In today's sermon, which is part 4 of our Identity Series, Alex Becker teaches that according to Scripture, all Believers are "saints" - God's holy people. "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus ..." (Ephesians 1: 1) Songs from today's service were: "Sorrow once filled my life" (Jon Daniel) "Great things" (Phil Wickham) "My King forever" (Bethel Music) "Make room" (Community Music) "Nothing but the blood" (Robert Lowry)
Without knowing it many of us go through life unaware of our day-to-day experiences. Many call this mental absent-mindedness "auto-pilot". Socrates would probably refer to this as the unexamined life. Too much happens to us at any given moment which makes it difficult to be mindful of all that we're experiencing. In this episode, I sit down with my friend Jon Daniel to talk about the importance of mindfulness. He shares his own story of when he was kicked out of his undergraduate program with a GPA of 0.8 and recently went back to that same school and graduated with a 4.0 to receive a master's degree in clinical mental health! His story is inspiring as it challenges us to be mindful of the negative thought patterns we form and what we can do to retrain our minds to think positively.
Our gang members David, Jon & Daniel all recollect the best and worst moments of most of director-producer Rodriguez's career. Why does Alita: Battle Angel divide us so much? Why did Robert take so long making sequels to his better films while spending far more time making sequels that no one asked for to his lesser films?? What is he likely going to do in the future when he's run out of homages and favors to his homie Tarantino??? And more of bloody course! #quentintarantino #robertrodriguez #pulpfiction #spykids #alitabattleangel #anime #sharkboyandlavagirl #elmariacho #desperado #salmahayek #antoniobanderas #dialogue #gore #guitar #vampires #fromdusktilldawn #badass #frankmiller #sincity #comicbook #rosemcgowan #divorce #dannytrejo #predators #machete #michellerodriguez #jessicaalba #wtf #douchebag #infamous #awesome #overthetop #thedirectorschair #elrey #cablenetwork

The Recliner Nerd gets real. First he talks about George Floyd. He talks about how his perspective has changed on the police. He gets real on why we need to open our hearts and eyes to injustice. Then he GOES OFF on baseball. He rips the owners and the players, as he makes his case why baseball and ALL sports need to get going. After all, it's more fun to argue about Jon Daniel and Odor than things that can cause friendships to end. This one gets real. (He does use bad language for the first time ever) Peace! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
