O'Connor was also a standout student-athlete, playing soccer all four years and serving as co-captain of the men's team his senior year. O'Connor began his career at Procter & Gamble in 1979 as a Brand Assistant and then Assistant Brand Manager, moving to Memphis, where he still lives today, for them. In 1982, he moved to the advertising agency John Malmo Advertising, later Archer-Malmo, as a Vice President and then Executive VP until 1992. In 1992, O'Connor co-founded O'Connor Kenny Partners. As CEO, he led the advertising agency for 12 years. In 2004, he started his marketing consulting practice, OKPI, working with telemedicine startup StatLink, among other clients. In 2015, he leveraged his interest in personal development and decision-making by writing his first book, Gumptionade. This nonfiction work focuses on personal development and the power of gumption: courage, resourcefulness, and common sense harnessed together. Continuing our exploration of ecofeminist theory and practice, March's edition puts an emphasis on ecofeminist practice and actions we all can take to put women in places of power to (re)generate the healing changes and salves we need in society to work together to overcome greed and land grabs, and work for a future of sane decision making in the direction of catastrophe prevention, including in the rebuilding of LA. Hear from Ava Park, Priestess of the Temple of the Goddess of Orange County, tell us a bit about her women-only organization and a bit about her philosophy and then go on to tell us about how members of her community were impacted by the fires, including a member who called her in the middle of the night because she had lost everything, except the clothes on her back. The UK's first safer drug consumption room will open in Glasgow's East End on Monday. It will allow users to take illegal substances under medical supervision in the hope they will get help with their addiction. Known as the Thistle, it will be open 365 days a year from 9am to 9pm.  But Scotland has the worst rate of drug deaths in Europe and with this facility finally ready after 10 years in the making, some are questioning if it will reduce drug deaths.  Niall Paterson speaks to our Scotland correspondent Connor Gillies, who has been to look inside the service and shares more about how it will work.  Plus, Professor Catriona Matheson who specialises in substance use at the University of Stirling and is a former lead of Scotland's drug deaths task force, joins Niall to discuss the costs and potential benefits.  Producer: Soila ApparicioEditor: Philly Beaumont

Then, it's over to the States to see what health recommendations RFK Jr. is making. Hopefully they'll be less effective than the ones he made in Samoa where there was a huge outbreak of measles and subsequent deaths as a result of his vaccine scaremongering. Then, along with hundreds of tractors, irate farmers and a smattering of Brexity types, to Westminster we go where the farming community have descended to protest against having to pay inheritance again, at a discounted rate. There is some sympathy for some farmers but, as far as Marina and Jemma are concerned, Jeremy Clarkson, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Farage can do one. They all either own acres and acres of tax dodging or caused the farming community endless pain and hassle due to Brexit. The irony is strong. Dr Dina Siddiqi is a distinguished feminist anthropologist whose work delves into critical development, transnational feminist theory, and the anthropology of labor and Islam. Lola interviewed her for this episode turning its attention to the regions of the world known and Israel and Palestine on this one-year anniversary of Hamas' retaliatory invasion of Israel. In Lola's commentary, she talks about her own life and what it means to her to think critically about the forces at work in the Palestinian people's current situation. She begs the listener to do her research and look back at this region's history, peoples, and cultures. The music featured this month is "The Urgent Call of Palestine" by Zeinab Shaath.
