Gewählt wird in Stadt und Region Hannover erst nächstes Jahr, doch selten war es so früh schon so viel Tamtam vor kommunalen Entscheidungen. Neuester Schlagzeilenlieferant ist der Regionspräsident. Steffen Krach (SPD) hat nach einer Amtszeit genug von Hannover und will in Berlin Regierender Bürgermeister werden. Dass sie das aus der Zeitung erfuhren und nicht von ihm selbst, kam bei vielen Genossen nicht gut an. "Klar so weit?"-Host Felix Harbart und HAZ-Politikredakteur Andreas Schinkel haben sich in der Partei und beim Regionsempfang umgehört und berichten in der neuen Folge über ganz unterschiedliche Reaktionen auf Krachs Abgang. Dass er seine Amtszeit parallel zum Wahlkampf in Berlin zu Ende führen wird, gilt als ausgeschlossen, deshalb steht die unvorbereitete SPD, wie Schinkel sagt, mit "herumtergelassener Hose" da. Nachfolgekandidaten gibt es trotzdem einige - wie sind ihre Chancen? In der Stadt hingegen gilt als recht sicher, dass Amtsinhaber Belit Onay für die Grünen wieder für das Amt des Oberbürgermeisters antreten wird. Sein SPD-Konkurrent und Stellvertreter im Amt, Axel von der Ohe, steht schon länger fest. Nun hat auch die CDU einen Mann nominiert: Peter Karst ist Hauptgeschäftsführer der Handwerkskammer und politisch recht unerfahren. Kann der Pfälzer, der auch mal SPD-Berater war, auch Oberbürgermeister? Er hat gegenüber seinen beiden Konkurrenten einen Vorteil, den man nicht unterschätzen sollte.
