Starcast presented in association with Thor's Ice Cream Craig & Jono are joined by Nick Rothwell for a fantastic chat about his work with Re-Tribe, a network supporting current and former players with wellbeing, mental health and other issues. Nick talks passionately about his own journey as a player, broadcaster and then how he lost himself and hit rock bottom. We'll certainly have Nick back in the new year. Find Nick's organisation at www.retribecollective.com and on social media. Nick is also on Twitter/X, Instagram and Facebook. There is also a Re-Tribe podcast on Apple, Spotify and YouTube. The guys then look back at the Stars' six point weekend with wins in Hull and home to Sheffield, before review and results and tables across the division. We look ahead to a trip to North Wales for our only weekend fixture against the Deeside Dragons. Finally AOB reminder about Christmas Draw, the Teddy Toss was again fantastic, and our mascot experience from Sunday which made Craig feel verrrrry old. Starcast presented in association with Thor's Ice Cream Our intrepid trio sail the good ship Starcast again, and boy is there a lot to talk about! We cover Billingham's trip to Blackburn along with a late suspension, segregated seating and 12 skaters on the biggest ice in the league. Happy 16th birthday Will Thornton - MOM in Blackburn! We look ahead to a double header weekend with a quick return to Hull before Sheffield are the visitors for our Teddy Toss game - the gang talk about the importance of the event to the club, the town and mostly the patients and staff in hospital at Christmas. Overnight Wednesday to Thursday we will experience a truly unusual New Moon, arriving at a packed and sensitive moment. This is the alignment of retrograde Mercury conjunct the Moon, the Sun and the Earth — at exactly the same time. The Moon and Mercury will pass between the Earth and Sun at exactly the same time. The chances of this even happening are remote but here it is. And it takes place in the what's called the anaretic degrees of Scorpio — way at the end of the sign, indicating major change; and a point of no return. In this article and Starcast, I'll comment on the public and collective expressions of this aspect; in the readings below (for Sun and rising sign), I speak to you as an individual with your own private concerns. The New Moon conjunct Mercury takes place at 28+ Scorpio (which is really the 29th degree). When you have one very hot degree, it's helpful to check what is contacting that degree from the other three directions — that is, what's making squares and oppositions? You get a lot of clues. I've put the chart below this article in case you dare to look at the basic data.Let's call out something obvious: this lunation is opposite Uranus, which is in the last degree of Taurus. The New Moon is itself a trigger, and then the Moon and the Sun immediately oppose precipitous (and misnamed) Uranus, the disruptor, the agitator and the rebel. This setup has that distinct sprung-like-a-trap feeling, and some “unexpected” events will move quickly from here. Here in the States, we are watching the Jeffrey Epstein-Donald Trump child sex trafficking unfold like the latest reality show. We are finding out just how many people will give the president a pass on his affinity for teenagers (he said on the Howard Stern show that 12 is too young). Greetings from Upstate New York — This episode tracks the Moon and (retrograde) Mercury through the formation of a remarkable New Moon in Scorpio on Nov. 20. The fancy flourish at the beginning of the retrograde was Mercury backing into a conjunction with Mars on Wednesday. This is a perplexing form of hot-headedness, potentially containing the ingredients of bad decisions and over-generalizations. Yet at its best, retrograde Mercury conjunct Mars gives rise to real questions, including questioning one's own opinion, or discovering that you overlooked a few things. Meantime, the Moon is waning toward the new phase, on Nov. 20. This is an impressive lunation with Mercury making yet another conjunction — this time to the Moon and the Sun. So it's a New Moon conjunct Mercury retrograde. Before that: the Moon entered Virgo Wednesday evening. It'll enter Libra at 4:43 am EST on Saturday, Nov. 15. Then it will enter Scorpio on Monday, Nov. 17 at 4:44 pm EST. The next day retrograde Mercury re-enters Scorpio, followed by the New Moon conjunct Mercury overnight Wednesday to Thursday, Nov. 19-20. So far, Mercury retrograde is off to a rollicking start. More on Starcast above, and on Friday's Planet Waves FM.Thank you for visiting. You are listening to Planet Waves. Mercury stations retrograde in Sagittarius on Sunday, Nov. 9. It will slide back into Scorpio on Tuesday, Nov. 18 and finally resume direct motion on Saturday, Nov. 29 (during Thanksgiving weekend in the U.S.). There is a very unusual New Moon in Scorpio conjunct retrograde Mercury on Thursday, Nov. 20. One of the most unusual features is at the beginning, when on Wednesday, Nov. 12, retrograde Mercury forms a conjunction to Mars in early Sagittarius. This would appear to be a personal turning point and also a collective one (per events developing in the chart for the presidential inauguration back on Jan. 20 — so recently and so long ago).
