What’s Up With Your Stuff? Conversations on the Consequences of Clutter
One of my favorite parts of this podcasting journey is the opportunity to engage with other professionals who share my passion points. Pam Holland is one of those kindred spirits on this decluttering path. I reached out to her on a whim after finding her on the internet and have been following her since. I was so pleased when she agreed to share her time, her wisdom and grounded approach so generously. It's always a treat to connect with likeminded peers in your niche who value a similar approach, and I look forward to more conversations on the consequences of clutter with Pam in the future. For every new path that opens up, there’s someone with enough courage to walk down it first. In Ep. 61 of our new season of #SeaStory, Commander (ret.) Pam Holland talks about becoming one of the first women to serve on an aircraft carrier in the 1990s.
Sarah Pondevie is presenting at the Australian Sewing Guild's first online Autumn Sewing Celebration on 27 March 2021. This podcast is a replay of Sarah's original podcast she published in August 2020. You'll get the chance to ask Sarah questions at the Autumn Sewing Celebration and have access to all the presentations for 6 months. The Autumn Sewing Celebration is the first online sewing conference style event developed by the Australian Sewing Guild (ASG). In 2020 the ASG worked hard and developed online workshops and sewing challenges to further people's sewing skills - a great sewing community asset. There are 14 presenters from a range of industries and practices to keep ASG members interest both on the day and for 6 months after this event. The big plus is the presenters will be available on the day to take audience questions at the time their video presentations are launched. There is a live Zoom presentation with Pam Holland and at the end of the day there is a live Zoom celebration for all participants and presenters to round off such a huge day for everyone. Don't feel alone while you watch each presentation as you sew your own projects at home. There will be ASG volunteers to give you a virtual hand or advice on the day #askasghelp. Participants will also get a virtual show bag with discounts from industry partners and our presenters. Make sure you can make it to the cocktail hour at the end of the Autumn Sewing Celebration. Participants will receive recipes for ASG named cocktails and mocktails as well as a marsala chai tea recipe. Come celebrate with your online sewing friends on 27 March 2021. We hope to see you there.

You may recall that back in June, I joined Pam Holland (professional organizer of Mindful Decluttering & Organizing) for her live Q&A event on The Inner Art of Decluttering. In preparation for that event, Pam and I decided to exchange sessions so we could directly experience each other’s work. In this episode, you get a behind the scenes look at my session with Pam! I share some background on the linen closet I was addressing, as well as the three most helpful things I received from Pam’s work (there were many, and for time’s sake, I narrowed it down to three). Visit letspurify.energy/82 to see the before and after photos. I also share three big takeaways that I received from having a session with a professional organizer: Commitment: Committing to the session helped me commit to actually doing the work. Acceptance: Being held in non-judgment by Pam helped me accept myself – and my closet! Action: Knowing I was being held accountable helped me take action and fully complete my Purification process. This episode is full of details about the journey: my inner resistance, my aha moments, and my new perspective. I hope it inspires you to get started on your process. And if you find yourself wishing you had some support, I hope it encourages you to reach out and get it! Set up a call with a friend, reach out to Pam, or set up a free consultation with me. Pam Holland, Professional Home Organizer of Mindful Decluttering & Organizing, is back on the podcast! I interviewed Pam way back on episode 19 about her 7 steps for mindful organizing. It’s become one of the most popular episodes of the podcast so far! (Get a free PDF of her 7 steps HERE) In this week’s episode, Pam shares: How she became interested in the human energy system and the chakras What the chakras are (see two clear and powerful definitions below) A brief overview of each of the seven primary chakras and how they relate to home decluttering Join Pam's Mindful Decluttering & Organizing virtual community and receive her FREE PDF download: An Introduction To The Chakra System And Its Decluttering Power. What Are The Chakras? Chakras are organizational centers for the reception, assimilation and transmission of life-force energy. They are the stepping stones between heaven and earth. Anodea Judith When the Chakras are awakened, they help us transform our lives and ignite our inherent enthusiasm by releasing negative emotions, managing our desires, developing creativity, restoring our personal power, and connecting us to self and world. Gaining access to the chakras allows us to become the master of our own happiness. The Spiritual Head of the Himalayan Institute As Pam points out, the chakras are just one way of entering into the work of Purifying or decluttering at a deeper level.
