James Gruntz kam 1987 als Jonas Gruntz auf die Welt. Die Erziehung war streng. Sonntags war «Abmachen» verboten. So war Musik für Jonas nicht nur Zeitvertreib, sondern auch Zufluchtsort. «Musik war mein Tagebuch.» Er sang früh und nahm die Songs auf, spielte sie aber nicht einmal seinen Geschwistern vor. «Ich hatte Angst, dass mir die Musik weggenommen wird.» Eine gewisse Bühnenangst begleitete ihn viele Jahre. Erst nach Corona merkte er, wie wertvoll die Live-Momente von Konzerten sind.
