Are we at a watershed moment in UK PLC's attitude towards pensions? Will pension schemes start to be seen as an asset, instead of a liability to be managed? In this Quick Take episode, we're joined by LCP Partners Steve Hodder and David Fairs to discuss a first-of-its-kind transaction, where Aberdeen Group has taken over as sponsoring employer of the £1.2bn Stagecoach Group Pension Scheme (a DB pension scheme). In particular, we discuss what happened, motives of the different stakeholders (Aberdeen, Stagecoach, and perhaps most importantly, members) and what this might mean more broadly for both regulation and UK PLC behaviour.
12-15-2025. "HO! HO! HOLLYWOOD: SANTA CLAUSE IN CLASSIC CINEMA" (118) Long before special effects, CGI snowstorms, and big-budget holiday franchises, it fell to a small but memorable group of performers to embody the warmth, wonder, and whimsy of old St. Nick. Ever wonder about the actors who were called upon to portray Santa Claus in film and TV? These classic Santas weren't just men in red suits — they were character actors, vaudevillians, radio veterans, and Hollywood workhorses who brought their own unique spark to the role, shaping how generations of moviegoers came to imagine Father Christmas. From the twinkle-eyed charmers to the unexpectedly gruff curmudgeons, from the iconic to the nearly forgotten, we're unwrapping the stories behind the earliest portrayals that turned Santa into a cinematic tradition. So settle in with a mug of something warm, hang your stocking, and join us as we explore the jolly, joyful, and sometimes surprisingly complex history of Hollywood's first Santas. What hidden design choices make a 125,000-person festival feel effortless—and what happens when being off by just one foot throws everything into chaos? Why do some festivals become cultural icons while others collapse spectacularly? And how did one architect watching the Fyre Festival documentary suddenly realize, “I could do this a million times better”—and then actually go do it?In this episode, Reiko Wei, design production manager at Goldenvoice (the team behind Coachella & Stagecoach), pulls back the curtain on the invisible systems, political negotiations, spatial puzzles, and human-centered decisions that shape the world's most iconic music festivals. She reveals how a show built on 1200 acres needs precision down to a single foot, why the fire marshal has the ultimate power, how Gen Z is reshaping festival culture, and why physical spaces for real connection matter more than ever in a post-COVID world. If you've ever wondered how a “giant party” becomes a safe, seamless, deeply human experience—or why these events still matter—this conversation will change how you see every festival you attend.https://goldenvoice.com/https://www.coachella.com/https://www.stagecoachfestival.com/Chapters00:00 Understanding Coachella: The Festival Experience03:19 The Role of Logistics in Event Planning06:41 Reiko's Transition from Architecture to Event Planning10:10 Collaboration with Authorities and Stakeholders13:35 The Evolution of Coachella: Adapting to Change17:00 Designing for Experience: The Importance of Flow21:15 The Art of Curation in Festivals25:02 Shifting Audience Dynamics Post-COVID27:11 The Importance of In-Person Connections30:43 Navigating Loneliness and Community31:51 Reflections on the Current Era

Post Malone BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Post Malone has had quite the week, capping off what's been a transformative year for the artist. Most notably, on Thanksgiving Day, he headlined The Salvation Army's Annual Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cowboys secured a 31-28 victory, and for Malone, it was a full-circle moment—his father previously worked for the organization managing concessions when Post was a kid. During the performance, he ran through a mix of his hits including "Wrong Ones," "Wow," and "I Had Some Help," blending his rap and country material. The halftime show sparked considerable social media buzz, with fan reactions decidedly mixed. While some critics felt his vocal delivery was off, others praised the performance and its production value. What really captured attention, however, was an overwhelming wave of fan sentiment calling for Malone to headline the Super Bowl halftime show. Social media erupted with comments like "Make this man the Super Bowl 61 halftime show" and "He deserves the SB halftime." Multiple fans expressed frustration that Bad Bunny, who's been announced for this year's Super Bowl, got the slot before Malone. Not everyone embraced his recent pivot to country music, though. Some NFL fans took to Twitter expressing harsh criticism, with one user calling his country shift "god