In this episode of The Gametime Guru, I sit down with Todd Smith, author of Relegated, to break down one of the most fascinating systems in global sports: promotion and relegation in English soccer. As an American sports fan, I've always been intrigued by the idea that a team can lose its place in the top league based on performance. In the United States, struggling teams in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS can have bad seasons and still remain in the league. But in English football, the stakes are completely different. If a club finishes at the bottom of the table, it can be relegated to a lower division, losing money, visibility, players, TV revenue, and even part of its identity. Todd Smith experienced this system firsthand while researching his book Relegated. He traveled across the English football pyramid, visiting Premier League stadiums, lower league clubs, small towns, gritty industrial cities, and passionate football communities to understand what relegation really means beyond the scoreboard. In this conversation, Todd and I talk about how relegation works in English soccer, why promotion and relegation creates real stakes every season, how football clubs impact local economies, and why soccer fandom in England is so deeply connected to identity, history, class, community, and pride. We also discuss whether relegation could ever work in American sports. Could the NFL, NBA, MLB, or MLS ever adopt a promotion and relegation system? Would American owners ever allow that much financial risk? And what would happen if a major franchise could actually lose its place in the top league? This episode is perfect for soccer fans, Premier League fans, MLS fans, sports business fans, and anyone interested in the cultural and economic impact of sports around the world. 214 If you've ever felt unloved, unseen, or emotionally unmet in your relationship…even while knowing your partner probably does care about you… this episode is a must listen. In the last episode, we talked about emotional agency and the 3 core layers that shape emotional well-being for highly sensitive people. In this episode, we dive much deeper into one of those layers, which tends to be one of the biggest hidden struggles I see highly sensitive people carry into relationships without even realizing it:The painful self-worth patterns and deeper “heart wound” that sit beneath feeling unloved. This is a conversation that Todd Smith, from the Stress Management for Highly Sensitive People Podcast, and I recorded for his podcast, and I decided to share it here because it's such a deep, compassionate, validating, and hopeful conversation. In it we explore:why HSPs can feel unloved even when they have a good partner who does really love themThe "heart wound", and something I call “care distortion”, and how they affect a marriagehow childhood conditioning and being told you're “too sensitive” impacts self-worthwhy reassurance from your partner never fully resolves the deeper painhow emotional patterns, thoughts, and the nervous system all work together to help you feel loved or unlovedhow to begin building a more secure, loving relationship with yourself And how that finally opens the door to you feeling the deep love in your relationship you've always wanted to feelI think a lot of you are going to feel deeply seen in this episode. And even more importantly, you will leave feeling hopeful — because these patterns are not permanent, and healing them is not just absolutely possible, but something you can totally excel at as an HSP with the right support. “The enemy knows exactly which buttons to push… but God is still who He says He is.”In this powerful Sunday morning message, Pastor Todd Smith reminds us that faith is not built on perfect circumstances — it's built on trusting that God is still present in the middle of pain, confusion, fear, and uncertainty.Preaching from Hebrews 11:6, Pastor Todd shares a timely word about what happens when life suddenly gets disrupted. One phone call. One doctor's report. One unexpected situation can shake everything. But even when the enemy pushes every button possible, God is still our healer, provider, peace, shepherd, and strength. This message is a reminder that we cannot allow difficult seasons to derail our faith or disconnect us from God's purpose. The enemy wants people isolated, offended, discouraged, and ready to quit — but God is calling His people to stay on the rails, stay anchored, and keep moving forward.Throughout this sermon, Pastor Todd speaks honestly about spiritual warfare, suffering, perseverance, healing, family legacy, and learning to align your spirit, mind, and words with the truth of God's Word.No matter what you're facing today, this message will encourage you to hold on, trust God again, and remember:He is.#PastorToddSmith #NorthGeorgiaRevival #ChristFellowshipChurch #Faith #Revival #Hebrews11 #ChristianMessage #SpiritualWarfare #Healing #Hope #Jesus #SundayMorningService #TrustGod #Prayer #RevivalFire

This message from Pastor Todd Smith titled “Walking in Sandals” hits deep.Pastor Todd takes us through John 1 and reminds us of something simple but powerful… God didn't just send a message—He became the message. Jesus, the same One who created everything, stepped into humanity and walked among us… in sandals.John didn't just hear about it or study it—he saw it. He lived it. He said, “we beheld His glory.” And that's the heart of this message… not just knowing about God, but actually encountering Him.There's a strong call in this word to stop being “menu readers” of the Bible and start stepping into it by faith. Everything God did then—He still wants to do now. Healing, freedom, miracles, restoration… it's not just history, it's still happening.Pastor Todd also shares powerful moments from what God is doing right now at the North Georgia Revival—real testimonies, real encounters, and a reminder that Jesus is still moving today just like He did then. This message will stir your hunger for more of God and challenge you to stop settling for less.If you've ever wondered, “Is there more?” — this message is for you.#WalkingInSandals #PastorToddSmith #NorthGeorgiaRevival #ChristFellowshipChurch #RevivalFire #HolySpiritMove #FaithInAction #MiraclesToday #John1 #BeholdHisGlory #JesusStillMoves #EncounterGod #RevivalNow #KingdomCome #HungerForGod

This is the Easter message from the ONE Series called Not There. In this message, Pastor Todd shares the power and meaning of the resurrection—how everything changed because the tomb is empty. Jesus isn't there. And because of that, everything about our lives can be different too.Walking through Luke 24, he reminds us that the resurrection isn't just a moment in history—it's the reason our faith is alive today. Without it, the cross would have just been another death. But because Jesus rose, sin was not just covered… it was completely taken away.Pastor Todd breaks it down in a real and honest way—we've all had things in our lives: mistakes, sin, regret, stuff we try to hide or cover up. But Jesus didn't come to cover it… He came to take it away completely. That's the beauty of Easter. What used to define you isn't there anymore. This message is also a clear invitation. Not just to believe in Jesus, but to truly follow Him—to be changed, to be made new, to be born again.Because one day, we'll all stand before God. And the question won't be how good we were… it will be whether our name is written in the book of life.Scripture: Luke 24:1–7If this message spoke to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it.And remember this simple truth:He's not there… and your sin doesn't have to be either.

His work focuses on helping HSPs see how much of their stress is created by the thoughts they are believing, notjust the situations they are in. Rather than focusing on managing or controlling life, he guides clients to question the thinking that creates pressure in the first place. This approach is grounded in a gentle, practicalprocess that allows insight and relief to emerge naturally. He works one-on-one with clients, supporting them in applying this to real situations in their lives. Many of the people he works with are navigating overwhelm, emotional intensity, and a strong sense of responsibility for others. As this begins to shift, clients experience more space and ease without needing everything aroundthem to change. He is also the host of the podcast “Stress Management for Highly Sensitive People,” where he explores how HSPs can move toward a life oftrue inner freedom.Linkto episode can be found here:  #drdanamzallag, #drdanpodcast, #Happinessjourneywithdrdan,#ddanmotivation, #inspiringinterviews, #drdancbt, #drdantherapy,#drdancoaching, #drdanhappiness,
