Welcome to Showcasing House Music DJ Mixes by dattrax!! Hello Fellow HOUSE FIENDS!!Can't believe it's been over a month since we had a chance to post a new house mix... where does the time go? With work and family there's hardly enough time for house... it's a crime.Jim, my DJ Partner and I are beat junkies and are constantly hunting for new tracks. Not "new" tracks meaning that they have to be current, just new to us. That's the great thing about house, the music is timeless and because it is so powerful when you hear it you, you instantly associate it with a fond memory. Constantly need an influx of 30-40tracks each month to keep us excited.Once in a while we find a house producer that just blows our minds (even though almost every track we buy blows our minds), so then we go raid their entire catalogue of tracks on one of our fav mp3 stores, and find a half dozen or more gems.Last producer I remember that we bought that many at one time was Sta Shiprinski. There are many house beat makers but the tracks that resonate are made with a house groove. You can't put a finger on it because it's different every time, but WOW... does it impact you. Especially after a long day of stressful work- CRANK it up!Anyways, we are so excited to find Nick Curly. Think this mix is almost a Nick Curly tribute because I think 6-8 of his tracks are on here out of the 30 or so. (That reminds me, I want to do a Phonique tribute some time in the future.)Curly's "Piano in the Dark" is the most beautiful house vocal track we've heard in 2012 so far. Every part of it! Hands in the air and close your eyes! The way house makes you feel every time.All the other tracks in this mix are killer too. Too many great house producers to really name. Just Come with Me! Here is what I got up to whilst travelling in Asia.. Deep House with a soft & sexy undertone, add a sprinkling of tech-house with a dash of hip-hop. The ambition of blending it all might have been betrayed by the execution but what the heck.. I had fun with this one. Join my journey and fly with me into the Deeper, sexy side. The set is melodic but eclectic and at times...challenging. It includes some original edits and two samples, which I could not identify (though I am sure some of you will), taken from C&M Production's sets. From 118 to 127 bpm, with loops , sliced beats, samples and change of keys We are travelling at the rather gregarious speed of sound (not the speed of light), towards a Deep n' Sexy climax... Just come with me ;) To consume at work, at home or for a long journey. It starts as a very accesible chill/lounge set but might challenge some listeners later into the mix. My advice, just let it roll and take you over. I had 3 hours of new tunes mixed ( all courtesy of the long flights to and from Australia), I will post the second part once I see how this one is received. As to the Aki Bergen jams ending the mix, they all point out to an artist producing faultless rich Deep gems... I have 2 sets lined up, the continuation of this one and the up-tempo mix I have been unable to wrap up for a month. I also have the vague outline of a trancy/house set, which I will have ready for the Xmas/NYE parties to come..