awful" and "truly some of the worst music ever made." The debate reflects the ongoing conversation about Malone's genre transition over the past few years from hip-hop to country territory.Beyond the halftime performance, Malone continues riding momentum from his critically acclaimed F-1 Trillion album and collaboration with Taylor Swift on "I Had Some Help," which dominated charts as the highest weekly sales and streams since 2020, holding the number-one Billboard Hot 100 position for six consecutive weeks. He recently earned eight Grammy nominations for 2025. Spring saw him headlining Coachella, followed by his "Big Ass Stadium" tour, and he's already lined up to headline Stagecoach in 2026.Malone also continues expanding his business empire. Posty's, his Nashville bar and restaurant venture that opened to the public in July, became the largest country artist-owned Music City establishment when it took over the old Tequila Cowboy location on Broadway. The venue threw a massive ribbon-cutting ceremony in October that shut down several downtown blocks.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Just four days earlier on November 7, the studio version finally hit all platforms after six years of relentless fan demand.Analytic Dreamz traces the song's journey: originally written by Bruce Robison in 1996, made iconic by The Chicks in 2002–2003 (platinum #1 hit until the 2003 radio ban), and reborn through Cody Johnson's 2020 lockdown livestream that exploded online. The 2022 acoustic YouTube upload has now surpassed 58 million views and 247K likes, with fans holding “Play Travelin' Soldier” signs at every show worldwide. From October 30, 2025, Johnson fueled the fire by reposting dozens of fan TikToks begging for the studio cut, sending speculation viral. In this episode I spoke with author Chris Yogerst about his latest book "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance". Few lines of movie dialogue have had greater impact than the most famous line from John Ford's 1962 masterpiece The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance: “This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” Although critics of the day did not realize its magnitude, with time The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance has become cemented in our popular culture. This film connects to nearly every Western before or after, from Ford's own Stagecoach (1939) to Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven (1992).

Post Malone BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Post Malone has dominated recent headlines with a flurry of activity across fashion, music, and legal circles. According to Holler and multiple country and pop culture outlets, Post Malone dropped the official release date of his much-anticipated clothing label, Austin Post Apparel, announcing that The Permanent Collection would finally be available online starting Thursday, October 23. This line features denim, fleece, outerwear, and accessories, all crafted for durability and a modern Western look reflecting Post's country influences. Though there's still speculation about whether pieces from his Paris runway show or the recent New York pop-up will be included, Post teased the drop with behind-the-scenes video clips that have fans buzzing. At the same time, Post is embroiled in a headline-grabbing lawsuit filed by Larry Deuel, a limo driver who claims he was never paid nor formally released for his prominent cameo in Post's 2020 Tommy Lee video with Tyla Yaweh. According to sources like The Daily Mail, AllHipHop, and TMZ, Deuel has been trying to resolve the payment dispute for years and is now asking the courts for $10 million, citing breach of contract, misappropriation of likeness, and fraudulent inducement. No formal response from Post's camp yet, though the story is picking up steam in legal and entertainment circles.Malone's business empire isn't being slowed by legal drama. He recently celebrated the grand opening of his Nashville bar, Posty's, with a blowout event featuring surprise performances from Lainey Wilson and Brooks & Dunn, drawing over 30000 fans, as reported by AllHipHop. Not stopping there, he's also been confirmed as a 2026 Stagecoach headliner, further cementing his crossover from hip hop to country dominance. On social media, Post's clothing announcement made waves, but he also found himself trending due to an unrelated viral story out of California, where local police humorously dubbed a package theft suspect Postal Malone for his resemblance to the rapper. The Irvine Police's pun-filled Instagram post contributed to Malone's name trending, though the man in question is not connected to the artist. For fashion archivists, the Country Music Hall of Fame is now displaying the vintage jacket Post wore in his 2024 video with Dwight Yoakam, reinforcing his deepening country credentials. Financial news writers also continue to marvel at his growing net worth and diversified investments, while hits from his latest cross-genre collaborations dot the top of current music charts and playlists. No major personal controversies, tour cancellations, or health rumors are circulating at this time—Post's momentum, despite legal headaches, is showing no sign of slowing down.