Les, Kurt, and Jason are ready to fight the moment the podcast starts, and the fighting is livelier than any on screen in Hulu's original series “All's Fair.” But first, there's no Blac Chyna report, but that's only because Kurt has an update on Wendy Williams! Then, it's time for the guys to (try to) unpack Ryan Murphy's new series starring Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash Betts, and Glenn Close (with guest stars Judith Light, Grace Gummer, and Kate Berlant). Despite a stunning lineup of talented actresses, All's Fair is built around Kim Kardashian, and it… would make the Park Ranger proud. But it's not Kim's acting that's the main problem, here. The bigger issue is the writing that is both over-the-top and under-explained (unless we're to believe that Kim is a super rich and successful lawyer that also may be driving Uber on the side). If you want a super long tangent about the over abundance of indentured servitude in sitcoms, than you have come to the right place. It's been a buzzy week at the Vogue offices. On Tuesday night, Zohran Mamdani made history as the first Muslim, the first person of South Asian descent, and the youngest in a century to hold the Mayoral position. Vogue's Fashion News Editor, José Criales-Unzueta, joins Chloe and Nicole to discuss the newly announced mayor's style — along with that of his effortlessly chic Gen Z illustrator wife, Rama Duwaji, who stunned last night in a black lace Ulla Johnson skirt and Zeid Hijazi top. Together, they explore how fashion choices can reflect our beliefs, values, and sense of identity. Then, writer Mattie Kahn comes to the Vogue offices to talk to Chloe about Vogue's December cover story that she wrote about Timothee Chalamet. She talks about the challenges of pinning down time to speak with the busy actor who was filming the newest Dune film in Budapest and also working on performance art promotional videos for his upcoming film, Marty Supreme, set to go to the big screen on Christmas Day.. Plus, Kim Kardashian gets candid with Chloe about taking on her first major acting role (apart from American Horror Story) as Allura Grant in the new Hulu series All's Fair. The show features an all-star cast of women — including Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Glenn Close, and Niecy Nash — the latter of whom Kim says mentored her in acting. Ryan Murphy, who created the series, said he was inspired by the line “Not only am I a lawyer in real life, I play one on TV,” which he felt perfectly suited Kim. He also drew inspiration from the well-known Hollywood lawyer Laura Wasser — whose father, notably, represented Kim's parents during their separation decades before representing Kim in her own divorce. Kim also shares behind-the-scenes details of her fabulous on-screen wardrobe, from a 1992 Jean Paul Gaultier suit with a surprising back reveal to the iconic Donna Karan power suits she sourced with her stylist, Soki Mak, for the role.

Considering the number of iconic women that have worked on Ryan Murphy projects, it's shocking Glenn Close hasn't. That's changing with Hulu's All's Fair. “I was intimidated until I started to understand the tone. And once I understood the tone, then it became really fun,” Close told Newsweek's H. Alan Scott. Close plays Dina, a powerful lawyer in an all-female firm that includes actors Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash and Naomi Watts, among others. “To bring all that energy...and all that experience together is bound to create something really unique.” It also created a special bond. “This group of women, they'll be my friends for the rest of my life.” Part of what keeps Close working, beyond immense talent, is that she refuses to repeat herself—“I'm basically up for anything as long as it represents a new exploration.” She'll next be seen in Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, offered the same week as All's Fair. “I got two Ryans in the same week. For our final chilling installment of Spooky Szn, we revisit the American horror film that fundamentally changed the genre in the early 2000s: Gore Verbinski's "The Ring (2002)."This isn't a slasher or a jump-scare festival; it's a cold, slow-burn mystery wrapped in a shroud of eerie, washed-out green and blue cinematography. We praise the masterful sense of looming dread created by the ticking seven-day clock and Naomi Watts' compelling performance as the investigative journalist Rachel Keller. "The Ring" stands out for its success in translating the chilling atmosphere of Japanese horror (Ringu) for a Western audience and its brilliant use of mundane technology—VCRs, telephones, and static-filled TVs—as conduits for supernatural terror. However, the hosts also tackle the film's legacy of techno-fear and its dark, nihilistic ending. We discuss the film's lasting cultural impact, which paved the way for a wave of J-horror remakes, and the truly unsettling nature of Samara's curse. The ultimate question we pose is the chilling moral dilemma the movie leaves us with: Is it better to accept your fate, or doom a stranger to save your child?Tune in for a deep dive into the horror classic that made a whole generation terrified of their own television sets. This episode VIDEO is live on YouTube AND Spotify!Follow us on Instagram and TikTok to get ep sneak peaks and find out what's coming next. We got chatting about the Brisbane school that taught the wrong topic for a Year 12 exam, and things we learned at school that somehow stuck with us, like how to spell disappear or how to sneak a semicolon into a text. Then we lost our minds over the first reviews for Wicked: For Good, with critics calling it life-changing, tear-jerking and pure musical magic. The Glossy’s were juicy today too, including Lily Allen’s fake Instagram accounts, Kim Kardashian’s “fashion emergency” involving Naomi Watts and lube, Travis Kelce’s tribute to Taylor, and Apple Martin officially stepping into the spotlight. Plus, one mum took teaching a lesson to the next level by sending her kid to school with a Ziploc bag of water instead of a bottle. Iconic.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This chilling supernatural horror film, directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, A Cure for Wellness) and based on the hit Japanese movie Ringu by Hideo Nakata. This modern classic redefined horror for the 2000s with its atmospheric dread, psychological tension, and one unforgettable cursed videotape. The film stars Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, King Kong) as Rachel Keller, a Seattle journalist investigating a mysterious videotape rumored to kill anyone who watches it within seven days. Alongside her ex-boyfriend Noah Clay (played by Martin Henderson – Everest, Grey's Anatomy), Rachel uncovers a terrifying supernatural mystery surrounding Samara Morgan, a vengeful child spirit portrayed by Daveigh Chase (Donnie Darko, Lilo & Stitch). Supporting performances include Brian Cox (Succession, X2: X-Men United) as Richard Morgan, and David Dorfman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Wrinkle in Time) as Aidan Keller, Rachel's eerily perceptive son. Iconic and highly searched moments include the “seven days” phone call, the first death reveal, Rachel discovering the well, and the now-legendary TV crawl scene, which remains one of the most terrifying moments in horror cinema. With its haunting visuals, moody Pacific Northwest setting, and unforgettable score by Hans Zimmer, The Ring became a defining supernatural thriller that influenced a generation of horror films. A masterclass in slow-burn terror and emotional storytelling, The Ring proves that true horror lies not just in what you see… but in what you can't unsee. Day 24 – Episode 174: The Ring (2002)On Day 24 of The Conner & Smith Show's 31 Days of Halloween, Ryan and I revisit Gore Verbinski's The Ring (2002) — the film that defined early 2000s horror and made us all afraid of our TVs.
