Few judges have sat on a trial-court bench, a court of appeals, and the Texas Supreme Court. Our guest for this episode, Judge Jeff Brown, has done all three and more. Today, he joins Todd Smith and Jody Sanders to talk about his time as a state trial and appellate judge and his recent transition to the federal district bench. Sharing his career background, Judge Brown touches on how a judicial clerkship helps new lawyers understand how the court operates and makes decisions. Judge Brown also offers his take on advocacy in the courts where he has served and highlights similarities between the skill sets involved in federal trial courts and state appellate courts.Love the show? Just like the card game war, Troy and Randy line up 12 of the best songs from 1986 and 1989 and battle each other. To ensure fairness, they brought in none other then the guy who provides the intro music each week for Ouch You're on my Hair, the one and only Jeff Leppard, from Retro Shred music to judge. This contest gets really hard when you have bands like Motley Crue, Europe, LA Guns, Whitesnake, Van Halen and more battling each other song vs song. Who will win? Joe Mansman and The Midnight Revival Band are a 5 piece from northern New York, heavily impelled by Outlaw Rock and Roll, Blues, and more. Their sound is something no other band showcased has sounded like and we are sure you will love them, as we do. The band's only aim: To have a notoriously good time and take the whole place down with them.
