Content Warnings: NSFW, 18+, wide ranging and frank mental health discussion Amber aka TheSpaceJamber returns after two years as we get to catch up and talk about life and everything that's been going on recently! We first get to catch up and chat for a bit before diving right back into one of Amber's main passions, Danny Phantom. We talk about the series again (listen to their original episode linked below for more Danny Phantom discussion) before Amber talks about an actual play series they ran for a tabletop roleplaying live stream (links to the stream also below!) We segue into the realm of tabletop roleplaying games. Amber also talks about being ENNIE nominated in the TTRPG space and the work they've been doing with Flabbergasted and Necrobiotic. Amber also reveals that they're working on the latest CHEW tabletop rpg (based on the Image comic) Then Amber and I talk about mental health. Amber talks about the past two years and her experiences. Amber talks about the importance of therapy. The discussion is wide ranging and frank, but worthwhile. We wrap things up talking about crochet. From how it helps Amber with a number of things, to the creativity, and how they'd recommend learning/getting into the world of crochet. More than a Recap The Terrible Warriors exists to help empower you to feel confident enough to play and run the games we enjoy here. Which is why this is much more than a recap episode, it is as much a part of our "actual play” as the rest of the story we have presented. Every GM needs to have a session, especially after a major battle or a story arc that has concluded, to take stock and let their players recount the events in their own words. A recap session like this helps equip the GM with specific information about what their players are interested in and what, up to this point, has stuck with them the most. And it equips the players with a renewed sense of motivation and inspiration as they remember why they are invested in seeing this story through. Two siblings and their guide set out to cross the Titan mountains to reach a new promised land. At a campfire in the caravan camp strangers meets to share their stories… Spoiler warning: This episode follows the first chapter in The Promised Land adventure included in the Symbaroum core rulebook. The Dark War ended twenty years ago but the land of Alberator lies in waste. Following direction from their Queen Korinthia, the survivors have migrated north of the Titan mountain range into a new land she has dubbed Ambria. There they have met the barbarian clans of the Davokar forest, which sits upon the ruins of ancient Symbaroum. And also the Elder Folk such as the elves who warn the humans that any trangressions into Davokar will be met with death as there is a darkness that sleeps in the woods that must never be allowed to be woken. But before we can learn more about the politics and dangers of the region we must first arrive in the region. And winter is early in the mountains and the caravan drivers warn that it may already be too late to make the crossing until the spring. This week, we welcome Mitchell Wallace from Penny for a Tale to discuss his new game Necrobiotic, which was recently successfully funded on Kickstarter. Necrobiotic is a melancholy dystopian game set in Florence, Italy in the year 2100, where humanity is clawing back from the brink of collapse by creating constructs from the bodies of the dead to perform menial labor. You can find Mitchell on Twitter at the handle @PennyforaTale, and you can visit Penny for a Tale online at pennyforatale.com. Links to the Necrobiotic landing page on Kickstarter can be found in both locations. Justin connects with Mitch Wallace, co-founder of Penny for a Tale and one of the team leads behind Necrobiotic, which is currently in it’s final week on Kickstarter. Necrobiotic is a macabre dystopian setting where the dead outnumber the living and in order to farm enough food to survive society turns to their corpses, reanimates them as automaton constructs, and sends them out to work. Necrobiotic is also a tabletop RPG that chooses to use a deck of cards to generate characters and play the game, rather than traditional dice. Mitch shares with us how his team discovered this setting and why they settled on the card deck mechanics they’ve embraced. You still have a week left to sign up and support Necrobiotic on kickstarter by visiting: kickstarter.com/projects/pennyforatale/necrobiotic You can also follow along with everything Penny for a Tale is doing by heading over to pennyforatale.com And give Mitch a follow on Twitter @penny_tale Music is licensed through Epidemic Sound Follow us on Twitter at @dicewarriors and you can support the show by becoming a patron at patreon.com/terriblewarriors
