LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 11, 2026) – [THIS IS AN ENCORE EPISODE.] Artificial intelligence is moving fast — and Kentucky lawmakers are working to make sure the state can take advantage of new tools without sacrificing transparency, privacy or public trust. On this episode of 'Behind the Blue', Kentucky State Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe — a Lexington native and University of Kentucky alum — joins host Kody Kiser to talk about her path into public service, what she's hearing from constituents in Senate District 12, and how she views UK's land-grant mission of service to communities across the Commonwealth.  Bledsoe represents parts of Fayette County along with Woodford, Mercer and Boyle counties. In the conversation, she points to infrastructure — including roads and aging water and wastewater systems — as a major concern for the region, while also highlighting the role higher education, signature industries and health care play in central Kentucky's future.  The interview also explores Bledsoe's emerging leadership on technology policy, including Kentucky Senate Bill 4, which she describes as a framework for "responsible AI governance" within state government. Bledsoe explains that the goal is not to regulate every minor use of technology, but to establish guardrails for higher-risk, decision-making tools — including creating transparency around where and how AI is used, and building oversight to ensure accountability.  "AI is not spellcheck," Bledsoe said, emphasizing the need for stronger scrutiny when government systems generate new outputs or influence decisions. She also discusses concerns around deceptive AI-generated political content and the importance of ensuring voters can trust what they see — particularly in the final days leading up to an election.  Looking ahead, Bledsoe points to a wide range of challenges and opportunities — from consumer protection and privacy to safeguarding minors online — and says Kentucky will likely need to keep refining its approach as the technology evolves. She also describes how institutions like UK can help shape the state's AI future through research, workforce preparation and teaching students to be critical, responsible users of these tools. Eugene Amo-Dadzie has been fast his whole life. He knew it. His teachers knew it. His parents knew it.He just never actually tried. From the age of nine, Eugene was the fastest kid in the school. He grew up watching Usain Bolt and dreamed of the track. But running was always just a hobby — something to enjoy, never something to pursue. His parents pushed academics. His culture valued qualifications. And somewhere along the way, Eugene made a quiet peace with never finding out how good he actually was.For years he was the guy who said: if I had tried, I could have done it.Then, at 26, standing beside an athletics track in Woodford, his best friend turned to him and said: think you could put a pair of spikes on and beat these guys?In this Bite-Sized episode of Screw It Just DO It, Eugene tells the story of what happened when he finally said yes. A debut season that ended with a torn hamstring. A British Championship silver medal. A sub-10-second 100 metres. And a semi-final at the World Athletics Championships — where he lined up against the Olympic champion, the World champion, and the Commonwealth champion in the same race. All of it starting at 26. All of it built around a full-time accounting career, a wife, a daughter, and a job he loves.Key Takeaways- Why Eugene spent years believing in his talent without ever testing it — and what finally changed- What the Parable of the Talents taught him about buried potential- How to handle a setback that arrives before you have even properly started- What it takes to balance elite sport with a full-time career, a family, and faith

Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe also discuss the latest superstar performance from Jacob Misiorowski, a wild defensive decision by the Yankees and the triumphant return of Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn to the lineup. What about the other injury guys like Brandon Woodruff, Christian Yelich and Quinn Priester? Is the team any closer to making a change at shortstop? With Ángel Zerpa facing Tommy John surgery, will the Brewers ever send another player to the World Baseball Classic? In Three Up Three Down (38:30), they discuss CC Sabathia on the wall of honor, an unwelcome flashback, some ABS weirdness and the king of vulture wins, Aaron Ashby. In Remembrew When (58:00), there's no choice but to discuss Bill Hall on Mother's Day, and in Curt Blanche (1:01:00), Curt believes there's a far greater Mother's Day homer that we never discuss. Then, JR is joined by Brewers reliever Jake Woodford (1:07:00), whose Major League debut was delayed in the strangest of ways, when he was holed up with the St. Louis Cardinals in Milwaukee's Pfister Hotel following a COVID-19 outbreak among the team. Then, he's joined by prospect Andrew Fischer (1:13:00), who hit two home runs on Sunday and continues to pound the ball for Single-A Wisconsin.

