A Study of Psalm 8
Title: The Majesty of God Series: Summer in the Psalms
Misty Creek Community Church 6/16/24 Sermon: "The Majesty of God"Father's Day WeekendThis week's sermon "The Majesty of God" is a thoughtful exploration of the divine greatness of God. The essence of the sermon emphasizes the importance of understanding and becoming absorbed in God's majesty, which I will support with insightful biblical examples. The sermon begins with a thought-provoking question, "What is the one thing we really believe God wants us to do?" My answer frames the crux of the message, namely that God wants us to comprehend His majesty. I support this concept with an example from 2 Peter 1:16, where Peter, having personally witnessed the divine, conveys the glory of Jesus Christ's coming stories as truth.Drawing on the devotion of King David to God, the sermon highlights a key biblical figure who acknowledged and celebrated God's majesty relentlessly. King David gathered leaders, priests, and commanders for service to God, thereby honoring the God of Israel. I tie this illustration back to David's praise of God's limitless greatness and majesty in 1 Chronicles 29:10-13. The sermon also refers to Psalm 68:34-35 to impress upon the congregation God's all-encompassing power and majesty. This serves as an exhortation for all to proclaim and recognize God's incomparable power.I concluded this sermon by challenging the congregation's fathers and spiritual fathers. Using the story of Desmond T. Doss, the unarmed WWII medic who rescued 75 men, as an example of fulfilling God's calling. This powerful tale of duty and bravery underscores my request for men in the congregation to invest spiritually in others and to spread God's majesty and love. In sum, this week's sermon "The Majesty of God" illuminates the critical value of acknowledging and being drawn in by God's magnificence. The account offers biblical accounts and real-world examples to encourage the congregation to accept God's omnipotence, and to challenge all of us to share God's majesty and word with others. I will drive home the necessity of spiritual discipleship in spreading the love and word of God. I hope to see you this Sunday! Grace and Peace,Stephen
In this study Dave looks into the majesty of God. Something we don't give as much attention to as we should.

Looking at the night sky with the radiance of the moon and stars, King David understood what it all revealed. He said, “The heavens declare the glory of God.” The brightness and the brilliance of the skies tell us about the beauty and the majesty of God. Only someone so powerful and so creative could design what we see each night.Main Points:1. Regardless of where we live on earth, the voice of God speaks to us through nature, revealing His existence, power, and glory.2. Because of this general revelation, we cannot say God has hidden himself from us. He reveals His existence every day. 3. With this revelation, we have a choice with what to do with it. Seeing the beauty, majesty, and power of God, how will we respond? Many respond with indifference, but I pray you'll see the power of God and respond by acknowledging His greatness.Today's Scripture Verses:Isaiah 40:26 - “Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name.”Psalm 19:1-4 - “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”Romans 1:20 - “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”Psalm 147:4 - “He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.”Quick Links:Subscribe to The 5 Minute Discipleship NewsletterDonate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group5 Minute Discipleship on Instagram
Could the very design of your eye reveal something profound about the universe and your place within it? In this session we take a journey through Genesis, uncovering the divine craftsmanship behind creation. It's a thought-provoking exploration of our personal God's intimate involvement with us, His creation, and the overwhelming evidence of love and intention woven into every aspect of our existence. Genesis chapter one stands as a monotheistic declaration of a single God's sovereignty over the cosmos, and in this session, we're seeking to understand the depth of this claim. In this sermon, Dr. Boadum teaches on the sovereignty of God and how we must have an awakened consciousness of God's majesty, power, and splendor. In this awakening, we are reminded not to replace God with any other person or thing, on the throne of our hearts. Be blessed.
As a newer congregation with many newer folks, I want to spend the next few weeks going over some of the basics of what mean when we say we are “Reformed.” Historically, this name goes back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16thcentury, but it is fundamentally based on the supremacy of God, revealed in Scripture, as the perfect Word of God. To say we are Reformed is to say that we want everything we think, say, or do to be God-centered and obedient to His Word. This is not to say that we have arrived, but it is to say that He is worthy. As we do this, we really do want to stand in the “old paths” and hold fast to the “faith once delivered for the saints,” but we want to actually live in this glorious house and not merely become the next museum curators. Or to change the metaphor, we want to fire these cannons at real, modern enemies, not merely polish them and rehearse how they were once used in the glory days of yore.King's Cross Church is a member congregation of the CREC in Moscow, ID. It has been said that what comes to our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. Your view of God—right or wrong—will define your entire relationship with Him, so make absolutely sure it is based on truth. Our tendency is to create a god who is just like us; […]

As we worship the Lord, we demonstrate just how much God is worth to us. This demonstration should be part of our daily lives but is often most recognizable as part of worship services. Worship is about connecting our spirits with the Spirit of God. It envelopes all of our being. In this Bible Story, Jesus heals a man who was blind from birth. The young man who is healed is then questioned by the Pharisees, for they do not want to admit that Jesus is truly good and had the power to heal. The once blind man stands firm in declaring that no evil man could do what Jesus did. This story is inspired by John 9:1-38. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is John 9:25 from the King James Version.Episode 196: As Jesus and His disciples were passing through the streets of Capernaum, they passed by a man who had been blind since birth. The disciples, misunderstanding the man's condition, thought that his blindness was a result of sin. But Jesus proved to them that the man was not blind because of sin but rather so God could be glorified in healing him. After Jesus had healed the man he was brought in front of the Pharisees to be questioned about his newfound sight. But as they were questioning the formerly blind man, his honest answers revealed their spiritual blindness.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. A sermon by David Bunting.
In this Bible Story, John has been exiled after being dipped in a vat of boiling oil. As he sits on the shores of Patmos, God comes to him in a vision. John writes in poetry and metaphor to describe his vision of God's throne room. We are taken up with John, beholding God's majesty and glory. This story is inspired by Revelation. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Revelation 4:2 from the King James Version.Episode 242: The Apostle John, now exiled on the island of Patmos, became startled as he heard a powerful voice behind him. The voice told him to write down what he was about to see. He turned around to see who was speaking to him and saw that it was the risen Jesus. His appearance was full of majesty as He gave John a message for each of the seven churches. But the vision did not end there, John was then called up into the throne room of God where he saw it filled with the beauty and majesty only God can bring. Beautiful colors, many thrones, and massive living creatures which all shouted the praises of God Most High, and the Lamb that was slain now lives!Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast.
