Send us a textWhat drives someone to build a full-sized airplane in their basement? The same thing that makes us question insurance company CEOs, contemplate multiverses, or find reasons to stay alive during our darkest moments – the search for meaning. From the moment we descend into Dylan's basement workshop, surrounded by airplane parts and half-finished projects, this episode takes us on a journey through the things we build to outlast ourselves. Dylan's four-seater aircraft isn't just a hobby; it's a legacy he hopes his grandchildren will inherit (though he jokes they might use it to end his family line). This ambitious project, planned for completion in 2026, becomes a metaphor for purpose throughout our conversation. We pivot to discuss the recent shooting of a United Healthcare CEO, noting the strangely muted public reaction compared to other violent events. Digging deeper, we explore how the insurance industry's high denial rates (United's exceeds 30%) and massive profit margins have created a system where essential care becomes a business decision. This leads us to question how regulated industries often lack the competitive pressures that might otherwise force better practices. The most profound moments come when we share personal insights about mental health and suicide prevention. Referencing philosopher Albert Camus, we contemplate his assertion that deciding whether life is worth living is the only serious philosophical problem. What emerges is a surprisingly hopeful perspective: perhaps if we could see our lives as our own sitcoms – free from others' expectations and judgments – we might find more reasons to stick around and see what happens next.Whether you're building an airplane, questioning corporate ethics, or simply trying to find your purpose, this episode offers raw, unfiltered perspective on what makes a life worth living. Join us as we navigate these complex territories with humor, vulnerability, and occasional detours into carpeting ceilings and fitted sheet frustrations.

Antônio Vilas-Boas was abducted from his family farm in 1952 by 5-foot-tall humanoids dressed in "...tight-fitting siren-suit, made of soft, thick, unevenly striped, gray material." He was stripped of his clothes, covered in clear gel, and used as a, "...good stallion to improve their own stock". The alleged aliens then gave him a tour of their UFO before placing him back at his home. This story contributed to the argument of what extraterrestrials wanted from earthlings... could it possibly be that they were investigating human reproduction and genetics? We often ask, Where is God? I look for Him, but I do not see Him. I listen for Him, but I do not hear Him. It is darkso very dark. Not pitch black perhaps, but my life is lived in shadows. Really Interesting Women The PodcastEp. 142 Kate GrenvilleKate Grenville is one of Australia's most celebrated writers. Her international bestseller The Secret River was awarded local and overseas prizes, has been adapted for the stage and as an acclaimed television miniseries, and is now a much-loved classic. Kate has now published 16 books, many of which have won major literary prizes. They've all been published around the world and all the novels have been translated into many languages. Some of her other novels include Sarah Thornhill, The Lieutenant, Dark Places and the Orange Prize winner The Idea of Perfection, the bestselling A Room Made of Leaves and Women's Prize shortlisted Restless Dolly Maunder. It was a great chat. We talked about her influences both personal and literary...and how she lamented the fact that in the 60's her literary influences (such as they were) seemed to be English...until she discovered Patrick White. And then, at age 13, it all changed. And she still cherishes and is influenced by a first edition novel of his. She explained why she had no faith in The Secret River when she first sent it to her publisher. "Is this a book?", she asked. The answer, thankfully, was an emphatic "YES". She also explains why, when she was approached about adapting that book to the stage, her only request was that they didn't undertake a faithful adaptation. Her imagination is celebrated internationally. Her intellect is obvious...and she's a lot of fun.Her new book, 'Unsettled' will be published very soon.Head to my bio for a link to her podcast episode. Is shunning the most insidious of all cult practices? In today's episode Lindy and our guests, researchers Windy and Savin from Roehampton University, define shunning and discuss how it's used deliberately as a tool by coercively controlling groups to threaten and impose social death for those who question the rules. Savin and Windy introduce