On the 10th September 2024, the music from the Marvel Animated series DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS was released by Dulcima Records on 10th September, exactly 40 years after the show premiered in the UK. The show's music was written by British composer Johnny Douglas, who, in addition to having a diverse career in film and television, was the composer of music for Marvel's animated series in the 1980s, which included SPIDER-MAN, SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, G.I. JOE, and TRANSFORMERS. His filmography includes the classic 1965 sci-fi adventure CRACK IN THE WORLD and the British children's classic THE RAILWAY CHILDREN. Louise Camby, Johnny Douglas' granddaughter, is currently researching a book on his life and career called TRACKS TO MY GRANDFATHER'S SUCCESS, and in October 2024 she spoke with Jason Drury about her grandfather's life and work, how the book was coming along, and how, by chance, she discovered music from DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS in Johnny Douglas' archives. During the show, we'll hear music from DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS, as well as other music from Johnny Douglas' career. Enjoy. —— Special thanks to our Patreon supporters: Matt DeWater, David Ballantyne, Joe Wiles, Maxime, William Welch, Tim Burden, Alan Rogers, Dave Williams, Max Hamulyák, Jeffrey Graebner, Don Mase, Victor Field, Jochen Stolz, Emily Mason, Eric Skroch, Alexander Schiebel, Alphonse Brown, John Link, Andreas Wennmyr, Matt Berretta, Eldaly Morningstar, Jim Wilson, Glenn McDorman, Chris Malone, Steve Karpicz, Deniz Çağlar, Brent Osterberg, Jérôme Flick, Sarah Brouns, Aaron Collins, Randall Derchan, Angela Rabatin, Michael Poteet, Larry Reese, Thomas Tinneny, William Burke, Rudy Amaya, Stacy Livitsanis, Rick Laird, Carl Wonders, Nathan Blumenfeld, Lee Wileman, Daniel Herrin, Scott Bordelon, James Alexander, Brett French, Ian Clark, Ron, Andy Gray, Joel Nichols, Steve Daniel —— Cinematic Sound Radio is fully licensed to play music by SOCAN. Okay, so here's the story: Three friends share an apartment and fight crime in the city. No, it's not an ultra-cool version of “Three's Company”, though I'd love to see that. Can you imagine Crissy, Janet and Jack having to stop the Ferley-nator? Me, neither. This is a group of friends who have the power of fire, ice and… spiders? Okay. Here now is the story of how these characters came to Saturday Morning.Where did this radioactive wonder originate?Would we have liked him just as much if he were dressed in purple and orange? Was he really the “emissary of hell”?All these questions, and more, will be answered in this look at SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS! Thanks for ‘tooning in. This week, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1981 to pick, for the second time in the history of this podcast, an episode of an early-80s Spider-Man animated series in which a villain kidnaps a superhero and Spidey has to chase that villain all the way to Europe to rescue the superhero from a creepy old castle. Something something Doofenshmirtz, something something two nickels. Join Tony Goldmark, Kyle A. Carrozza, Luke Ski and a Surprise Special Guest as they look out, for here comes the SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS, season one, episode seventeen, "The Bride of Dracula!" NOTE: For those who like to watch each episode topic before listening, if you watch Disney+ on a computer, it might list "The Bride of Dracula" as episode 18, not 17. We were all in the same room watching on a TV when we were recording, and the TV said it was episode 17, so that's what we went with. "The Bride of Dracula" is the only TV episode we cover in this podcast episode, regardless of which number it is for you. Check out my guests' stuff! KYLE A. This week, my brother Travis comes back to the Multiverse as we travel back to a 1981 episode of Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends called "7 Little Superheroes!" It's guest stars galore as Spidey is joined not only by Iceman and Firestar, but also Captain America, Doctor Strange, Namor and Shanna The Jungle Queen to face off with the Chameleon! We talked such topics as the greatness of the team-up, The Submariner at his best when he's a jerk, Dr. Strange doing next to nothing, annoying animal sidekicks (again) and... "jungle instincts." All this and more as we discuss ol' webhead... in cartoon form!

or "DANGER! At Mysterio's Disco Palace" In part four of our retrospective of animated adaptations, we revisit Marvel's own personal quarter-life crisis. From the day Spider-Man made friends to how the X-Men found their pryde, we track the bizarre arc of Marvel Productions from 1981-1989, and once again make everything better with Human Torch. Who is "Sidewinder", and what does he stand to gain? Why does Aunt May have a vial of acid and murder on her mind? And which of your favorite heroes are truly better off as bears? To find out, well, you'll just have to listen!
