"What are the stories that people can participate in and see themselves in? I think that's one of the keys that we can unlock when it comes to the whole climate narrative is telling stories that build the scaffolding blocks to a larger narrative that people want to be a part of, and we need to make it feel inevitable….The way that justice prevails, whether it's environmental justice or any kind of justice, I think it's that the leaders make it feel inevitable. And that's the climate movement's job. And I think we have every opportunity and ability to do that." Melissa Jun Rowley on Electric Ladies Podcast The movements have been struggling to connect with people to communicate the vital messages about protecting the planet and its inhabitants. How can the climate and justice movements engage people again? Listen to Melissa Jun Rowleg, author of "Beyond the Mic Drop: How Stories Can Shift Culture, Power & Policy" and communications expert and journalist in this fascinating conversation with Electric Ladies Podcast host Joan Michelson. You'll hear about: ● How stories and narratives work to engage people of all stripes. ● How emotion is key to connecting with people, helping them see themselves in the story ● Tips on how to develop and tell stories and tie them into a narrative campaign to drive a positive message for the planet and its inhabitants ● Plus, career advice, such as: "You really need to start looking at yourself differently. You're looking at yourself as one thing, but your skills, your assets, your talents, your passion can be so many things to so many other people…Try to look outside yourself a bit.…It's very hard to see ourselves clearly, and I don't know if we ever really do…So, if you're able to, just talk to other people and say…'What do you see in my skillset and in my energy and in what I've accomplished so far and what I could do that maybe I'm not looking at?' Because it is so hard to see ourselves…(and) it's important to celebrate our wins." Send us Fan MailYour inbox shouldn't be able to ruin your mood, but when emails disappear for weeks and a password reset tells you you're “too close” to the old password, it's hard not to fantasize about typewriters and stamps. We start there, in that specific modern frustration where you're working hard yet producing nothing, then pull the thread into a bigger question: what's the real difference between high tech and low tech, and how do you use either one to your advantage without losing your mind? From there we jump into Falcon Crest Season 5 Episode 9, “The Naked Truth,” where power plays are still mostly analog and somehow even more dangerous. Angela Channing is trapped in a not-so-romantic engagement with Peter Stravos, Emma arrives with a new boyfriend who looks uncannily like Captain Planet, and Lance detonates his own future by flipping a radio station from news to rock in the middle of the day. The drama is funny, sharp, and surprisingly relevant if you've ever watched people mistake chaos for strategy. We also dig into the darker edge of control and privilege: Richard crosses a boundary with Jordan, and she makes it crystal clear what consequences look like when a brilliant lawyer stops playing nice. Meanwhile Chase leans on Terry and the sheriff to set a sting on Councilman Costello, forcing the uncomfortable question of whether “getting the bad guy” is just entrapment with better outfits. And then Angela does what Angela does best: she hosts a garden party, grabs the microphone, and turns a toast into a public demolition. If you love 1980s soap opera recaps, messy family politics, and commentary that connects TV plots to real-life work and power dynamics, hit play. Subscribe, share with a fellow soap fan, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
Du finner Dr Natalia Sadowski her: insta: @lilamakeloveFlexbeam: www.flexbeameksklusiv rabattkode i juni: BG20 for 20% rabatt.Sjekk ut FlexBeam appen ogsåRedigert av Micdrop media

Uff. So.

In this episode of The High Performance Mindset, Dr. Cindra Kamphoff sits down with entrepreneur, speaker, and author Jess Ekstrom to explore what it really takes to build confidence, find intrinsic motivation, and share your voice without losing yourself in the process. Jess is the founder of Mic Drop Workshop, where she has helped thousands of women become more confident speakers and step into their voice. Her upcoming book, Making It Without Losing It, focuses on how to stay grounded, purpose-driven, and intrinsically motivated in high-pressure, performance-based environments. At the heart of this conversation is a powerful shift: moving from being a "spotlight speaker"—focused on how you're being judged—to a "lighthouse speaker"—focused on how you can help others. Jess shares how this shift not only reduces anxiety but also improves performance, authenticity, and impact. The conversation also dives into intrinsic vs. extrinsic motivation, and why chasing outcomes, recognition, or approval can lead to burnout and disconnection. Instead, Jess encourages us to reconnect with purpose, focus on what we can control, and measure success by impact—not applause. This episode is a powerful reminder that confidence and fulfillment aren't built by performing for others—but by staying connected to what truly matters and using your voice to serve. You'll Learn: • The difference between a spotlight speaker and a lighthouse speaker—and how it changes your confidence • How to shift from outcome-driven thinking to purpose-driven performance • A simple "purpose test" to evaluate your motivation • Why intrinsic motivation leads to more creativity, fulfillment, and impact • How to stay confident and authentic—even in high-pressure environments Episode Resources & Links Learn more about Jess Ekstrom: https://jessekstrom.com/ Register for the Mental Performance Summit April 17th: https://mentalperformancesummit.org/ Learn more about the Mentally Strong Institute: https://mentallystronginstitute.com/ Request a Free Mental Breakthrough Call: https://freementalbreakthroughcall.com/ Download the Confidence Research Study: https://confidencestudy.com/

What if the biggest threat to your podcast isn't audience fatigue…is the guest you're letting hold your microphone hostage? Not your audio quality. Not the algorithm. Not your tech stack.Your lack of command.“Just letting the conversation flow naturally” is the fastest way to kill your podcast monetization. When you surrender control of the interview to a rambling guest, you betray the trust of your listeners. To step into true Mic Drop Mastery, the kind of unquestionable authority that turns a chaotic conversation into a highly leveraged asset, you have to stop playing the passive host and start operating like a strategist.
