The semi-final may have been a game too far for England but what a journey it’s been. Gareth the Lionheart’s young team fell short but gave us memories that we’ll cherish forever. Knighthoods for all!We look back over England’s tournament with fondness, surprise and a little bit of curiosity about what could have been. That’s more like it.We also discuss the irrelevances that are the third place play-off and the final. Time is ticking for the Stags but at last, they have their first win under David Flitcroft after Mal Benning received a knighthood and wrote his name into Stags folklaw, netting the only goal in a derby day victory. This week Nathan may well have headed to spain, but the sunshine arrived in Mansfield and so Craig, Cam and Simon headed outside to Craig's back garden, to chat all things Stags as Simon's sister Shelly also chips in. On the agenda this week..... is the Chesterfield game THE turning point or is it to late? Looking ahead to the summer who stays and who would you bring in? and is Flitcroft starting to make his mark? All of that and a LOT more as usual in the show for the fans by the fans - why? Because Mansfield Matters. There's also a cameo appearance from a dog - yeah it was one of those shows... ------------------ SUMMER SERIES Once the full time whistle has blown on the 2017/18 season the Mansfield Matters team will be taking 'A Trip down Memory Lane' as they'll be joined by ex players and managers who will recall stories of yesteryear over a cuppa. It's all in the name of Charity, as the team are raising money for the alzheimer's society, as sadly many former footballers now live with Dementia, including Stags legend Kevin Bird. What happens now, if Britain wants to smash the German’s water supply?Fortunately the Britain of old is alive and well and living in Australia. Balls host Phil Dobbie talks about Tony Abbott’s reintroduction of Knighthoods, a move so antiquated even John Howard thinks its old fashioned. If you think that’s all balmy, what about the US Republican candidate who has shown his disdain to the Obamacare legislation by taking his gun out and shooting holes in it. Plus the new college course offering a 'lens into cultural conflict' and 'core issues of intersectionality theory' – a what? From New Zealand David Campbell talks about earthquakes and an end to the Hobbit movie franchise. Can the Kiwi economy survive? And Brian Haverty rounds off this week’s episode by talking about wearable technology. Is our sole purpose in life these days to simply collect data to be processed and then collated back to us? For what purpose. Oh for those olden days, of knights and dames …
