Send us a textOn this episode we have former MLB RHP/Pitching coach/NY Mets Manager Mickey Callaway....Mickey comes on the show to talk about his college career, grind in the minors, MLB debut, playing over in Asia, transition to coaching, time with the Mets. Thank you everyone for listening! Geoff Freeborn
Host Bill Donohue talks with Hall of Fame outfielder Fred Lynn, followed by a very candid conversation with former Mets manager Mickey Callaway.
Who knew Lou Merloni threw his helmet at Mickey Callaway when he was in Pawtucket? He retells the whole story and also talks Marlins attendance, Kutter Crawford, and the Sox bounce-back.
Hour 3 - During the third hour of the Gresh Show he talks Sox, Celtics, and more. First, Lou Merloni checks in from the sandy beaches of the Florida Keys. Then, Turp joins the show to break down the Celtics offseason. Finally, Big Deal, No Big Deal on JJ Reddick and how he has treated Bronny so far.
Mark DeRosa of MLB Network joins BT & Sal from Studio 42 to discuss Opening Day, and he tells the story of how he interviewed for the Mets manager job and tells the guys what Sandy Alderson told him when he picked Mickey Callaway over him.
Hour 1 Jerry is in for Boomer today so it's Gio & Jerry. The Nets have fired Jacque Vaughn so you can add him to the list of NY sports coaches that have been let go recently. We talked about the worst NY hires and came up with Adam Gase and Mickey Callaway. Gio put David Fizdale on that list as well. We could get two new football coaches and a new Yankees manager if things don't go well this upcoming season. C-Lo is here for his first update but first we talked about him co-hosting with BT yesterday, filling in for Sal. Gio said that Kevin Clancy of Barstool will be filling in for Boomer on Thursday morning. Juan Soto met the media and said it's going to be ‘electric'. Luke Voit talked about the potential of being a DH with the Mets. Anthony Rendon said baseball is a job but it's not his highest priority. Antonio Pierce thinks he has the formula to beat the Chiefs, the ‘Patrick Mahomes Rules'. Rick Pitino said he wasn't ripping anybody when he criticized his team on Sunday. In the final segment of the hour, Jason Kelce was a guest on Shaq's podcast. He told Kelce to retire and spend time with his wife and kids because he screwed up in the past. It made both Gio and Jerry sad to hear Shaq sounding so lonely. Jerry said you better have a plan when you retire or you are going to struggle. Ryan Clark put out a hype video for himself saying his deal with ESPN is over and ‘somebody gotta pay the piper'. Hour 2 We continued talking about Ryan Clark, whose contract is up at ESPN, and he put out a hype video for his broadcasting career. He wants to work less in his next job, but get paid more. We also wondered what recently retired NFL players would want to do a 4-hour radio show, 5 days a week like Boomer. These guys have all made way too much money in their careers. C-Lo is here for an update, but first Gio has a story about a black hole that is scaring him. Juan Soto talked about his expectations for this ‘electric' Yankees season. A caller said he's ‘a moon chaser', and is going to Mexico to see some sort of moon eclipse. He also is a micro-doser and a gynecologist. There was a brawl in the Texas A&M-Comm vs Incarnate Word basketball game. Also, Tyrese Haliburton has 2 completely different voices within the same conversation. In the final segment of the hour, a caller said his girlfriend's grandmother died and his girlfriend thought the bird was a sign from heaven. He used Jerry's line, ‘it's a bird you moron' and is now in the doghouse so to speak. Hour 3 Anthony Rendon met the media yesterday and he said that baseball isn't really a top priority to him these days now that he has a family. Does he deserve credit for his honesty? It's definitely turning the fans off since he is making a ton of money and he only plays like 50 games a year. Gio thinks a lot of athletes feel like Rendon. It's just a job and a paycheck to them. Golf analyst Amanda Balionis wasn't wearing her wedding ring at the Genesis Invitational and a lot of online speculation began. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Juan Soto commenting on whether the Yankees have enough to win the World Series. Why is Gio so fascinated with Peter Schwartz? Chris McMonigle had a slip of the tongue and mentioned the Yankees when talking about hockey. Tiki Barber said Shaun Morash is ‘not a real Giant fan'. We also talked about how terrible Evan Roberts looks. In the final segment of the hour, Beyonce has a new song and it's country. We also talked more about Pete Alonso's upcoming free agency. Hour 4 We played a clip from Evan and Tiki where they were talking about the Matt Martin fight in the Rangers game. Gio talked about fearing guys coming to the house to date his daughter. We took calls from guys who have daughters and they talked to us about how to stay close to them as they get older. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day but first we play John Mayer's ‘Daughters'. C-Lo has audio from Juan Soto and Anthony Rizzo. Aaron Boone talked about Soto reminding him of Barry Bonds. He also commented on Gleyber Torres' mustache. Travis Kelce spent $13K on Taylor Swift for Valentine's Day. The Moment of The Day involves a moon chasing, micro-dosing gynecologist. In the final segment of the show, Gio has been catching up on Love Is Blind. One of the women claimed she looked like Meghan Fox. She doesn't, so the internet went all in on her. Evan attacked ‘fat Rangers fans'.
Add Jacque Vaughn to the long list of recent NY sports coaches to get the boot.

The panel reflects on the disappointing way the Dodgers and Major League Baseball have responded to harassment and domestic violence issues from Mickey Callaway to Trevor Bauer.
