Episode 133 — Why Jesus Speaks in Parables
In this powerful episode of Greater Than Podcast, Elijah Murrell sits down with Ginger Ziegler to unpack a life marked by supernatural encounters, deep prayer, and unwavering hunger for God.From a childhood encounter with Jesus to years spent in the prayer closet, Ginger shares how her journey was shaped by a relentless pursuit of God's presence—and how that pursuit transformed everything. She opens up about the lasting impact of Kenneth Hagin's teachings, the reality of overcoming shame through identity in Christ, and why forgiveness is not optional for believers who want to walk in freedom. This conversation goes deep into the power of the blood of Jesus, revealing why it is still the believer's greatest weapon—and how a true revelation of it changes the way you live, pray, and stand against darkness.Ginger also unpacks the role of intercession, what it really means to be led by the Holy Spirit, and how a life of prayer is not reserved for a few—but is the calling of every believer.
Jesus speaks peace to those who by faith alone are saved and He reminds them that they have been healed!

When Jesus Speaks Your Name | Easter Sunday | Pastor Charlie GrimesDescription:"Mary."In one single word, everything changed. This Easter Sunday, Pastor Charlie Grimes explores the powerful, intimate encounter between the risen Christ and Mary Magdalene in John 20:11–18.Mary stood at the tomb weeping, blinded by grief and unable to recognize the Savior standing right in front of her. It wasn't until Jesus spoke her name that her eyes were opened to the reality of the Resurrection. In this message, we dive into the personal nature of God's love—reminding us that the same Jesus who conquered the grave calls each of us by name today. Are you listening for His voice amidst your own "weeping"? Join us as we celebrate the hope of the empty tomb and the God who meets us in our deepest moments of need.Key Highlights:Finding hope when you feel overwhelmed by grief. Why Mary didn't recognize Jesus at first—and what that means for us.The transformative power of a personal encounter with the Risen Lord.Scripture Reference:"Jesus said to her, 'Mary.' She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, 'Rabboni!' (which means 'Teacher')." — John 20:16Many thanks to the talented Sarah Hochstetler, Meghan Miller, and Owen Miller for their performance of the classic "In the Garden" by C. Austin Miles (1912).
Main Points 1. Jesus calls His people by name. 2. Jesus sends His people to tell others. The resurrection of Jesus is not merely a historical event but a personal encounter that transforms lives, as demonstrated in Mary Magdalene's encounter at the tomb. Jesus, the risen King, calls His followers by name—recognizing their grief, their identity, and their deepest longings—revealing His intimate knowledge and love. In response to her sorrow, He does not merely appear but speaks her name, awakening faith and recognition in her heart, leading her to declare Him 'Rabboni,' a term of profound reverence. He then commissions her not to cling to Him, but to go and proclaim the good news: that He is ascending to His Father, who is now also their Father, and that He will send the Holy Spirit to dwell within them. This moment marks a radical shift from mourning to mission, as a broken woman with a painful past becomes the first witness to the resurrection and the first to share the life-giving message of salvation. The sermon underscores that belief is not only a matter of sight but of hearing the voice of Christ, responding in faith, and being sent to tell others, especially those who have not yet believed, that the risen Savior is near and ready to save.

And the high priest stood up and said, “Have You no answer to make?” … But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus said to him, “You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. … What is your judgment?” They answered, “He deserves death.” Then they spit in His face and struck Him. And some slapped Him, saying, “Prophesy to us, You Christ! Who is it that struck You?” (Matthew 26:62a, 63-65a, 66-68)

Dr. Mitchell reviews the Pharisees accusing Jesus of being possessed by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons. So, Let's hear Jesus' statement that ‘all sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they utter”.Jesus died for you and me, people, sons of men, first of all. He died for people, to take away our sins. And because of His death on the cross, God is able to forgive ALL SINS. That includes yours and mine. Jesus begins his earthy ministry in "Galilee of the Gentiles" Why did he do that. What message was he wanting to send?
Wrapping up the Gospel of Matthew, we are in chapter 28, vss. 16-18.In these verses, we see the post resurrection relationship of Jesus with his disciples. The disciples worshipped the Lord, but as Matthew records, some doubted. In spite of this, Jesus reveals that from now on, all authority has been given to Him, both Authority in heaven and upon earth. His authority was given to Him because of His suffering, death and resurrection for you and me and for the vindication of the righteousness of God His Father. The 11 disciples also obeyed the Lord and met Him at the mountain in Galilee as He instructed them. The Lord now commissions His disciples to make disciples of all nations, not just Jews in Israel. Here is Dr. Mitchell with Matt.28:16-20 on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

We are in Matthew 25:14-30, the third parable of Jesus concerning the kingdom of heaven.Once again, we see the question of faithfulness to the Lord. He gives to each one according his own ability. In view of His coming, each one is called to be faithful to the Lord and He will reward each one accordingly. Two of the servants received the same commendation and the same reward and the same joy of the Lord. But the worthless and faithless servant received no commendation or reward or joy.So, Dr. Mitchell gives a short overview of 5 judgments in Scripture before examining this judgment of the sheep and goats. Helping us to grow in faithfulness till the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, here's Dr. Mitchell, Mt.25:14-30.
As we continue with Jesus' predictions of His coming again to the earth, we are in Matthew 24:45-51. In this passage, Jesus speaks of two kinds of servants doing two different activities with two different results. One is faithful, one is wicked. One is feeding the household, the other is drunken and beating fellow servants. The one is blessed when His Lord returns and rewards him. The other, not looking for his Lord, will be assigned a place with the hypocrites and it's associated anguish.Dr. Mitchell explains this passage not as regards salvation but concerning the character of the Lord's servants. He asks you and me whether we are looking and waiting for our savior. It could be today!Helping us to grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, here's Dr. Mitchell, Matthew 24:45-51.
