The Big Opening (0:35) Hey Rick/Hey Tim; quickly Tim is losing his mind about political ads (1:37) The entire goal here is to talk about politics, only gambling and not offend anyone (2:50) You can't bet on tee ball, how gambling on HS Track was the gateway gambling experience that turned Tim into a degenerate (4:06) The winning team is whomever has the most kids show up and yes the grand slam prop wins in every inning, and other flaws that make it very hard to gamble on tee ball (4:43) Real American Heros: Tee Ball Coaches (6:44) Superman vs Batman analogy for the Arizona Jr. Senator race between Astraunaut Mark Kelly and Ground Breaking Air Force Pilot Martha McSally (9:24) The current odds for Trump v Biden, Biden is fav both in offshore and UK markets, bigger fav in the UK markets (13:00) Using the state by state odds and a 5 cohort model on "Path to 270", Biden gets past 270 meaning the markets has Biden winning electoral college both in aggregate and in form (14:41) The biggest locks based on betting markets are in 5 states in which Trump is -10000 (North Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming, Idaho, Oklahoma) while Biden's biggest locks are Maryland and Mass at -6600 (18:13) Tim is considering laying $2,000 to win $100 on Montana.... (22:04) We don't know how to understand why the lines are moving toward Trump, is that risk mitigation or a growing theory of the line makers that Trump is surging in the polls (24:50) Do you miss hockey? Well we don't have that but we have great Twittter content giving out winning bets non-stop (25:19) Do you love prop bets? Tim loves prop bets.... and so we give out some election bets, "not how we are voting, how we are betting" (27:28) "We are Educating Everyone" (28:21) The worst possible scenario in gambling is getting hooked on a election handicap bet (29:11) Hanging Chad Reference, very hip and relevant (35:47) We are giving out hot selections for "who finishes third" and Tim is defending Kanye West as his longshot pick (38:10) Look at Line Movements and spread of bets, where the money is going and dispersion of bets for value of the pools (39:11) Tim quotes a German Guy after we had to play shot staffed and it cost us the 4 Team Parlay
Encore.org founder Marc Freedman says seniors are an untapped resource and calls on society to stop segregating the elderly from society and renew the bond between young and old. Marc talks about the mentors who influenced his life, what we can learn from the movie The Intern, and the evidence that shows that seniors who take an interest in a young person actually live longer, happier lives. He talks about the elderly neighbors who act as "surrogate grandparents" to his own children, calls out the interests who are trying to pit baby boomers and millennials against each other, and reveals why artificial intelligence may create greater demand for the kind of interactions that only seniors can offer. Plus we talk about the starry eyed dreamer who accidently created an "age apartheid," how Otto Von Bismark decided your retirement age, and why your kid’s next college roommate might be older than you are! Be sure to visit Encore.org for more information and order Marc Freedman's book How to Live Forever: The Enduring Power of Connecting the Generations on Amazon, Audible, or wherever books are sold. In this episode, we talk about the apocryphal sausage duel of Otto Von Bismark, the incredibly violent precursor to soccer known as the Florentine Kick-Game, and about the Flying Santas that brought Christmas to children who live in lighthouses. EPISODIO 12. Gran Bretaña e Francia aparecen a final do s. Cameron Munter was the US Ambassador to Pakistan when US Special forces conducted the midnight raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. He watched the raid live and hours later was dealing with the diplomatic fallout. Munter had a career in both academia and the diplomatic corps, serving in a wide variety of posts. He's now the president of the East West Institute. And this is arguably the first podcast ever in the history of the universe in which both Otto Von Bismark and Lou Reed are each discussed. We kick off with a brief discussion of the ways that Chinese domestic politics influence its foreign policy and what the future holds for US-Chinese relationship in the Trump era. And then of course, as we always do, we pivot to a longer conversation about his life and career with some fun digressions along the way.
