There are many alternative things you can find to do during your stay in South Korea! There are lots of things you can do while in South Korea!  Things to do indoors, things to do outdoors, and things you can only do in Korea!  In this episode we share so of these alternative things to do while in Korea along with our own experiences. Scott, Adam, and Marco are joined by guest Michael DeLorenzo to talk about the different things you can do while in South Korea and the Changwon area that you might not know about. Our guest, Michael DeLorenzo, has lived in South Korea for the past 8 years.  He’s originally from the United States and is a teacher at Changwon National University.  He has been running a group in Changwon called the ‘Changwon Culture and Activity Group' for the past 4 ½ years, and he joins us to share in all the different activities that they group does and why the group exists. We each share in our own experiences of fun, strange, indoors, outdoors, and craziest things we’ve done while living in South Korea (combined +27 years) including screen rooms, singing rooms, festivals and concerts, mystery dinners, movie nights, ghost hunting, and even hiking in North Korea! The word "barae" is an indigenous term that refers to the act of picking sea plants and clams from the tidal flats or rocks along the beach. Baraegil Road is a walking trail that follows the very road that Namhae residents used to take on their way to do barae work. The five-hour course takes visitors to such scenic spots as Seochon Beach or Pebble Beach and allows them to glimpse into the resilient lives of those who lived in Namhae many years ago.

'Barae' adalah bahasa dialek khusus daerah Namhae dan berarti kegiatan yang mengambil rumput laut atau jenis kerang di tanah lumpur. Jalan Baraegil dibuat sebagai kursus perjalanan kaki berdasarkan jalan yang ditapaki oleh para penduduk di Namhae untuk mencari rezeki. Sambil berjalan kaki di jalan itu, bisa menikmati pemandangan laut. Diantara kurusus perjalanan kaki yang membutuhkan 5 jam, kita bisa menemukan Pantai Sachon, Pantai Mongdol, dll, serta juga menemukan penampilan masyarakat Namhae yang telah menjalani kehidupan di lingkungan yang tidak baik.

Cette semaine nous continuons nos pérégrinations au sud de la péninsule avec une exploration de Baraegil, un éco-sentier établi le long des côtes de Namhae.Cette route parsemée de sites magnifiques tire son nom de « Barae », un terme du dialecte local qui signifie la croyance des habitants selon laquelle la mer est la source de la vie et du mot coréen « gil » qui veut dire route ou chemin.Oh Areum productrice à KBS WORLD Radio nous convie aujourd’hui à une promenade sur le parcours n°1, le Daraengi Jiget-gil qui s'étend sur 16 kilomètres, depuis le port de Pyeongsan au village de Daraengi, en passant, entre autres, par la plage de sable Sachon et la plage de galets Seongu.

Con đường Barae ở huyện Namhae, tỉnh Nam Gyeongsang, gồm 14 cung đường nhỏ dẫn đến khắp các vùng miền Namhae, bao gồm cả làng ruộng bậc thang Daraengi nổi tiếng. Ngôi làng này từng được kênh truyền hình CNN của Mỹ giới thiệu là một trong 50 danh lam thắng cảnh nổi bật tại Hàn Quốc. Bước bộ trên những cung đường của con đường Barae, ngắm nhìn những thửa ruộng xanh rì, vịnh nước phẳng lặng, biển cả êm đềm,….là khoảng thời gian chúng ta tìm về với thiên nhiên, lắng nghe âm thanh mộc mạc của cuộc sống. Hơn thế nữa, ghé thăm làng ruộng bậc thang Daraengi và thưởng ngoạn vẻ đẹp thanh bình nhưng cũng vô cùng đặc sắc của nơi đây, trao đôi lời chào với người dân bản địa, thưởng thức món ăn đặc sản địa phương,… sẽ là những trải nghiệm mới mẻ không thể quên trong những ngày đầu hè.

Boriam (Am Bồ Đề) ở huyện Namhae, tỉnh Nam Gyeongsang, tọa lạc trên ngọn núi Geumsan (Cẩm Sơn), hướng về vùng biển phía Nam bán đảo Hàn Quốc, được xây dựng từ 1.300 năm về trước. Là một trong ba nơi cầu nguyện lớn nhất tại Hàn Quốc, Boriam còn nổi tiếng với pho tượng Phật Quan Thế Âm Bồ tát trong điện Bokwang (Bửu Quang) và bức Hải tượng Quan Âm linh thiêng bên bờ biển, luôn lắng nghe lời nguyện cầu của Phật tử. Trong không khí hân hoan đón mừng ngày lễ Phật Đản, toàn bộ am Bồ Đề chìm trong sắc màu rực rỡ của vô số đèn lồng hoa sen, đan xen với muôn đóa hoa xuân khoe sắc phủ khắp ngọn núi. Đến Boriam vào thời điểm này để lắng nghe đôi câu kinh cầu, thành tâm bái Phật, sẽ khiến lòng ta thêm nhẹ nhàng, bình lặng.

Cette semaine, nous mettons le cap plein sud pour une visite du temple bouddhiste Boriam, à l’occasion de l'anniversaire de Bouddha qui tombe le 3 mai cette année et est la plus grande fête religieuse célébrée par les bouddhistes au pays du Matin clair. Depuis quelques semaines déjà, les nombreux temples disséminés aux quatre coins du territoire, sont en plein préparatifs et suspendent des lanternes de lotus colorées dans leur jardin pour éclairer le monde et prier pour la santé et le bien-être. Cette fois-ci c’est Oh Areum, productrice à KBS WORLD Radio, qui nous sert de guide pour une visite de ce petit temple situé à Namhae dans la province de Gyeongsang du Sud

Der Tempel liegt auf dem Berg Geumsan der Insel Namhae und ist bekannt für seine grandiose Aussicht auf das koreanische Südmeer.
