As the leader of The Ben Vaughn Combo and through his solo albums—including the cult classic Rambler '65, recorded entirely in his car—he has built a devoted following in his native Philadelphia, his adopted home of L.A. and beyond. FireFly Metals Ltd managing director Steve Parsons talked with Proactive about the company's progress at the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project during the June 2026 quarter, including high-grade drilling results, resource development and preparations for an upcoming economic study. Parsons said drilling at the project continued to deliver some of the strongest copper and gold intersections recorded on the property. He explained that FireFly Metals is undertaking infill drilling to convert more of the approximately 80-million-tonne mineral resource into the measured and indicated categories. Discussing the project's high-grade Core Zone, Parsons said it contained nearly 20 million tonnes at close to 4% copper equivalent. He described Green Bay as primarily a copper orebody with an additional gold credit, noting that copper represented most of the contained metal value. The updated resource is expected to support a preliminary economic assessment and scoping study for an upscaled restart of production at Green Bay. FireFly Metals is targeting completion of the study in August 2026, with the high-grade Core Zone expected to play an important role during the early years of the proposed mine plan. Parsons also highlighted the company's strong funding position, with approximately A$196.4 million in cash and liquid investments at the end of the quarter. Six underground drill rigs were operating at Green Bay, while drilling and targeting activities were also progressing around nearby deposits and regional exploration areas, including Rambler, East Mine and Tilt Cove. Welcome to another in our Backstage episode of Roots Music Rambler. These are short interviews Frank and Falls are able to grab backstage (or just somewhere in person rather than on our virtual, longer-form interview episodes) and catch up briefly. This week, we share a recent chat Falls had with West Virginia-based singer-songwriter William Matheny. He hails from the Morgantown area of West Virginia where Falls spent time in graduate school. So, the two mucked it up a bit with some casual Morgantown banter, but not before we asked Matheny about his new record.  Material Witness is the name of the LP and it marks a step up in the recording and engineering approach for Matheny and his band. It was recorded at Ronnie's Place in Nashville with the musicians coming from Matheny's personal list of favorites. A couple of tracks even feature a fun change of roles as John R. Miller sat in on bass guitar. Matheny is Miller's regular bass player when Miller is playing live, so turnabout is a fun little tidbit about the record. Matheny says the album is more focused on mortality and the passing of time than his previous works, but his songwriting is so beautiful and the music brings the right amount of life to the stories. Falls first saw Shelby live filling in on lead guitar for fellow Kentuckian Jordan Lee King a while back and made my way to find him after the show, he was so impressed. Jon Westfall and I were joined by frequent guest panelists Frank McPherson, and Sven Johannsen to discuss  the announcements from the recent "Gemini I/O" and Android shows. I kicked off the episode with a real-world tech success story: the Google app on my Pixel devices provided a magnitude and epicenter alert for a 6.0 earthquake in Hawaii that occurred 200 miles away. I felt a relatively mild rumble but thought it was a feral pig bumping the side of my home. Much of our hardware discussion focused on the Google Book, a premium AI-first device running the "Aluminium" (Android-based) OS. We speculated that Google is positioning this to compete with the high-demand MacBook Neo, which is currently so popular that rumors suggest Apple may release a spec-bumped "Neo 2" to address chip shortages and stay ahead of the competition. On the software and AI front, we looked ahead to Android 17 and its new "Rambler" feature for Gboard, which uses AI to filter out "ums" and "ahs" from voice transcriptions. I shared my experience with Gemini Pro's voice cloning, which was "scary good" at mimicking my voice with minimal training, while Frank voiced skepticism about Wear OS 7 replacing tiles with widgets, fearing it's a step backward for round-screen usability. The episode also served as a warning about the dangers of auto-updates; Jon shared how a Ubiquiti router update broke his HomeKit setup—requiring an SSH command to fix—and I recounted a corrupt OneDrive for Mac update that forced me to roll back to its previous version using Time Machine. We wrapped up with a demonstration from Sven, who demonstrated his new Pixel Fold 10's unique feature in Google Meet that allows for a split-view using the front and back cameras simultaneously. This "double-vision" mode allows a caller to show their face while also providing a high-resolution view of their surroundings, which we agreed would be a game-changer for remote tech support or traveling. d there is still plenty of innovation happening in the Android ecosystem.