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez had a mini "Office" reunion on last night's season finale of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and went ALL THE WAY! (You'd know them as Meredith and Oscar on the show.) They even called up Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) for their "Phone-a-Friend" lifeline. As for the million-dollar question? "The word 'planet' comes from an ancient Greek word that literally means what?" Their options were "powerful," "immortal," "stranger," and "wanderer" . . . the answer being "wanderer". Kate and Oscar will be splitting their winnings between Planned Parenthood and a Philadelphia-based food bank called Philabundance. Fresh off Coachella comes Stagecoach! Katie Couric pokes fun at Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad in a new PSA for colon cancer screenings. The clip opens to a close-up of Katie wearing a jean jacket, and quickly pans out to show she's wearing a hospital gown underneath, and she's on a gurney getting ready for a colonoscopy. She tells the camera, quote, "Speaking of genes. Did you know that the majority of people who develop colon cancer are not genetically predisposed to the disease? That's why doctors recommend everyone 45 and older get checked." Katie told "People" magazine, quote, "That ad showed how pop culture and a pair of jeans could really shape the cultural conversation, it was everywhere. It was a moment in time, and we thought, 'Why don't we ride that horse a little bit longer and have some fun with it?'" It'sbeen 25 years since Katie became the first person in history to broadcast a colonoscopy on national TV. She lost her husband to colon cancer in 1998. He was only 42. One of the most famous homes in American history is opening its doors to the public for the first time ever. The "Brady Bunch" house in North Hollywood will be accessible to fans on November 7th, 8th, and 9th. And while bookings are sold out, you can register to be on a waitlist, or be notified if additional dates become available. When the show was in production back in the day, the house was only used for EXTERIOR shots. The inside of the Brady home was created on a soundstage, and the inside of the actual house looked nothing like it. But HGTV bought the house in 2018, and renovated it so that it DOES match the house from the show. And of course, they recorded it for a series called "A Very Brady Renovation". Alyssa Milano, now 52, announced on Instagram that she underwent surgery to remove her breast implants—calling it a step toward reclaiming her body. She wrote that she's letting go of “false narratives” and a body she felt was “sexualized” and “abused.” Page Six+2People.com+2Milano said she once believed implants were essential to being attractive, loved, or successful—but now emphasizes that her worth doesn't depend on them. People.com+2The Cut+2 She also expressed hope that her 11-year-old daughter will be spared similar pressure. Page Six+1She made clear this was her personal decision and not a judgment on others who choose differently. People.com+2The Cut+2 After the procedure, she posted she's resting comfortably and thanked fans for their support. Sacha Baron Cohen, 53, has been spotted on a dinner date with 27-year-old OnlyFans creator Hannah Palmer, just months after finalizing his $75 million divorce from Isla Fisher. Page SixThe pair were seen leaving the restaurant separately before getting into the same Cadillac Escalade. Page Six+1Sources say they first met at Taika Waititi's 50th birthday party in Ibiza, with Rita Ora reportedly introducing them. Although the age gap raised eyebrows, insiders say they “seemed to be getting on really well.” Page Six+1Cohen and Fisher married in 2010, share three children, and announced their split in 2024 before finalizing the divorce this past June. Action legend Chuck Norris, now 85, marked his birthday by hiking Lassen Peak in Northern California—a strenuous trail rising to 10,457 feet. The round-trip journey spans about 5 miles and climbs 2,000 feet, often taking 4 to 5 hours to complete. Outside OnlineOn Instagram, Norris reflected on the trail's long recovery since the 2021 Dixie