Rory Dunn (comedian) returns to the show and gets banned from the celebrity gossip subreddit Fauxmoi for making a joke about something happening to America's two likely Presidential candidates. One thing Rory doesn't get banned from is his love of drinking milk, which we find out he's doing a lot of because he is entering a strongman competition. Of course, that sends us down a wild rabbit hole where we spend a ton of time discussing World's Strongest Man and Rory's prep for the competition. Plus, Rory is unhappy with a podcast trying to locate a cool-looking skateboarder from a photo, "Inside the NBA" might be ending, and some guys honk a car horn at golfers mid-swing, and that's never not funny. You know what else is always funny? Our bonus content! It's only available at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Randee Neumeyer joined us for a Cullen the Herd episode, where John gets blocked by a stupid Leafs fan. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, an exclusive Discord, and MORE! So check it out! Rory Dunn is a comedian whose new show, "Your Music Video Sucks" is at Little Mountain Gallery in Vancouver on June 29th. You can find out about that and all his other shows on Instagram at @thetruerory. This episode is also available in video format on our YouTube. Learn more about your ad choices. Darcy Michael (comedian) returns to the show with a tale of Meta's new AI screwing him over from posting videos and making content because...his profile picture also had his husband and comedy partner Jer in it. Social media in 2024 rocks. It's been a big few years for Darcy since he was last on the show, as him and Jer have been touring all across North America and have seen their TikTok absolutely blow up. We discuss that, Vancouver's elimination from the NHL playoffs, and Stefan and Darcy compare notes on their hair. Plus, a great Goldilocks meme, Dan Snyder gets mad about funding a Trump movie that turns out to be a negative portrayal of him, and we find a great sign in Germany. If you're looking for a great sign to donate to your beautiful Blocked Boys...this is it! Head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Danielle Florence joined us for a great mailbag episode, and this week, Randee Neumeyer joins us for a Cullen the Herd episode where John gets blocked by a fellow Leafs fan. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and more, so check it out! Darcy Michael is a TikTok star who is on tour with his husband Jer this summer and into the fall. Tickets and dates are available at darcyandjer.com. You can follow Darcy on Instagram at @thedarcymichael. This episode is also available in video format on our YouTube. It's the second episode in a row we have a guest returning after a long layoff, as Randee Neumeyer (comedian) returns to the show and folks...it's an all-timer. Randee has a very strange interaction on Facebook Marketplace where she gets blocked by a potential customer, so she does what anyone else would do in this situation: she takes it to Instagram. It's a great Block Tale buoyed by a great episode as we go ALL the way off the rails discussing flipping TV channels as a kid, potentially entering our Chris Gaines' eras, solving religion, getting standing ovations, and Randee introduces us to a site we were not at all prepared for as we officially enter our "Sketchy Sex" era. Plus, Randee introduces us to the world of Hinge and the concept of "rose jail", we check in on some guys who think the algorithm is against them, and a PGA Tour executive gives an insanely baffling interview. If you want some more insanely baffling content, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every damn month! Last week, our good friend Libby Watson joined us to answer your questions in our Blocked Bag, and this week, Ryan Beil returns to the show to complete what we threatened to do on his most recent episode: Stefan and John perform Edward Albee's one-act play Zoo Story. Video was also made, and it was...well, it was insane. Plus: merch discounts, access to our Discord, and MORE! Randee Neumeyer is a comedian whose debut album, Bad Baby, is available wherever you get your comedy albums. You can follow her on Twitter and Instagram at @randeenoodle. It's time for one of the most puzzling albums we've ever covered on this show, a pure nu-metal album that came out in the complete dead zone of 2013 from a bunch of guys who don't seem interested in anything other than trying to be famous. From a "club banger about football" to a myriad of ballads to songs about drugs and killing everyone, this album literally has it all. And it's all bad. So of course, Bryan loves it! We dive into some of the more questionable lyrics on the album, why they love lions so much, and how you can possibly write songs when everyone in the band is a singer and they don't seem to have worked out any sort of writing process. Oh, and their old lead singer definitely made up a story about them jumping him after a show, they're all Scientologists, and they've worn more masks than any other band in history. It's a wild ride. If you want to be taken on more wild rides, check out our Patreon and support the show over at patreon.com/thepodkast, where we review two nu-metal singles and one album every month for just $4. Last month, we covered the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack with our pal Randee Neumeyer, and we have more awesome stuff on the way. Plus you get access to our Discord, you get a monthly listening list so you can prepare for the episodes, and MORE!
Brent and Christine (and Shane) answer questions about household chores and more on this latest episode. With special guest Randee Neumeyer!
Sophie Ross (writer/podcaster) joins us to discuss a pretty big-time block from Kendall Jenner that involved getting quote-tweeted by Kim Kardashian and a whole lot of Twitter drama. It's a perfect fit for our show and so is Sophie, as we run down her post-COVID return to the New York City lifestyle, complete with a 3 am Taco Bell run. We also get into hockey and football which leads to a discussion of Sophie's crush on Bengals QB Joe Burrow, Stefan reads out a crazy wedding story, and John is unhappy with Stefan's Coke Freestyle machine choice. One choice you won't be unhappy with is donating to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. This past week, we put up another mailbag with Randee Neumeyer that Stefan's mom described as a "total cumfest", so that was pretty fun, and we have the continuation of our Canadian Education Programme coming very soon. It's all there and you won't wanna miss anything! Sophie Ross is a writer who can be found in various publications including Refinery29 and Betches. She guests on a podcast called "So Bad It's Good" every Monday and can be followed on Twitter at @SophRossss.
Nate Ruess (musician, fun.) joins the show to talk about a very weird series of tweets from the guy from Eve 6, who called out Nate's band and forced Nate to block him just because Nate was sick of people talking to him about it. Nate doesn't get sick of talking to us though, as we run through our old high school days after John talks about playing some fun. songs with his teacher band at a Christmas concert. We wonder what it would take to get statues built of us at our respective alma maters as Nate talks about growing up with pet horses, getting dumped in high school, and how contracting mono helped him graduate. Elsewhere in the episode, we watch Joey try the BTS meal, Nate explains how he found his true calling on Twitter, and we FINALLY, after almost a year of trying, get some art from Tony Posnanski. Something that's much easier to get is a bunch of bonus content over at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every month. This week, we reopen the Blocked Bag and answer YOUR listener questions with past guest and comedian Randee Neumeyer, and we have lots of other great bonus content coming up you won't want to miss, including newsletters and the continuation of our Canadian Education Programme for Foreign Podcasters, where we teach non-Canadian guests about Canadian pop culture. Nate Ruess is the lead singer of fun. and The Format as well as a solo artist, but he has nothing to plug and does not want you to follow him (but he can be found on Twitter at @nateruessmusic).