You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” The Holy Spirit is not an “it”, but a “He.” He: Is sent by the Father Is a continuation of Christ's presence Dwells within believers Relates personally If the Holy Spirit is reduced to a force We try to use HIm rather than relate to HIm We misunderstand how transformation occurs Growth involves awareness of and responsiveness to the Spirit's presence.  The Holy Spirit Gives New Life John 3:5-8 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Spiritual life begins with the Spirit's work of regeneration He: Brings new birth Awakens spiritual understanding Initiates transformation We do not produce new life; we receive it.  Discipleship is not self-improvement. It is a new life lived out.  Without regeneration, spiritual growth is impossible.  We shift from human effort to divine initiation.  The Holy Spirit Indwells Every Believer 1 Cor. 6:19-20 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” Every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit This means: God is present within The believer becomes His temple Life is no longer self-owned Indwelling is not for “elite” Christians – it is universal The Christian life is not lived alone. We have the Holy Spirit in us.  God's presence is not external guidance, but internal reality Daily life becomes sacred space We live with God, not merely for God. The Holy Spirit Produces Transformation Gal. 5:16-25 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. The Spirit produces fruit that reflects Christ's character: Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness Self-Control The transformation is internal before it becomes external It's more than behavioral modification.  Only the Spirit reshapes desires and character We go from controlling behavior to cultivating dependence.  The Holy Spirit Empowers for Daily Living Acts 1:8 “8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”” The Spirit empowers believers for: Witness Obedience Boldness Mission The Christian life is not sustained by willpower but by divine power. Without the Spirit: Obedience becomes exhausting Witness becomes intimidating Growth becomes frustrating With the Spirit: Strength is supplied Courage increases Faith becomes active We are not called to try harder, but to depend more deeply. Closing Thoughts: The Holy Spirit: Is a personal divine presence Gives new spiritual life Indwells every believer Produces Christlike character Empowers daily living and mission The Christian life is lived with God through the Spirit's power Questions: Do I relate to the Holy Spirit as a Person or treat Him like a concept? Where am I relying on effort instead of the Spirit's power? What evidence of the Spirit's fruit is growing in my life? Am I aware of God's presence in my daily routines? Where might the Spirit be prompting me that I have been resisting?

This week Joanne meets Danielle Abraham: Oxford-educated, Woodford-raised, and now one of the most driven women rebuilding Israel from the ground up. As founder and CEO of Regrow Israel, Danielle mobilised emergency support for farming communities devastated in the Western Negev and northern Israel in the wake of October 7th, raising over $30 million and supporting more than 110 farms. She is also co-founder of Volcani International Partnerships, an Israeli NGO tackling global food and nutrition insecurity through Israel's world-leading agricultural expertise. In this conversation, Danielle unpacks the systematic, premeditated agricultural terrorism of October 7th, in which 40 irrigation control boxes were targeted and destroyed on a single kibbutz alone. She explains why rebuilding the farms was the only possible foundation for rebuilding the communities, and why agriculture sits at the very heart of Israel's identity. Together they move from the pioneering spirit of Ben Gurion's Israel to today's border farmers, from tikkun olam and Israel's global agricultural leadership to whether the land can be a unifying force for a fractured nation. A conversation brimming with hard-won hope and a powerful case for a part of Israel's story that is still largely untold. Send us Fan MailWe dig into why 375ml bourbon bottles are suddenly everywhere and what that shift means for prices, access, and trying new whiskey without committing to a full bottle. Along the way we swap festival stories, call out standout distillery releases, and make the case for half bottles as the ultimate share-friendly format. • New Orleans Bourbon Festival highlights, logistics and surprise moments • Makers Mark barrel pick timeline and how releases get coordinated • Why 375ml bottles help with rising bourbon costs and buyer hesitation • How allocated and limited releases reach more people in half bottles • Pocketable sharing bottles, travel wins and shelf-space reality • Standout examples from Woodford, Old Forester 117, Jim Beam experimental series and Bardstown Cathedral • Whether 375s feel special when the same whiskey exists in 750ml • The business tradeoffs of more bottles, more corks and higher per-ounce pricing • Comparing festival strategies, booth lines and bottle hunting expectations Let us know what your thought is on 375s. Leave a comment before before, thumbs up, thumbs down, you know Half bottles are making big waves in bourbon, and we have questions. When a distillery drops a 375ml instead of a 750ml, is that a sneaky way to charge more per ounce, or the smartest way to help more people actually taste the good stuff? We talk through the real-world math, the collector mindset, and the simple truth that most of us want variety without turning our home bar into a storage unit.I'm joined by Matt from Cleveland On The Rocks, and we connect the 375ml trend to what we're seeing at distilleries and bourbon festivals. We revisit the New Orleans Bourbon Festival experience, including how the layout, food, and producer access changes the whole weekend, then compare it to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival reality of booth lines and timed bottle drops. (Per BreakingBourbon.com)-In the spring of 2018, Brown-Forman finally answered fans' calls to release a high proof  Woodford Reserve Batch Proof Bourbon. Now, more than 7 years later, the company has decided to release a high proof version of their standard Woodford rye. This release seems unexpected, as the standard Woodford Rye is often overshadowed by its more well-known bourbon counterparts and various limited edition bourbon offerings that the company delivers. This new limited-edition release is presumably intended to be an ongoing series and will most likely see future releases carrying various proof points, much like Batch Proof Bourbon does. Cheers!

