“ There has been a sharp increase in the number of Americans who identify as religiously unaffiliated, from under 10 percent in the 1990s to 20 percent in 2013.[3] The trend is especially pronounced among young people, with about one in three Americans younger than 30 identifying as religiously unaffiliated, a figure that has nearly tripled since the 1990s.[3][4] The secular movement in the United States believes a secular government is essential to religious freedom. It is generally opposed to religious overreach, including the Christian right, and promotes liberal positions on social issues such as gay rights, reproductive rights, and separation of church and state.[5][6]” I'm willing to star in adult films with the entire adult human diversity because I sleep with them off-camera. I was forced to sell cigars, pipes, and cigarettes to the customers. There were times when I rebelled by not selling anything to any customers and I would get raped for it. Other times, the bosses knew that I would physically defend myself and they would leave me be. Because they were women, I would physically defend myself by repeatedly pushing them off of me and running away. There were a handful of times when certain male traffickers and pimps would try to force me to be raped by clients and I would refuse to go along with their demonic demands. We got into physical fights. For the most part, I was raped by the clients. As for the women traffickers and women pimps, I was raped by the clients for the most part. There were a few instances where I would refused to be raped. I would get away from the clients while they chased after me. I was out of their sight, but I wasn't out of their minds. Later, The women traffickers and pimps found me and raped me out of anger over my civil disobedience. Then those same clients were waiting for me once the women returned me to them. They also raped me out of anger over of my civil disobedience. The human smugglers and their clientele loved to economically exploit me and the other victims. I would physically defend the other survivors on rare occasions and the survivors would physically defend me on rare occasions. Some of human traffickers and pimps forced me with a gun to my head to hit some women. I did so while apologizing and those women were never upset with me. Crime is everywhere, not just in “the ‘hood.” In fact, they had those human smugglers prosecuted and they would socialize with me gleefully. When it comes to sex and life in general is that all kinds of healthy medications and all kinds of healthy trained professionals are helpful. The DMV streets feared me and I resented that. I still resent that. I remember being forced to sell drugs in the same apartment complex that my grandfather, my dad's father lived in. I was eerie to be in the building and even more eerie when I would visit my grandfather in that same building. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support
"Americans seem stuck on the idea that morality comes from religion. It is a misconception that flies in the face of available evidence. Studies demonstrate that humans are hardwired for empathy. From a very young age, toddlers will try to help strangers even if it redounds no benefit to themselves. And brain scans show we literally feel each other's pain. As much as any religious text, our morality derives from this remarkable evolutionary feature that binds us together and allows us to care for one another as social beings. Hiding one's true views on religion can be stressful. You may be asked to join in prayers at public, family, and work events — or even asked to lead them. In dozens of Openly Secular videos, people from all walks of life of all ages, races, and ethnicity say what a joy it has been to be open about their secularism. When that “secret” is unleashed it often loses its intimidating power. Being able to speak truthfully of one's understanding of reality and the natural world is a central aspect of self-identity. Physical attacks are rare, though they do happen, but there can be alarming consequences to being openly secular, including the loss of family, friends, employment, and business opportunities." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support

We spoke at the recent American Humanist Association conference in Chicago, where he was receiving the Humanist Arts Award.

Lyz Liddell is the Executive Director of the Reason Rally Coalition. Before that, she worked with the Secular Student Alliance and played a large role in the Openly Secular campaign, which got celebrities like Bill Maher, Arian Foster, and Barney Frank to talk about how they’re not religious and encouraged others to join them. I spoke with Lyz about the newest slate of speakers at the Rally, how she balances the competing agendas of the various atheist groups participating in the event, what she's learned from a decade in the movement.

In this episode, Bo Bennett interviews singer, actor, and gameshow host John Davidson on being openly secular. They discuss Davidson's decades-spanning career, religion, and how he manages to still be so good looking in his seventies. From Wikipedia: Davidson was born to two Baptist ministers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from high school in White Plains, New York before entering Denison University. His boyish good looks, broad smile, and telegenic charm gained him entry to such television venues as sitcoms, game shows, variety shows, and talk shows. He is perhaps best known for hosting 1980–84's "That's Incredible!", a human interest/stunt-themed series created in the tradition of the 1950s television show "You Asked for It".
