Send us a textNoeline Hofmann burst onto the scene in 2024 with the duet release of her single “Purple Gas”, after it caught the attention of Zach Bryan. At just 21 years old, Noeline knows the vitality of building community as a young artist. After playing her local Alberta circuit for a few years, managing jobs at the grocery store and on a ranch, and attending school, Noeline set her sights on a career in music. In just one year, Noeline has toured with Charlie Crockett, Wyatt Flores, Zach Bryan, Turnpike Troubadours and more. She made her Stagecoach debut this year, and just had a full circle moment at Railbird Festival (find out why in the episode). We talked to Noeline about the whirlwind she's been on over the last two years, from packing up her car and heading for Kentucky and Tennessee, to a duet with Zach Bryan, her current busy schedule on the road, and more. She also taught us how she manages to keep her schedule straight; a few weeks at a time.Noeline is also Sirius XM Top of the Country finalist and we can't wait to catch her at the finale in Kelowna this September.Follow Noeline Hofmann on Instagram and TikTok.We're so excited to bring back Season 4 of On The Porch with Front Porch Music. Believe it or not, Rhiannon Giddens isn't the only black banjo player turning heads in Americana Music. Kaia Kater's first album in six years is out and the likes of Rolling Stone, No Depression and more are giving it glowing marks. She's not just turning out a unique sound and a very different take on how the banjo plays into new music, but Kater is also chiming in on representation of people of color in bluegrass, country and Americana music. This week on Roots Music Rambler, hosts Francesca Folinazzo (Frank) and Jason Falls (Falls) dig in with her to talk about that, her background growing up in Canada, the culture shock of going to college in West Virginia and collaborating with the likes of Allison Russell, Aoiefe O'Donovan and Taj Mahal on her new record and a lot more. Falls also shares his experience at Railbird Festival in Lexington, Ky., in June, which included a new worship-like status of Marcus King. They also discuss the list of top 12 all-time grossing live music acts and the lack of intimacy in stadium shows. Plus, as always, Frank and Falls share their Pickin' the Grinnin' recommendations for music you should check out. Are you ready for a budget bourbon showdown!? This week the fellas discuss the Railbird Festival and all the sights and sounds of two very different, but equally exciting days. The concept for the budget bourbon showdown was very simple. Each of us went out and purchased a sub $10 bottle and brought it to the table for judgement. You'll have to listen to see if there was a clear winner or if we regulated all of these bottles to the “mixer” category. To close it out, we also discuss home double barrel bourbon experiments other local bourbon banter. -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky TW: https://twitter.com/themashupky Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!