Every team has them. The teammate who turns a one-word answer into a five-minute monologue. The developer who has not said a word in three retrospectives. The Product Owner who "adds context" to every user story before anyone gets a chance to read it. This episode is a high-energy, no-nonsense look at the over-talkers and under-talkers who quietly shape every meeting, and at the facilitation moves that turn a room of crickets and ramblers into a room of contributors. I started off the podcast by noting that I'm testing yet another budget-friendly microphone, the Boya CastMic G30, which features a gaming-style "glow" that led us into a deep dive on the recently announced Googlebook and its Battlestar Galactica Cylon-like Glowbar. Announced at a pre-Google I/O Android Show, the Googlebook is an AI-first, Android-based premium device positioned above the Chromebook. While its Cylon-esque "glow bar" is a fun aesthetic touch, I'm skeptical about its potential price point; if it creeps above $599, it might make more sense to buy a MacBook Neo, especially given Android's historical struggle with landscape-oriented tablet apps. We also touched on the future of Android Auto, which is introducing "immersive navigation" with Lane Advisory guidance to help drivers with select supported cars with front cameras navigate multi-lane roads in real-time. The second half of our conversation turned toward the cognitive impact of AI. We debated a recent study claiming that using AI for even ten minutes can impair brain performance, particularly in solving math problems. Jon Westfall, drawing on his background as a cognitive scientist, was skeptical of the study's protocol, while I noted the striking similarity to the "brain mush" warnings I heard about calculators fifty years ago. We wrapped up by discussing how to "smooth over" the friction in our personal hobbies. For Jon, this means a "buy once, cry once" philosophy with high-quality tools like professional knitting needles. For me, retirement has brought a surprising fascination with the mechanics of pencil sharpeners, where I've discovered that investing in a high-quality long-point sharpener is often the key to enjoying the simple act of doodling on paper. Whether it's using AI to remove "ums" and "ahs" from speech via Gboard's new Rambler feature or whittling a pencil to perfection, we agreed that the right tool fundamentally changes the experience

Written by Richard Bartholomew and featuring a foreword by Edgar Tatro of THE MEN WHO KILLED KENNEDY, this book examines many of underlying connections in Texas to the assassination on 11/22/1963. Not a simple Lyndon Johnson-did-it book, this is rather a potent analysis of the forces that continue to enable the kind of power politics existent even to the present day. Richard Bartholomew, a political cartoonist by trade, is a co-founder and director of the Center for Deep Political Research. CDPR boasts many of the best researchers and historians in the field on its Board of Advisors, including Peter Dale Scott, Colleen Rowley, Cynthia McKinney, and William Davy. Bartholomew's talent, education, training, and professional experience have been primarily in the visual arts, resulting in his career as an award-winning graphic designer, illustrator and editorial cartoonist. His research of the JFK assassination includes his discovery of a 1959 Rambler station wagon possibly used in the conspiracy; a study co-authored with Walter F. Interview with Ben Vaughn ! Ben Vaughn is a south New Jersey–born musician, songwriter, composer, producer, and radio host basd in Los Angeles. He hosts the weekly syndicated radio show The Many Moods of Ben Vaughn and performs regularly in the U.S. and Europe. Vaughn is known for producing artists such as Ween, Arthur Alexander, and Charlie Feathers, and for collaborations with Alan Vega and Alex Chilton. As the leader of The Ben Vaughn Combo and through his solo albums—including the cult classic Rambler '65, recorded entirely in his car—he has built a devoted following in his native Philadelphia and beyond. When Roots Music Rambler did