Send us a textBill Caskey follows up on last week's deep dive by sharing insights from coaching a high-performing salesperson who's hitting the limits of process-driven selling. He reveals why even the best sales process isn't enough—you must show up authentically and have the courage to disqualify prospects who aren't truly committed. Through a compelling coaching story, Caskey explains how being grounded in who you are allows you to spot the 20% that's missing in a conversation and walk away from deals that would compromise your integrity, ultimately increasing your close rate with the right clients.Download your complimentary copy of the 12 Bold Moves audiobook at 12BoldMoves.com/Audiobook

Bill Caskey poses a challenging question: If you disappeared from your prospect's world tomorrow, would they feel the loss? In this introspective solo episode, he explores the "invisible dimension" of sales—the deeper level where prospects evaluate not just your skills and process, but your unique presence and purpose. Caskey shares three powerful practices for connecting with your authentic self: inventorying your unique experiences, clarifying your God-given assignment, and maintaining daily practices of presence. This isn't about technique—it's about becoming someone prospects can't afford to lose.Download your complimentary copy of the 12 Bold Moves audiobook at 12BoldMoves.com/AudiobookAnd if you're serious about implementation, join us for a special 12 Bold Moves Implementation session on October 30th at 12PM EST. Caskey Russell's novel The Door on the Sea (Solaris, 2025) follows Elan, the youngest member of once revered Flicker Clan, on a journey to find a weapon that can defend his people from the shapeshifting Koosh invaders threatening their existence. To reach his goal, Elan must captain a canoe crewed by an unlikely team and force the cooperation of a raven who is the only one who knows the weapon's location. Throughout their journey, the crew must navigate an increasingly hostile political landscape, as the Koosh invasion throws old laws and alliances into disarray. In this interview, Russell describes the process of developing the novel over several years and the ways that he built a world inspired by nineteenth century Tlingit culture. MARK CASKEY OF STEEL NATION - EXPANDS ON HIS LATEST OP-ED IN THE PITTSBURGH POST GAZETTE...  Read here Mark Caskey founded Steel Nation Buildings in 2008. As a resident of Western Pennsylvania, Mark followed the industry that cropped up in the region since the beginning of the Marcellus Shale boom. When he visited one of the first Marcellus compressor stations located near his office, Mark was appalled by the noise levels. Drawing upon his years of experience erecting steel buildings for the coal industry, Mark saw an opportunity to serve the oil and gas industry with specialty-designed steel buildings that are cool, quiet, and safe. Steel Nation Buildings was then conceived. Mark Caskey is instrumental in leading the entire Design-Build process for Steel Nation. From the design of projects, through estimating, contract negotiations, scheduling and safety, Mark oversees the construction management of all energy-related projects. To date, Mark has lead the Steel Nation team in over 1,500 projects for all of the leading mid-stream, gas processing and transmission energy companies. “I've recently come to the realization that…we're always selling. We're selling ourselves. We're selling our products. We're doing it constantly. And the sad thing is, we're doing it all wrong.”   So, how do we do it the RIGHT way?   On this week's episode of The Liquid Lunch Project, Matt and Luigi sit down with Bill Caskey to share his revolutionary approach to selling.    Caskey found that most sales training was focused on teaching salespeople what to say or do to persuade someone to buy. However, he believed this approach was flawed. He realized that the prospect or customer should be the one convincing the salesperson that they have a problem that needs to be solved. This realization led him to develop a framework that flipped the script, changing the dynamic of the buyer-seller process.   He calls this approach a "180 flip," in which the salesperson shifts their focus from convincing the prospect to buy to understanding the prospect's problems and needs. Caskey believes that changing this dynamic makes prospects more engaged, honest, and open about their issues. This approach creates a more organic and joyful way to sell, which benefits everyone.   If you're stuck in a sales rut or looking for ways to get better at what you do (let's face it, most of us can!), don't miss this episode.  Key Takeaways:   The importance of crafting customer-focused, unique messages Choosing the right platforms to deliver your message Why persuasion alone is not enough to build trust and establish lasting relationships with customers How to foster honest communication The pros…and cons...of incorporating AI into your sales approach Favorite Quote:   “I believe the greatest salespeople are exquisite communicators rather than exquisite persuaders.” Connect with Bill: Website: https://billcaskey.com/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/billcaskeyfan/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bill.caskey/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/billcaskey/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BillCaskeyTraining Million Dollar Checklist: https://resources.billcaskey.com/mds-checklist    Stay Connected: Connect with Matt and Luigi on Instagram: @matthew.r.meehan @luigi_rosabianca @theLiquidLunchProject @ShieldAdvisoryGroup Visit The Liquid Lunch Project website and subscribe to The Weekly, our Friday morning newsletter, for all the latest in the world of finance, tech, small business, and more. www.theliquidlunchproject.com Make sure you never miss an episode — check out The Liquid Lunch Project on Apple Podcasts, and don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review.