listeners to their research, and the movement sweeping the world to make mandated shunning a crime. This episode is the first of four in a mini series on shunning. Hello, and welcome to Entangled! The podcast where we explore the science of consciousness, the true nature of reality, and what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience.Today I'm joined by Chance Gardner, artist and producer of the Magical Egypt series. In this conversation, we discuss pioneer of ancient Egypt research, John Anthony West, and how his book Serpent in the Sky influenced Chance's interest in Egypt. We consider the two models of ancient Egypt, and the importance of icons and symbols. We discuss Eastern philosophy as top down and Western as bottoms up. Next, we discuss the principle of “As above, so below”, and the significance of organic geometry. From there, we discuss the neters of Egyptian mythology as “principles”, not “gods”. We talk about Edgar Mitchell's kundalini experience returning from the moon, and the concept of different planes of self. Chance considers cities as people farms, predicated on us not knowing our true nature. We consider the 128 sidhis known to the ancient Egyptians, serving as deeper organs of perception.Chance describes Angkor Wat as the stairway to heaven, and how it contains the secrets of kundalini. We discuss devas and asuras, and what they tell us about the history of humanity. We then discuss esoteric art and the recurrence of the third eye in Eastern spiritual traditions. From there, we talk about white and black magic and differentials in power. We discuss how the meaning of myth has been inverted, and consider evil as an interruption to the organizational pattern. We then discuss fraternal orders and ceremonial magic. Chance and I consider where humanity is within the yuga cycle, and reference the Three Body Problem. Chance discusses mandalas and their impact on brain coherence, and how hieroglyphics serve as a lesson in syncretism.Next, Chance explains how he first met John Anthony West and get involved in Magical Egypt. We talk about the age of the Sphinx, and theorize about its missing partner. We discuss the moon voyages and whether the public footage of those events has been edited and censored. Chance describes the hypnogogic realms and how the mind unfurls in higher dimensions. We consider the intersection of Egyptology, intelligence agencies, and the phallus of Osiris. Chance describes anamnesis as the recognition of fundamental truth. We then discuss how Heka differs from our traditional understanding of magic, and discuss hierarchies of consciousness. Chance describes how ceremonial magic attracts more nefarious individuals like Michael Aquino, founder of the Temple of Set. We discuss Disneyland and Club 33, and the tradition of human sacrifice.Next, we talk about the relationship between Egypt and Atlantis. Chance describes how the ancient Egyptians used sacred art to record the structure and functioning of consciousness. We end this conversation discussing how the brain is built to work in symbols. This Outro is titled “How Did the Egyptians Know Consciousness?” and begins at episode 81. Faith to be healed isn't as hard as faith to stop struggling when we're not healed. God's not against us when He's leading us through a deep valley. It takes great faith when the darkness is allowed to come and strip us of our pride and impatience. When we're emptied of self, we will be filled with God. Pull up a seat! It's time to get in the Halloween spirit with some campfire stories. In this special episode, Crow's Feet writers and editors share some dark tales and memories of lore and legend just right for the season. Ever had an eerie experience you couldn't explain? We've got a strange feeling you're going to love “Cowbells and Ouija Boards” by Jan M. Flynn and “The Guardians of Dark Places” by C.M. Barrett (read by Jane Trombley). If ghost tales are more your thing, feel the goosebumps as Soozie Campbell tells “A Chilling Story” and Crow's Feet founder Nancy Peckenham spins a tale about her great-great grandparents, “Margaret and Christopher.” The holiday wouldn't be complete without a creature double feature! Two pieces – “The Werewolf of Defiance, Ohio” by Betsy Allen and “The Jersey Devil,” a poem by Jean Feldeisen – just might have you looking over your shoulder. And because we can't resist leaving you with a smile, we treat you to a fun spooky season memory: “Gomez Addams and the Pumpkin Caper” by Nancy Franklin. Enjoy our show and Happy Halloween!Support the show

Even in the lowest of places, God blessed Joseph and caused him to prosper. God will have His Hand upon us in our dark places, too!