our 2025 year-in-review episode, Frank told us her favorite music festival last year was the Crossroads Acoustic Fest in Seymour, Ind. She's going again this year (and has convinced Falls to come as well). It takes place April 24-25 and features wonderful singer-songwriters and Americana acts  like John R. Our first such episode is with Josh Mitcham. The Breckenridge County, Kentucky native and farmer has a new solo album coming out in June called Gonna Be Alright. He's dropped a couple of singles from the album already and the sound is a level up from previous work as he brought the Alabama Sound Company to the table to produce the album. Josh is the former frontman for Jericho Woods and a 2026 Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Ambassador.  Falls caught him backstage at the Mercury Ballroom in early February, getting ready to open for Sundy Best. Her car was found parked in a rest area on the road leading up to the Santiam Pass just north of Albany, Oregon, and slightly east of the I-5. The red-and-white Rambler had no external damage, and it was locked. No blood. No sign of struggle. There were a few personal items belonging to Jan Whitney. There were no keys. In processing the Rambler, state police I.D. technicians lifted a good latent print from one of its hubcaps. A menudo pensamos que la pasión por el automóvil deportivo es patrimonio exclusivo de Europa, Japón o Estados Unidos. Pero al otro lado del Atlántico, aislados por fronteras cerradas y leyes proteccionistas, ingenieros locos y soñadores crearon máquinas fascinantes. Para entender estos coches, hay que entender el contexto: entre los años 60 y 80, tanto Brasil como Argentina vivieron la era de la "sustitución de importaciones". No podías comprar un Ferrari o un Porsche. Si querías un deportivo, tenías que fabricarlo con lo que había: motores de utilitarios, chasis generalistas y mucha fibra de vidrio. Lejos de ser un impedimento, esto desató una creatividad asombrosa. En este vídeo rendimos homenaje a 10 de estos "héroes" del motor sudamericano: 1. Andino GT (Argentina): Una auténtica rareza artesanal creada por Luis Varela. Un deportivo de motor central-trasero (Renault) ultraligero que demostró el triunfo del "hazlo tú mismo". 2. Bianco S (Brasil): Un coche que, si lo ves hoy, parece un prototipo de Le Mans de los 70. Diseñado por Toni Bianco sobre la plataforma del VW Brasilia, priorizaba el espectáculo visual y la posición de conducción de monoplaza sobre la potencia bruta. 3. Hofstetter Turbo (Brasil): El superdeportivo brasileño de los 80. Una cuña radical inspirada en el Countach, con puertas de ala de gaviota y un motor VW AP con turbo que rozaba los 200 km/h. 4. IKA Torino (Argentina): Palabras mayores. El orgullo nacional argentino. Un coche basado en un Rambler americano, rediseñado por Pininfarina y con un motor Tornado afinado por Oreste Berta. Su hazaña en las 84 Horas de Nürburgring de 1969 es historia del automovilismo mundial. 5. Justicialista Gran Sport (Argentina): Historia política sobre ruedas. Iniciativa del gobierno de Perón, fue uno de los primeros coches del mundo en usar carrocería de fibra de vidrio y montaba un motor Porsche. 6. Miura Sport (Brasil): La definición de "lujo tecnológico". Un coche con faros escamoteables y diseño afilado que se hizo famoso en los 80 por tener un sintetizador de voz que te hablaba para avisarte de fallos o puertas abiertas. 7. Puma GT (Brasil): El rey indiscutible de Brasil y un éxito de exportación. Nacido de la mano de Rino Malzoni, usaba mecánica Volkswagen refrigerada por aire. Bonito, fiable y ligero, se convirtió en un objeto de deseo internacional. 8. Santa Matilde (Brasil): El Gran Turismo de lujo. Fabricado por una empresa de trenes, usaba el potente motor de 6 cilindros del Chevrolet Opala. Era caro, refinado y confortable, con un aislamiento acústico superior. 9. Volkswagen SP2 (Brasil): Diseñado y producido exclusivamente por VW do Brasil. Uno de los coches más bellos de la marca, con una línea "shooting brake" magistral, aunque su motor de 1700cc le valió el apodo de "Sem Potência". 10.
