“Encased In Chrome” serves as the latest blistering offering from Canadian-based hardcore quintet, Trench. Guitarist Bryce Jassman recently caught up with IUF to discuss the band's journey and the production process behind the new EP, as well as the bright outlook for 2022 and beyond. It seems as if metallic hardcore music has seen a good amount of artists come into the forefront in modern times; Add Trench to that list. The new EP is filled with a few twists and turns inside some of the most intense 11 minutes you'll ever experience. They've come a long way since 2016, and this new chapter for Trench is setting up to be the biggest one yet. Join us for an in-depth conversation with Bryce Jassman, and be sure to buy and stream Trench's new album, “Encased In Chrome,” out now everywhere via New Damage Records.Stay connected with Trench, visit: https://trenchthc.bandcamp.com/, https://www.facebook.com/trenchTHC, and https://www.instagram.com/t_r_e_n_c_h/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/
Shall we dedicate this episode to Taylor Hawkins? Yeah, let's do that. You might like to read some words I wrote about the great man's passing at Spoook.substack.com. But for now, let's get down to business. And the business of this podcast is rock.On this episode I'm speaking to immortal megadude Liam Cormier, chief wailer in Toronto, Ontario hardcore punks Cancer Bats. This, I believe, is the band's first interview since the departure of founding member Scott Middleton, and so we dig deep into who's doing what now, how the new songs that make up excellent seventh album Psychic Jailbreak - out April 15th on New Damage Records - came about, and riding with wild horses in the Mexican desert. But of course! Yeah, it's a super fun episode this one.The James McMahon Music Podcast is a Spoook Media production. Spoook is also a record label, a promoter, a shop, a Substack - it's many things. TEETH is a project that was birthed out of a necessity to release a lot of pent up anger and it shows in their music, these guys are HEAVY, however my chat with them was not. I got to talk to Blake Prince and Chris LeMasters about the formation of the band, the singles they've put out so far and when we might expect the first album to drop. We also talk about the current music climate and some of their favourite movies. They recommended that I watch the American version of Funny Games, starring Naomi Watts, Tim Roth and Michael Pitt and just as they had promised: It. Was. Weird! Definitely recommend watching it if you're into mindf*** movies. A big shout out and thank you to Jake over at New Damage Records for the introduction and help setting this interview up. Host of ‘Scene Daddy Interviews,’ Ian Hates, gets to hang out with one of his favorite people again, but this time, he’s brought some friends. In the last installment of live and in-person interviews from the Worcester Palladium during the Capstan headlining tour, Ian welcomes Loeden Learn, Corbin Giroux, and returning friend of the show Adam Clarke of Rarity to the show! The guys catch up on everything Rarity downstairs at the Palladium while the show is going on upstairs (and sometimes it sounds like it’s happening right next to them). Let’s not ruin everything they go over since it goes in a lot of directions (of course), but, know that they definitely talk about the new album ‘The Longest Lonesome’ out on New Damage Records and a lot more.Listen to the full, exclusive interview here

Dan Thompson sings and plays guitar in the post-hardcore band Sparrows, straight outta Ontario. Dan is Canadian but I don't hold that against him. He joined me at One Sellin' Out Plaza to provide a crucial international perspective, like how back home he and his wife could have a baby and not be in debt to a private hospital system for like 10 years but I think I cut that part out because being debt-free is extremely not punk.
