It's not a Dirty Little Secret we always got a great guest. Nickolas Wheeler of the All American Rejects will Swing Swing on by the cast to talk about their new album Sandbox coming out in May. We chat about the quick turnaround from high school to music career, burnout, his music studio, and much more. Check out Sandbox, the bands first album in 14 years after our interview. We get real weird as usual this week as we learn that Mike had a pet turtle named Gonzo, Mike has some new animal encounters, and Scott's puts Mike through a game called "American Rejects". A great episode. Have a listen!

We recently got to stop by and visit with our friends at Crystal Mountain, during a snowy and blustry winter day when the lifts were picking up happy skiers on their way to sashaying down the mountain. We learned it's never too early to get a jump on the upcoming golf season, no matter the weather, if you find yourself at Crystal. They've recently installed a new virtual golf simulator, and we got to give it whirl. We got the scoop from Brittany Butti Primeau, Communications Director at Crystal Mountain and Doug Hand, Golf Operations Manager. Doug even lets Amy famously whiff live on the air, so tune in for that. If you are interested in trying the Track Man simulator, which is loaded with over 400 virtual courses, you can give it a try, whether it's just to play for fun or to take a lesson. A great way to work on your swing in the off season, loosen up those winter muscles, or just enjoy a round of golf during these winter months. The simulator runs $65 an hour and is available daily beginning November 24, 2025 through April 5, 2026 from 9am - 9pm. To reserve your spot, please call 844-464-0949 or book online.
The crew goes shares their Three Point Stances with high school athletes using AI to generate highlight reels, the Celtics being very similar to last years team offensively, and Drew Dalman retiring at a young age. Where does Payton Tolle's future lie with the Red Sox? Tom E. Curran calls into the show and claims the Stefon Diggs move was purely financial, DJ Moore isn't a needle mover in Buffalo, and if the Patriots should pay Gonzo high amounts of money
Why are the Patriots not giving the money that Christian Gonzalez has worked for and earned? Is Alex Guerrero the final straw when it comes to Maxx Crosby staying in Las Vegas? Andrew Raycroft calls into the show and touches on what the Bruins should do coming the trade deadline and why Swayman wasn't between the posts during the Olympics.
Andy goes on to explain that the Patriots are messing up big time by not paying Gonzo the money he deserves and the only player above Gonzo is Drake Maye

While the physical fires are kept burning with a metric ton of heating pellets here in the freezing Latvian buffer zone, the geopolitical cesspool has officially overflowed. In this massive, fast-paced dispatch, we tear apart the outbreak of the largest Middle Eastern war since 2003—Operation Epic Fury.As American stealth bombers dance through the Iranian skies, the myth of the "Multipolar World" burns to the ground. Russia and China have completely abandoned Tehran, triggering an absolute panic among the Z-Patriots. We break down the delusion of the exiled Russian opposition, deliver the brutal pragmatic truth from the Baltics, and explain how Iran's asymmetric terror strategy is dragging the global economy into the abyss.Meanwhile, the Russian economy is actively cannibalizing itself. We look at the 30 trillion ruble crater in the budget, the Orwellian trap being laid to freeze civilian bank deposits, and the hardline military faction explicitly citing the UN to justify a "holy mutiny" against Vladimir Putin. Finally, we end on a darkly comedic note: watching Solovyov's top propagandist accidentally admit to the Holodomor on live state television, only to get accused of being a Banderite. The cardboard armor of the authoritarian world is violently catching fire.Support the show and keep the Gonzo journalism alive:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheEasternBorderMerch Store: https://theeasternborder-shop.fourthwall.com/Help the frontline units in Ukraine who are fighting in the mud:Donate a truck: https://car4ukraine.com/en-US/campaigns/christmas-tree-trucks-2025-the-eastern-borderHappiness is mandatory.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. How will the Pats handle contract extension talks with Christian Gonzalez?
Hey, everyone, I'm John Gonzalez from Behind the Mitten. I'm in Bay City, Michigan right now with my good friend Earl Bovia, president of the Bay City Fireworks Festival (July 1-4, 2026). It's a little noisy in here, Earl, because you just made some major announcements about this year's event. "Yeah, we've got a bunch of different acts coming. (Country act) Confederate Railroad on Thursday night. We're doing a Wednesday in the Park free show this year, which is new, Thunderstruck AC/DC tribute is coming in."He added: "It's gonna be a great festival. And also, we just announced today, this is going be the biggest festival we've ever put on. The most fireworks shot up in the air, ever. More than the 50th anniversary and the 50,000 shells we did that year."Gonzo said: "So Earl, also we're celebrating a major milestone for our country."Earl said: "The 250th for the country. that's why our aim is to make this the biggest and best to celebrate the 250th of the country. Earl, where can people get more information about this year's event, which is happening July 1st through the 4th, and buy those cool t-shirts?"He said: "Go to www.baycityfireworksfestival.com, all the information is right there for you."