Fire, saying while the damage is heartbreaking, “the park's beauty still shines through.” Outside Online+2Active NorCal+2 He also credited his wife for introducing him to the region's natural splendor. It's official: HBO Max wants to traumatize your children. What other reason could there be for them to produce a brand new, animated version of "Charlotte's Web", one of the greatest children's stories ever told . . . until it becomes the most heart-wrenchingly brutal story in the history of mankind? This one is a limited series, told in three parts, which will all be released on Thursday, October 2nd. It stars Amy Adams as Charlotte, Elijah Wood as Wilbur the pig, and Jean Smart as the narrator. The voice cast also includes Cynthia Erivo, Randall Park, and Rosario Dawson. HBO Max released a clip yesterday of a scene between Charlotte and the young version of Wilbur, voiced by Griffin Robert Faulkner. Comedy legend Bill Burr is in talks to join production of The Social Network Part II, a follow-up to the 2010 Mark Zuckerberg biopic. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Before it became a sprawling 12,000-square-foot estate, the Cheney Mansion in Jerseyville, Illinois, began as the humble Red House in 1827. Built as the area's first frame house, it stood with just two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs. Yet even in its early days, the property became more than just a family home. It served as a stagecoach stop for weary travelers, a lively tavern, a doctor's office, and even a bank. Most remarkably, its cistern is believed to have hidden enslaved people seeking freedom along the Underground Railroad—adding a powerful layer of human history to its walls. Over the decades, the Red House grew into the Cheney Mansion, a place of grandeur and prominence in Jerseyville. Thanks to the tireless efforts of local volunteers, it remains in remarkable condition today. But some believe that its well-preserved beauty is only part of the story. Many say the spirits of former residents and visitors never left. Among them is P.D. Cheney himself, whose presence is often felt within the mansion's historic halls. Reports of unexplained sounds, mysterious figures, and an undeniable energy have convinced many that the mansion is still very much alive with ghostly activity. From stagecoach guests who never checked out to long-past owners still keeping watch, the Cheney Mansion is a site where history and the paranormal intertwine. This is Part Two of our conversation. Today on The Grave Talks, we sit down with Roger Scheffel to explore the incredible history and chilling hauntings of this Illinois landmark. #HauntedHouse #HauntedIllinois #TheGraveTalks #GhostStories #HauntedHistory #HauntedMansion #UndergroundRailroad #HistoricHauntings #HauntedPlaces #UnexplainedPhenomena Love real ghost stories? Lanie Gardner doesn’t just write songs—she writes pages of her life and turns them into music. After her viral cover of “Dreams” (63M+ and counting), she’s gone from small-town Carolina to the Grand Ole Opry stage, proving that authenticity still wins in a world full of noise. Her upcoming album Faded Polaroids (Sept 5th) is more than just a follow-up to her debut EP—it’s a songwriter’s diary you’re invited to read. It’s messy, it’s vulnerable, it’s real life caught on tape. Along the way, she’s collaborated with Thomas Rhett (What Could Go Right), Warren Zeiders (Loving in Letting Go), and even had Mick Fleetwood play drums on High Divin’. She’s made her Stagecoach debut, joined tours with Corey Kent and Gavin Adcock, and her songs have landed in Twisters and Queen of the Ring. At just 25, she’s already living out prayers she used to whisper—singing Cry (a song she wrote at 16) on tour with Jelly Roll, making her Opry debut, and becoming one of country music’s most talked-about new voices.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The reaction from the same media that promoted Trump/Russia collusion for years is now suddenly saying there's nothing to see there and we shouldn't even be talking about it. Incredible... but predictable. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley is escorted off stage after terrorist supporting pro-Palestine protesters interrupt his speech. If these people aren't citizens, they should be sent to Alligator Alcatraz immediately. Ravens coach John Harbaugh flat out shrinks a reporter giving him a hard time for visiting Trump at the White House. The Royals take two of three from the Cubs as Salvy makes more history. Now a huge series with Cleveland looms. NFL financials are revealed by the Green Bay Packers and let's just say business is good. And NASCAR makes a huge announcement about joining forces with the Navy.
