    Ivy Insights

The Hidden Streams podcast is an outstanding source for quieting the soul through the text of scripture. With a mix of music, scripture readings, and insightful commentary by Chad, this podcast takes the listener on a journey of worship and stillness. Life can be busy and overwhelming, but this podcast provides a much-needed pause in our lives. After listening to an episode, I always feel deeply moved and relaxed, with my inner spirit drawn to worship and be still.

One of the best aspects of The Hidden Streams podcast is the blend of music, scripture readings, and Chad's unpacking of the word. The combination creates a comforting and confirming atmosphere that strengthens faith. The Hebrew insight provided by Chad adds a perspective that I wouldn't be able to see on my own. It expands my understanding and deepens my connection to the scriptures.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its devotional contemplation model. The reading, commentary, and paraphrasing for English song are all top-notch. Each episode feels like a model for diving into scripture with devotion and contemplation. The content is both beautiful and insightful, providing an oasis in the desert of American Christianity.

However, one minor drawback is that sometimes the background music can be a bit too loud, making it difficult to hear the speaker clearly. It would be helpful if the music was softened so that listeners can fully grasp the message being conveyed. Additionally, while Chad's commentary is excellent, it would be nice to have a variety of voices contributing to the podcast. Perhaps having different people read the introductions for each Psalm would add some diversity.

In conclusion, The Hidden Streams podcast is an exceptional resource for anyone looking to find solace and inspiration in Scripture. It has revitalized and strengthened many individuals' faiths by reintroducing them to theological topics in fresh ways. The wide range of covered subjects ensures that there is something for everyone regardless of their background or knowledge base in theology. If you haven't already, I highly recommend listening to this podcast and exploring the other offerings from the 1517 network.

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;     let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;     incline your ear to me, and save me! Be to me a rock of refuge,     to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me,     for you are my rock and my fortress. Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,     from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man. For you, O Lord, are my hope,     my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from before my birth;     you are he who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you. I have been as a portent to many,     but you are my strong refuge. My mouth is filled with your praise,     and with your glory all the day. Do not cast me off in the time of old age;     forsake me not when my strength is spent. For my enemies speak concerning me;     those who watch for my life consult together and say, “God has forsaken him;     pursue and seize him,     for there is none to deliver him.” O God, be not far from me;     O my God, make haste to help me! May my accusers be put to shame and consumed;     with scorn and disgrace may they be covered     who seek my hurt. But I will hope continually     and will praise you yet more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous acts,     of your deeds of salvation all the day,     for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come;     I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. O God, from my youth you have taught me,     and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs,     O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation,     your power to all those to come. Your righteousness, O God,     reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things,     O God, who is like you? You who have made me see many troubles and calamities     will revive me again; from the depths of the earth     you will bring me up again. You will increase my greatness     and comfort me again. I will also praise you with the harp     for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre,     O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy,     when I sing praises to you;     my soul also, which you have redeemed. And my tongue will talk of your righteous help all the day long, for they have been put to shame and disappointed     who sought to do me hurt. Do you see the Lord Jesus Christ in this Psalm? Plain as day. Readers of "the Christ Key" by Chad Bird can spot this writing all over the Old Testament. We give thanks this holy weekend, that we have a Deliverer, and Advocate and King in Jesus Christ. To Him be glory forever and ever. Put me like a seal over your heart For you know this love is true
Put me like a seal on your arm
I've got jealous love for you Now I will arise and go about the city Through the streets and in the square I will search for the one my soul loves So I looked for him but did not find him there I was born for you I lived for you I died for you, and rose again for you I will return for you, my love  Put me like a seal over your heart
You are like a lily among the thorns Put me like a seal on your arm How beautiful you are in all your charms
O my dove in the clefts of the rock In the secret place of the steep pathway
Show me your face let me hear your voice For your voice is sweet and your face lovely I came down for you I died for you I rose again, and intercede for you I will return for you, my love
Put me like a seal over your heart
Who is this that grows like the dawn
Put me like a seal on your arm
Beauty of the moon pure as the sun
Put me like a seal over your heart For you know this love is true Put me like a seal on your arm
I've got jealous love for you
