Joy reckons the Village Shop customer survey drawn up by Susan and Emma is too comprehensive and offers to cut it down. Susan won't give way though, before explaining the survey's purpose to Jazzer. Both him and Joy wax lyrical about a superior shopping experience at Underwoods Local, pushing Susan into agreeing to take a look for herself. Later on, after bumping into Jazzer again, Susan is gobsmacked to discover Clarrie is working there. Clarrie tells Susan most of the village have been in already - and they're all dead impressed. Susan fears it could be the end of the Village Shop.Chris is at The Stables trimming some of the horses' hooves. He catches up with Alice and they discuss taking Martha to Peggy's funeral, agreeing that she should go. They arrange to meet up later over a curry to discuss preparing Martha for the day itself. At lunchtime Alice is joined by Joy at the Playground and they talk about how Alice's family are coping with Peggy's death, before comparing notes on the hard times both have been through recently. Joy then prompts Alice, she and Chris have cracked co-parenting, so she doesn't have to cope with everything on her own, does she? But then Chris phones and tells Alice that Imaani, the nursery manager, has called them in for an unscheduled meeting on Friday to talk about making sure Martha's school-ready. Chris doesn't think it signifies much, but Alice is unsettled by it. Later she calls Chris and cancels their catch-up later; there's things she needs to do at The Stables.

Songfestival Troubadours is terug! Chiel en Jeroen spreken in deze seizoensopener met Songfestivalvedette Edsilia Rombley. Over haar twee (!) deelnames op het Eurovisie Songfestival, in 1998 en 2007. Hoe zit dat toch met die gouden jurk die ze droeg in Birmingham? Wat kreeg ze mee van haar favorietenrol met 'Hemel en aarde' dat jaar, hoe was haar band met haar concurrenten zoals Dana International en Imaani en hoe kijkt ze 25 jaar later terug op dit internationale succesverhaal?  Uiteraard wordt ook haar tweede deelname ('On top of the world') in 2007 uitgebreid besproken; wat deed haar besluiten om het nog eens te proberen? En had ze het lied niet liever in het Nederlands willen brengen? Her first paid gig was dancing as a shadow in one of Jocelyn Browns' videos and she has since graced stages across the world playing numerous prestigious venues as Tokyo's famous Blue Note club, Switzerland's Montreaux Jazz Festival and New York's The Filmore. She has performed on television, in the studio, and live with artists including Nile Rodgers, Chaka Khan, Maceo Parker, Philip Bailey, Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Gloria Gaynor, Incognito, Betty Wright, Omar, Mica Paris, Stephen Marley, Julian Marley, Leon Ware and Aswad. 
Featuring on no less than 12 albums by the celebrated Jazz Funk band Incognito she has become a long-standing favourite with the fans completing several world tours. Contributions for other acts include Urban Species, Reel People, Down to the Bone, Tru Faith & Dub Conspiracy and she has featured on 9 singles for dance outfit Copyright as well as tracks with The Layabouts. Her debut solo album 'Standing Tall' has been met with critical acclaim and described as ‘One of the most wonderful and memorable voices...” by Bluey of Incognito.

A musician, teacher, filmmaker and foster carer. Uk born with Jamaican roots, his love of drums began by playing in reggae and soul bands and later moving onto steel pan bands. As a session drummer he has played for the likes of Janet Kay & Victor Romero Evans, Noel McCoy, Imaani, Kevin Leo, Lazy Hammock & Laura Matthews. Having studied a masters in film production his projects range from documentaries to music videos, corporate to community projects. Fostering for 14 years supporting children between the ages of 5-14 years led to creating his short film Be-Longing going on to win awards including Canada Shorts Film Festival and Hollywood Just 4 Shorts.

Hij begeleidde artiesten als Kylie Minogue en Robbie Williams wanneer zij in Nederland waren en ook was hij de vaste tour begeleider van 2 Unlimited. Tijdens de uitzending belden ze met Imaani, de zangeres die Groot-Brittannië vertegenwoordigde tijdens het Eurovisie Songfestival in 1998. Imaani is één van de artiesten die André ook promootte. Raphael Loopro is een Nederlandse muzikant, die nu een internationale artiest is geworden. Hij is onderdeel van een viermansschap die het nummer 'Chica Africana' hebben gemaakt. Deze nieuw Europees-Afrikaanse compositie werd opgenomen in Zuid-Afrika samen met DJ Cosmo Zambia, Tay Grin en DJ Nathan Tunes en verder werd afgemixt in Duitsland, waar Raphael op dit moment woont. Tay Grin is één van de grootste hiphop-artiesten uit Oost-Afrika en is over vrijwel het hele continent bekend. DJ Cosmo Zambia is een zeer populaire producent uit Zambia en DJ Nathan Tunes is een populaire internationale diskjockey uit het warme hart van Afrika. Meer dan 65% van de Afrikanen zeggen dat 'Chica Africana' dit jaar dé zomerhit van 2021 wordt en in Zambia staat het nummer nu al op 2 in de hitlijsten. Verder was er ook weer een dag top vijf van een muzikale ster, met dit keer Alanis Morissette! 'Toute Fabienne'; dit keer niet op TV, maar op GoodLIFE Radio. Het programma Toute Fabienne is de radiovariant van het gelijknamige TV programma dat Fabienne de Vries in de jaren 90 dagelijks op de populaire muziekzender The Music Factory (TMF) presenteerde. Alleen nu in een nieuw jasje. Met alle elementen die je nog kent van Toute Fabienne op TV, zoals muziek, entertainment, kunst, cultuur en veel interactie. Just Come with Me! Here is what I got up to whilst travelling in Asia.. Deep House with a soft & sexy undertone, add a sprinkling of tech-house with a dash of hip-hop. The ambition of blending it all might have been betrayed by the execution but what the heck.. I had fun with this one. Join my journey and fly with me into the Deeper, sexy side. The set is melodic but eclectic and at times...challenging. It includes some original edits and two samples, which I could not identify (though I am sure some of you will), taken from C&M Production's sets. From 118 to 127 bpm, with loops , sliced beats, samples and change of keys We are travelling at the rather gregarious speed of sound (not the speed of light), towards a Deep n' Sexy climax... Just come with me ;) To consume at work, at home or for a long journey. It starts as a very accesible chill/lounge set but might challenge some listeners later into the mix. My advice, just let it roll and take you over. I had 3 hours of new tunes mixed ( all courtesy of the long flights to and from Australia), I will post the second part once I see how this one is received. I have 2 sets lined up, the continuation of this one and the up-tempo mix I have been unable to wrap up for a month. I also have the vague outline of a trancy/house set, which I will have ready for the Xmas/NYE parties to come..