Thursday's episode is a jam-packed one. We first talk about MLB's decision to place Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway (suspended since February) on the ineligible list through the 2022 season and the Angels subsequent decision to fire Callaway. We then make a pivot to the Angels third straight win (and near bullpen implosion) before wrapping up with a preview of the upcoming six-game road trip to the Bay Area.-You can follow Brent on Twitter at @bmags94, the podcast at @LockedOnAngels, and Brent's written work at Crashing the Pearly Gates Learn more about your ad choices. They discuss their college days, why Justin feels the Angels are the West Coast Mets and growing up in southern California. They go on to discuss how the Angels and Mets each have handled the aftermath of The Athletic's reporting on suspended pitching coach Mickey Callaway, as well as the emergence of former Met Juan Lagares (and Anaheim native Jose Rojas) into the big league picture for Opening Day before diving into mailbag questions. A tough conversation about the Mickey Callaway situation reported through the athletic.
Brent and Mike discuss the Mickey Callaway allegations and what the club knew about at the time of his employment as pitching coach. Plus an update as the first round of games have been played to open spring training.
Welcome to our 2nd of episode of the Inside Heater podcast! We are two baseball fans by the names of Sutton and Elijah embarking on the journey of bringing you up to speed on baseball news, history, takes, and series recaps. Our goal is to stay family-friendly (as much as possible) to connect generations and grow the game that we both love. We want our listeners to be able to listen to a podcast where parents can just throw it on in the car and hope that their love of the game will rub off on their children as well. On this episode we discuss how MLB, the Indians, Mets, and Angels failed to address the Mickey Callaway sexual harassment incidents properly and how it shows how women are treated in sports and MLB. We discuss the official ruling of no universal DH and no expanded playoffs. And to finish off, we discuss 1st impressions of attending a 2021 baseball game and the announcement of Lou Gehrig day starting this year on June 2nd. Whether it is good morning, good afternoon, or goodnight when you are listening, thank you for tuning in.
On Thursday's episode of Locked On Angels, we kick it off with more troubling news about current Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway thanks to tremendous reporting from The Athletic. In the second segment, you'll hear some very premature Spring Training observations, including some banter about Shohei Ohtani's promising start to the year.-You can follow Brent on Twitter at @bmags94, the podcast at @LockedOnAngels, and Brent's written work at Crashing the Pearly Gates-Highlight audio courtesy of Fox Sports WestRECOMMENDED READING: "What the Indians, MLB really knew about Mickey Callaway's Behavior" by Britt Ghiroli and Katie Strang (contribution from Ken Rosenthal) of The Athletic Learn more about your ad choices. We start out where the news has been all day Mickey Callaway the caught falsehood by the Indians and the troubling Tito Francano connections. Callaway is many things all bad, but we talk about the greater baseball issues that allows for Mickey Callaway's to thrive. Callaway's actions are despicable but they are not surprising if you have been around baseball long enough. The Indians need to do better. We talk about the Francisco Lindor name issues, and how while I respect it the timing is a bit odd. We talk about the delayed minor league season, player options, and end discussing the game against Seattle and what parts are important and or interesting from that game. If nothing else it is nice to not see Billy Hamilton as a DH, and we hopefully never will again.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Repdigits are a thing you should look up, because that's what this episode of The Squeeze is. Michael and Tyler both have to take cholesterol pills now, but not because of any major heart problems, just because of the fact that the CARDINALS ACQUIRED NOLAN ARENADO AND THEIR HEARTS CAN'T STOP FLUTTERING OVER THE FACT. In return for this bountiful harvest, the Colorado Rockies get a singular chip, a tissue, and a penny, but more on that in the episode. People on the internet are incredibly fun to play around with, especially those who are as*holes #followusonInstagram. JT Realmuto is heading to a city full of bells, which just sounds lovely, almost as lovely as the amount of cash he's getting to do so. Trevor Bauer has so much money now that he's making a fourth Expendables movie where he'll star as both the hero and villain (it's an artistic interpretation, let the man experiment). Curt Schilling is big mad because they did something he's not a fan of: counting all the votes. MLB is trying to do some stuff that the rest of us don't like, so the player's association is telling them to stop in a very firm manner. Fernando Tatis Jr is doing something really cool! Mickey Callaway is a terrible person.
A jam-packed Truck Day episode! Gabrielle discusses the alarming amount of equipment headed to the Red Sox' Spring Training facility, and wonders whether spitting sunflower seeds will be allowed under COVID restrictions this year. She also pays tribute to ESPN's legendary Pedro Gomez, who passed away suddenly the day before, and discusses Johnny Damon's full-page ad in the Boston Globe, National Girls & Women in Sports Day, Mickey Callaway being a creep, her 1-year anniversary of hosting Locked On Red Sox, and of course, the Super Bowl...*********Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Scott, Luke, Mike and Matt are back after some recent technical mishaps. Restaurants are open again, sorta, in Michigan and apparently Scott hates the first week of February. Ted Williams also had the eye of the tiger. Once upon a time Luke saw Will Smith in Manhattan. We kinda chat about the fact that L.A. Angels baseball coach Mickey Callaway is a scumbag towards women. The show also revels in the underrated music of Jewel. It's quite lovely. Did you ever wonder why the baseball hall of fame was created? Find out in this episode. Scott Radinsky is in the running for the greatest life of all-time since he was able to be a major leaguer for 10 years and be the front man of 2 kick-ass punk bands! Hard to top for sure. The Wall Street Bets showdown with Wall Street certainly was intense, but what was really the end result of that whole deal? Mel Gibson is known to be an alcoholic, which isn't funny, but his phone calls to his ex are oddly entertaining. Find out for yourself. Mike bows out after an hour and half but the 3 diehards keep the conversation going with topics like the minimum wage is still too low. Email us at isitsafepod@gmail.com with anything you want us to talk about on the show.
