Welcome to the Inside Heater podcast! We are two baseball fans by the names of Sutton and Elijah on the journey of bringing you up to speed on baseball news, history, takes and series recaps. Our goal is to stay family-friendly (as much as possible) to connect generations and grow the game that we both love. We want our listeners to be able to listen to a podcast where parents can just throw it on in the car and hope that their love of the game will rub off on their children as well. On this episode, we do a recap of the wild card games where the Red Sox knocked out the Yankees and the Dodgers win in dramatic fashion over the Cardinals. We discuss what is next for the Yankees after being eliminated. We give our postseason predictions. We finish off with a discussion about the Rays needing to actually move to Tampa because according to their president, baseball in Tampa wont work and they will look to split the season between Montreal and Tampa (actually St. Petersburg). Whether it is good morning, good afternoon, or goodnight when you are listening, thank you for tuning in.
HOUR 1: ERod turns in dud, Sox drop Game 1 to the Montreal Rays. Lou Merloni explains why Rays are so successful year in and year out 10-8-21 See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Joel, Sam, and Thomas are back and it's the last week of the regular season! This week's topics: Are the Rays serious about splitting time between Tampa and Montreal? Is this the high point for the Mariners? Do the Red Sox even want to go to the playoffs? And Kyrie Irving is an anti-vaxxer, which is very "on brand" for him. Jon Paul Morosi, a longtime friend of the podcast and Michigan faithful, joins the show to talk some Blue Jays as they begin their 3 game series against the New York Yankees. Once we get some hockey talk out of the way, the three discuss the mountain the Blue Jays may have to climb to get to the playoffs, starting with their series against the Yankees. J.P. gives us his take on how he thinks Hyun-Jin Ryu will fare on the mound after some rest and adjustments from his pitching coach. We also look into Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s injury and when fans will get to see him back in a jays jersey. To end the show, the three talk about the Tampa Bay/ Montreal Rays and if this is actually going to happen. Is this just the beginning of a full relocation, bringing the Expos back to Montreal?
TSN and Forbes legal analyst Eric Macramalla joins the guys to talk about Cleveland changing the name of their baseball team, the latest on the idea of the Montreal Rays, a physical assault by a football coach, and more
According to Tony Clark, the executive director of the MLB Player's Association, the union would prefer for the Rays to stay in Tampa Bay. Last summer, the Rays announced the idea of splitting their season between Montreal and Tampa Bay. Armed with a 96mph sinker from the left side, Bummer is one of the premier groundball artists in the game. All this (and more) on today's episode.