This week, your favorite former puppeteers climb aboard one of the strangest stops in The Muppet Show canon: episode #308 featuring country icon Loretta Lynn, staged not in the familiar Muppet Theater… but on an abandoned train platform.Yes, really. Through a series of very Muppet-y mishaps, the gang finds themselves putting on the show trackside — surrounded by luggage, questionable infrastructure, and the lingering possibility that the 3:15 to nowhere might actually arrive. Loretta, cool as a coal miner's daughter, rolls with it all: singing her hits while frogs scramble, chickens wander, and Gonzo almost certainly violates several railway safety codes. We unpack the episode's delightfully ramshackle setting, how the change of scenery fuels the comedy, and why country music and train platforms feel like a match made in honky-tonk heaven. There's something poetically perfect about Loretta Lynn bringing grounded, heartfelt storytelling to a show that's literally off the rails. It's banjos, baggage carts, and backstage bedlam — proof that no matter the venue, the Muppets will raise the curtain… even if they have to nail it to a railway post first.

The great writer Hunter S. Thompson was nearly beaten to death by Hell's Angels, and then nearly electrocuted in a hotel bathtub when he pissed off the wrong people. He dropped acid with the Merry Pranksters, hunted deer with his car, and carried around an alcoholic monkey in his pocket. He was an outcast, a rebel, and a hellraiser, motivated by anger and the constant need for attention – the latter of which he received in spades when a whole new word had to be created to describe his entirely subjective journalism style. They're back! You know they couldn't miss this one! This week, your favorite former puppeteers step back into the beloved chaos of The Muppet Show — but not the one that aired in the 1970s. Nope, it's the glammed-up, vaudeville-meets-pop-star spectacle of the 2026 Muppet Show special featuring guest star Sabrina Carpenter, live from the Muppet Theater and streaming on Disney+ and ABC. We unpack how this 50th-anniversary celebration revives the classic variety format with all your favorite foam-faced performers — Kermit desperately trying to herd chickens and pigs in wigs, Miss Piggy insisting she's still the biggest star on any stage, and Gonzo's chaos meter cranked to eleven. Carpenter brings her musical chops (and a generous helping of charm) to the upright mayhem, dueting, slinging drinks, (quite literally) and even very nearly out-divaing Miss Piggy. Along the way, we'll share our own takes on all of these brand new, but still timeless performances, and why The Muppet Show reboot somehow feels like both a love letter to its past and a neon sign pointing toward its future. Because at the end of the day — “It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights…” and it's definitely time to let the Muppets have their moment again. It's The Mup-pet Show! No, really! It's back! For one episode, at least. Can four fans who've been marinating in the original show for nearly 5 years be objective about “new” performers and writers? Can the modern, corporate Muppets capture the organic magic of the shaggier original? Will Sabrina Carpenter release our inner manchild or leave us floating like islands in the stream? Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez were mic'd up during the AFC Championship game in Denver and from the encouragement from Vrabel and McDaniels to the silence of Gonzo, New England made themselves more likeable.
How would you grade Christian Gonzalez's year? Is he worth a MASSIVE contract? Do the Pats even need to overpay? Jones & Keefe tell it like it is.
In hour 2 of Jones & Keefe, the guys try and decide who really should be a first-balloter. Rob Bradford drops in to pick apart the Red Sox offseason moves (or lack thereof), and Gonzo's big year gets graded.
Lauren Windsor, political journalist and documentarian, joins Deepak Puri, CEO of The Democracy Labs, to talk about gonzo journalism and the need to report on a story with integrity and commitment to the truth. She draws a sharp distinction between her work and that of people who use deceptive tactics to appeal to less media-savvy audiences and create a false narrative. Deepak and Lauren talk about: The value of undercover reporting to hold politicians accountable Rules of the road for activist journalists Advice for victims of deceptive video campaigns Lauren's documentary Gonzo for Democracy #TheDemLabs #Journalism #EconomicJustice #SocialJustice #GonzoforDemocracy#GonzoJournalism #ElectionIntegrity #PoliticalJournalism #MediaLiteracy #Democracy #Accountability #Disinformation #DocumentaryFilm theundercurrent.tv TheDemLabs.org

Keeper of the Light, Ty Law is live in studio. What he said to Gonzo, the crowd at Gillette, if Jarrett Stidham could ball out and beat the Pats and more!
Lionel delivers his signature brand of "garbanzo journalism," tackling the "dog of a case" surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination and the enduring mysteries of Building 7. Lionel takes aim at the legacy of Hunter S. Thompson, arguing the "Gonzo" icon was overrated, even as authorities reopen the investigation into his 2005 death. Listeners join the fray to vet "stupid people" with controversial questions about gender, debate the inconsistencies in Jeffrey Epstein's autopsy, and challenge Catholic doctrines regarding Limbo and suicide.