LEXINGTON, Ky. (February 13, 2026) – Artificial intelligence is moving fast — and Kentucky lawmakers are working to make sure the state can take advantage of new tools without sacrificing transparency, privacy or public trust. This isn't the familiar 94-proof crowd-pleaser; it's a single-barrel snapshot bottled at natural strength, and those few extra proof points change the entire ride. We walk through what makes this OHLQ release unique, why the second, deeply toasted barrel matters so much, and how individual cask character turns a staple into a hunt-worthy collectible. We start with the story behind the pick and why staying at barrel proof after that second barrel reveals more texture, sweetness, and spice. From there, we dive into Barrel #5, a glass that opens with crème brûlée and butterscotch on the nose, glides into green-leaning banana and caramelized sugar on the palate, and finishes with warm oak tannins and a satisfying Kentucky hug. Along the way, we compare tasting notes across the lineup—macchiato-rich profiles, maple-and-French-toast vibes, chai and nutmeg, even bright herbal-citrus—and explain how each barrel expresses Double Oak differently without losing the brand's signature richness. We also put the bottle through our Barrel Bottle Breakdown scoring, talk value at $99.99 versus the standard Double Oak, and share practical buying advice for anyone scanning shelves in Ohio. If you love dessert-forward bourbon with real structure, this release hits the sweet spot: bolder aromatics, deeper body, and a finish that lingers long after the last sip. And if you're newer to the style, this is a master class in how finishing, proof, and single-barrel selection can elevate flavor. If you enjoyed the pour-by-pour breakdown, follow the show, rate us five stars, and share this episode with a bourbon friend. This week on The Whiskey Trip, Big Chief takes a break from the highways and settles into the cozy charm of The Hemmingway Hideout in Bridge City, Texas. It's the kind of spot where whiskey wisdom is shared over a well-loved bar top—and today, Big Chief is joined by none other than Kevin Hemmingway, a local aficionado with a deep love for finely crafted bourbon. In the first half, they dive into a bottle of the Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond from the iconic Heaven Hill Distillery. With a mash bill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley, this 100-proof wheated bourbon is a nod to tradition and time. On the nose, it opens with a fragrant bouquet of orange zest, wild strawberries, and sweet honeysuckle, inviting and bright with a soft floral touch. The palate delivers a decadent wave of chocolate-covered strawberries, accented by hints of cherry Twizzlers and rounded out with a beautiful cinnamon spice that adds warmth and structure. It all comes together in a long, sticky, mouth-coating finish—the kind of finish that hugs the tongue and reminds you why Bottled-in-Bond is still a badge of honor. This is a buy all day long. In the second half, Big Chief and Kevin Hemmingway explore something more experimental—the Woodford Reserve Distillery Series Tawny Port Finish. This rare release is a blend of Woodford's classic bourbon mash bill (72% corn, 18% rye, 10% malted barley) and their rye mash bill (53% rye, 33% corn, 14% malted barley), all finished in rich tawny port casks and bottled at 90.4 proof. The nose is a wild ride of layered complexity: starting with a distinct kettle corn funk, then evolving into notes of grape zest, clove, nutmeg, licorice, and a bold wave of port-soaked fruit. On the palate, the port influence shines through with dark fruit, toasted oak, and silky tannins, all balanced by a gentle nuttiness that adds earthy depth. The sip closes with a dry, medium-length finish, offering just enough restraint to keep you curious. This one's a try-before-you-buy. The flavor's there—but it would be an easy buy if it came in at a higher proof point. Whether you crave bonded heritage or port-finished innovation, this episode serves up both with flavor and Texas flair. Pour a glass, take a seat, and enjoy the ride on The Whiskey Trip.
