Dr Eric Davis, What the Government Knows About UAPs: Eric Davis on Disclosure, Crash Retrievals, NHI and Skinwalker Ranch Disclosure Without Giving Away the Technology Dr. Eric Davis argues that a basic layer of UAP disclosure should occur quickly: governments should acknowledge, in his view, that UAP exist, that non-human intelligence has interacted with humanity for a very long time, that craft have allegedly been recovered internationally, and that some form of contact may have occurred. At the same time, he draws a firm line between acknowledging those claims and releasing sensitive technical information. Davis says details about materials, propulsion, control systems, weapons, or other reverse-engineering findings could create serious national-security risks if foreign adversaries acquired them. He expects resistance not only from government counterintelligence officials but also from private aerospace contractors concerned about intellectual property and classified work. He also argues that part of the government's reluctance is institutional pride: admitting that UAP can enter military or nuclear airspace with impunity would expose the limits of conventional defense systems. The discussion therefore separates social disclosure from technical declassification. Classified Briefings, Crash-Retrieval Claims, and Private Industry Davis says he has already briefed congressional and government personnel in classified settings, including Senate committee staff, the UAP Task Force environment, AARO, and Representative Anna Paulina Luna's task force. He describes having received information from two separate industry sources connected, in his account, with crash-retrieval programs and says senior figures including Hal Puthoff, Bob Bigelow, and Colm Kelleher also received some of that information. Davis says the reverse-engineering effort had achieved only modest progress in understanding recovered materials and had not solved how the craft were manufactured or powered. He describes reports from Jim Lacatski and an aerospace executive that recovered craft lacked recognizable engines, fuel systems, switches, gauges, or conventional controls. Davis further says some engineers may be compartmentalized so tightly that they receive only pieces of material without being told the alleged origin. He repeatedly distinguishes what he personally saw from what was told to him by classified or industry sources. How UAP Might Move A major part of the interview explores theoretical physics rather than disclosure politics. Davis discusses traversable wormholes, warp drives, spacetime geometry, quantum entanglement, and the immense energy requirements associated with conventional general-relativistic propulsion ideas. He rejects the idea that humanity currently knows how to engineer a practical Einstein-style warp drive or wormhole and characterizes Ben Rich's famous reported statement about taking E.T. home as overconfident extrapolation from theoretical physics. Davis speculates that a sufficiently advanced technology might manipulate the deeper quantum-entanglement structure from which spacetime may emerge, potentially avoiding some classical energy barriers. He also discusses the possibility that reported craft use telepathic or brain-linked control systems rather than visible mechanical controls. Davis is explicit that these propulsion explanations remain speculation because, according to him, the recovered systems have not been understood well enough to identify a demonstrated mechanism. Reported NHI Types and the Question of Motive Davis discusses four prominent categories of reported non-human beings: Grays, Nordics, and beings described as insect-like or reptile-like, while stressing that these are witness descriptions rather than proof that the beings literally belong to those biological categories. He says older UFO literature contains a broader range of reported forms and craft configurations. When Alan Steinfeld asks about alien abduction programs or genetic harvesting, Davis says plainly that he has no useful information and cannot confirm such a program. He is similarly cautious when asked why NHIs are here, saying that the technical crash-retrieval people he encountered were not necessarily read into questions of motive or contact. His own working hypothesis is the “zoo hypothesis”: the NHIs may be observing humanity as zookeepers observe animals, particularly because human nuclear weapons can devastate the planet. He points to reported UAP activity around nuclear facilities as evidence that the phenomenon appears interested in humanity's most destructive technology, while admitting that the ultimate purpose remains unknown. Skinwalker Ranch and the Intelligent-Control-System Idea Davis recounts several experiences from the years he worked with NIDS and Bob Bigelow at Skinwalker Ranch. He describes a surveillance-camera cable that was found cleanly cut high on a pole without another camera recording any visible vandal, reports of orbs, agitated cattle, a dark-shadow experience, and a newborn calf that was found extensively mutilated within roughly 30 minutes. He says forensic tissue examination suggested sharp-instrument cuts, while a scenario analysis raised questions about whether a conventional human team could have performed the mutilation within the available time without being seen or heard. Davis connects the ranch experiences to Jacques Vallée's concept of an “intelligent control system,” suggesting that the phenomenon appears to regulate the way it interacts with human observers and perhaps even the pace of disclosure. He speculates that both human institutions and the phenomenon itself may resist complete disclosure. That conclusion is presented as Davis's hypothesis, not as an established scientific finding. Texas criminal defense lawyer -- moved recently from Houston to Maryland -- Eric J. Davis (until he has a website, reachable at eric.davis@gmx.us and 713-227-2727) believes strongly in giving back what he has learned, and in integrating what he learns into what he already knows, rather than shedding valuable experience and ability with the latest teachings. Fairfax, Virginia criminal defense lawyer Jon Katz met Eric at the spring 2026 National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers program, and learned that Eric, like Jon, is a Trial Lawyers College alum, where Eric is on the TLC board and staff. Eric is also a member of the NACDL board of directors. He states straight out that the criminal justice system evolved out of racism, and finds positive ways to deal with that, including bringing race to the attention of jurors so that they will help criminal defendants when they spot racial bias and unfairness. Eric is full of optimistic energy and fight, including in talking about his acquittal for a firearm defendant by focusing on how police rushed to judgment and narrowed themselves to finding evidence to prove him guilty, rather than considering other possible suspects after finding a firearm in an empty vehicle.  Eric talks about how his experience with the Trial Lawyers College and its focus on psychodrama and storytelling helped him feel freer in pursuing justice for his clients, including focusing on the emotions of the case, the emotions of the jurors and of the actors in the case and their motivations for how they acted. Eric tells a great personal story during jury selection / voir dire to inspire them to be open about racial issues -- rather than expecting to transform their prejudices in the short timespan of a trial -- by recounting how he had his defenses up when walking to fill his empty gas tank when a truck with an older white driver slowed down, and how the driver -- after they learned how much they had in common -- told Eric how he at first thought Eric was up to no good, and Eric confessed to having first had the same view of the truck driver. And then Eric asks the jurors about any assumptions they are making about race, to start the discussion. Pure brilliance. Rules that help for a fair trial for a criminal defendant are great, but often are few and far between, and are not always sufficiently enforced. That is why I prominently display a Gladiator film clip board in my office, as a reminder of how Russell Crowe's Maximus Decimus Meridius and his teammates win despite the absence of any rules protecting them, and despite the lowest and basest violence from their opponents. Eric Davis reminds us that we can win justice for criminal defendants even when the rules do not appear to be in our favor nor to be sufficiently enforced when those rules are favorable to criminal defendants. He starts by diving deep into the jury selection process, with conversations in which he steers guilty verdict-leaning jurors closer to his side, sometimes by adding one variation to the conversation at a time.
