Þar heyrðum við góðar sögur frá Hlíðarenda, Hammarby í Svíþjóð, HM í Frakklandi 1998, HM í Rússlandi 2018 og EM í Frakklandi árið 2016 þegar Íslendingar unnu m.a. frækinn sigur á Englendingum. Og sökum þess að þátturinn hófst með boltalátum þá hélt þáttastjórnandi boltanum gangandi með fótboltalögum. Hér er lagalisti þáttarins: Frá 08-09: Lón - Hours. This is one of our FAVORITE episodes that we've ever recorded! We walk back through the equipment that gave us pivotal improvements throughout our careers in PRS. The raw food diet faces criticism for nutritional restrictions. The Mediterranean style of eating has once again secured its position as the top choice for a healthy lifestyle, as announced by the U.S. News & World Report for the seventh consecutive year. The 2024 ratings revealed the Mediterranean diet as the best overall diet, excelling in categories such as ease of adherence, family-friendliness, and benefits for diabetes, bone, joint, and heart health. Plant-based diets took the spotlight, with the DASH and MIND diets claiming second and third places respectively. In a significant move, the expert committee evaluated the vegan diet for the first time, granting it the third spot among the best plant-based diets. Additional newcomers to the 2024 list included the Dukan, Herbalife Nutrition, HMR, Profile Plan, and Plantstrong diets, each bringing their unique approach to nutrition. U.S. News emphasized their commitment to guiding users through the overwhelming world of diets by consulting medical and nutrition experts. Understanding the Mediterranean Style of Eating The Mediterranean diet, characterized more as a lifestyle than a stringent regimen, has consistently shown health benefits. Research indicates its potential to reduce the risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, dementia, memory loss, depression, and breast cancer. Emphasizing simple, plant-based cooking, the diet revolves around fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, seeds, and extra-virgin olive oil. Limited consumption of red meat, encouragement of oily fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and smaller portions of eggs, dairy, and poultry are key features. The social aspect of meals and regular exercise form integral parts of this eating style. Sharing meals with friends and family, savoring favorite foods mindfully, and engaging in mindful movement contribute to the holistic approach of the Mediterranean diet. The Raw Food Diet: A Bottom Performer Earning the last spot on the list of 30 best overall diets is the raw food diet, advocating the consumption of uncooked, unprocessed, and pesticide-free foods. Despite apparent health benefits, experts caution against its nutritional restrictions and potential safety concerns. Dr. Vanita Rahman recommends integrating raw foods into a whole foods, plant-based diet for a safer and healthier approach. Keto Diet: A Controversial Ranking While the popular keto diet secured the top spot for fast weight loss, it landed in 25th place overall. Criticized for its extreme carbohydrate restrictions, experts argue its difficulty to sustain over the long term. Not recommended for individuals with certain health conditions, pregnant individuals, and athletes, concerns about cognitive decline, nutritional deficiencies, kidney stones, heart disease, and muscle loss have raised skepticism about the diet's long-term safety. Mediterranean (Med-i-ter-ra-ne-an): The Mediterranean diet, characterized more as a lifestyle than a stringent regimen, has consistently shown health benefits.Characterized (Char-ac-ter-ized): The Mediterranean diet, characterized more as a lifestyle than a stringent regimen, has consistently shown health benefits.Cholesterol (Cho-les-ter-ol): Research indicates its potential to reduce the risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, dementia, memory loss, depression, and breast cancer.Nutritional (Nu-tri-tion-al): Despite apparent health benefits, experts caution against its nutritional restrictions and potential safety concerns.Carbohydrate (Car-bo-hy-drate): Criticized for its extreme carbohydrate restrictions, experts argue its difficulty to sustain over the long term. In the realm of ultra-luxury event design, the pressure to exceed the client's high expectations comes with the territory. Creatively speaking, it's hard to say no to the vision, and that requires us to constantly push the boundaries of what's possible. The work of designers is incredibly detailed and precise, and that can be a heavy energy expenditure to whoever's at the helm of that vision. The designer's job is to push, cultivate and curate everyone around them to elevate to the level of that vision. That's something Rishi Patel does extremely well. How do you create flexibility in a process that often requires set timelines and plans? How do you craft designs where everything serves a purpose instead of just stuffing rooms with details? In this episode, the CEO and CCO of HMR Designs joins us to share how he went from finance to event design, and the process behind the work he delivers. Guest Bio Rishi Patel is the CEO and CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER of HMR Designs. Named one of the top Wedding and Event Designers in the world by Harper's Bazaar, VOGUE, Brides and Martha Stewart Weddings, along with being recognized as Top 40 under 40, Rishi remains one of the most highly coveted event designers among discerning clientele and notable figures alike. An advocate for fully transformative design, he specializes in celebrations of all kinds – all while adhering to the firm belief that service and guest experience are the cornerstone to great events and the definition of true luxury. From galas, to weddings, to milestone celebrations, any event is in his wheelhouse. An educational background in Finance and an MBA from Indiana University has afforded him the ability to lead the HMR team from a fiscal perspective – though it's his artistic passion that allows him to design the fantastical events he is known for. As much of a creative visionary as an astute business leader, Rishi's insistence on unconventionality has continuously transformed the landscape of event design while granting him the honor of designing events for some of the most notable figures, families and organizations in the world. A loyal Chicago native and avid traveler, Rishi regularly seeks inspiration from whatever cultural landscape he can find himself in. The destination event and wedding world has allowed Rishi and the HMR team to embrace so many incredible regions and pockets of the world to create spectacular events. Regardless of the marvelous adventures in design that await him, Rishi will always consider himself an artist at heart. For more information, head to https://hmrdesigns.com/.

The 17 HMR is old enough to vote! We have been shooting the 17 HMR for 21 years. We talk with Justin Aamodt who has probably heard more 17 HMR fired than any other person alive. Justin and his wife, Nikki, are the owners of Diamond A Guides, based near Crane, Oregon, where they help control the population of the Belding's ground squirrel, otherwise known as the sage rat – keeping the alfalfa safe for livestock. Every spring we go to rat camp and almost everyone uses the 17 HMR to the tune of 500 rounds per day per person. This week I bring back trauma healing practitioner Lenora Edwards, who I've had as a guest before on the podcast talking about speech therapy. We went a bit deeper into the healing she discovered during her "side hustle", and how baking, two root canals, and some YouTube videos sent her down a path of healing that has opened doors for a whole new way she helps others. Lenora and I discuss trauma, HMR, and pathways to healing that go beyond "self-help" to truly helping yourself.
