Are you questioning if you’re in the right job or heading down the right career path? If you answered yes, you won’t want to miss this career coaching inspiration from today’s guest Shay Perry. Shay is the owner of Harmony Dreams Coaching and a Career Coach, helping women who are starting over in their careers. Studying psychology in college, planted the seed of how passionate she is about helping other people. However, she also learned how being in the wrong job only left her drained and despaired, despite the abundance of money and prestige her job had as a restaurant manager. Was it worth it? Shay had status, money, prestige, and was getting kudos from her family and colleagues. But it did not satisfy something deep on the inside. She was miserable. And it didn’t matter that she was really good at the work and knew she was good at it, but there was a sense of satisfaction that came when you're good at something, and it was good Money and all the trappings of what a person should want. But I knew it wasn't for me, absolutely knew it wasn't for me, it was draining me to get up every day. “Follow your heart and the money will come” Shay followed her heart and is a career calling coach or a career transition coach. She works mostly with women, and helps women identify what their calling is, within their career. Typically, it's women who feel very dissatisfied and drained by their current work, and help them identify the path that will light them up from the inside out. Shay believes it's possible for us to have work that fulfills us that brings joy and happiness to our lives. And believes that when we don't have that, it has repercussions in so many areas of our lives, not just our jobs, but segues into our families and to our communities, our relationships with our friends, and our energy levels for time outside of work. She has experienced all facets of struggles that can come with contemplating a new career direction. And also knows that there is no greater joy than that which comes from spending the biggest block of time we have each week, at work, in alignment with who we truly are: our gifts, our passions, our talents, our interests. And for that reason, today Shay delights in helping other women overcome the struggles, both inner and outer, associated with changing careers, so that they too can experience the joy that comes from living in harmony with the calling of our hearts. “Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” Shay honestly believes that if we follow our hearts, the money will come. And in a lot of situations, She has seen way more money come than people would imagine; you just haven't explored the opportunities. A lot of times we hear as kids like, “Oh, you can't make any money at art, you can't make any money in that field or this field. So you just squash that dream. And you don't even give it any energy because you think you can't, but you've never explored the ways that you can. And it's amazing once people start to give themselves permission to explore those things, it becomes possible. Takeaways: “As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” Quote by Marianne Williamson Be part of a chain reaction by lighting each other up one person at a time. Carrie Robaina shares her 3 best tips for making the transition back-to-school easier in the midst of a pandemic whether you're homeschooling, going to private or public school!  This Week's Takeaways: - As we go back to school the best thing we can do as followers of Jesus is to respect others even if we disagree    - Grace goes a long way. If someone makes a different choice from us as to how they approach the school year we must absolutely show them love and not point fingers.    - Prayer is the BEST thing we can do. Pray for administrators, teachers, parents, our own family, and of course our children. Below are some verses you can pray over your kids.  Bible verses you can pray over your children: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11 NIV “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5 NIV “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17 NIV “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 NIV “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 NIV “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV This Week’s Sponsor:  Find Your Fit  Listen to the She Walks In Truth Podcast:  Listen on Apple Podcasts here Listen on Spotify here Listen on the blog here Episode Gear: Microphone and Gear Used To Record This Episode  http://carrierobaina.com/podcastgear Connect with Carrie on Social Media: instagram.com/carrierobaina  facebook.com/carrierobaina

Dr. Cherise Felix, MD., was so popular on the show last time that Bunnie wanted to bring her back to answer all your questions, no matter how weird and out there they are. She talks about the expansion of her medical spa, The Service Station, including services now for men, and gives us advice about everything from IUD’s, how to revamp the sex drive after a hysterectory, menopause, and squirting. She also shares a horror story about the craziest usage of paper towels known to man.    Takeaways: As an OBGYN, Dr. Felix has taken care of thousands of patients and brings both knowledge and empathy when working with their concerns about their bodies and health.  The Service Station in Smyrna, TN offers everything from Body Contouring, GYN services, Laser Hair Removal, Hormone Replacement Therapy and now some services for men. It’s your place to get lifted, tucked, sucked, and just about every other service you can think of to make you the best version of yourself.  Very supportive bras aren’t always the best thing for helping the boobies lift and stay up there — make sure you are also balancing it out with enough natural gravity.  You can thank two glands on the side of the urethra for squirting, or female ejaculation. Some can do it easily, others have to find the sweet spot in which it occurs.  If you are concerned about your libido, make sure you work with a physician to get a complete panel of your hormone levels.  It’s important to also consider family history, genetics, and DNA when understanding why a miscarriage may occur.  Make sure you know where your paper towel rolls are at all times, or else a doctor like Dr. Felix will have to go in and get ‘em.    Quotes:  “I think I’ve been perimenopausal since I was 19.” - B  “I don’t think I’m a normal 40 year old, so I’ll go into menopause when I’m like 85.” - B  “I’m the only Instagram model where you can’t find my vagina online.” - B “At the end of all the sacrifice we made, we should be able to enjoy our life.” - Dr. Felix   Mentioned:  Cherise Felix The Service Station: Facebook | Instagram    Check out Bunnie:  @xomgitsbunnie BunnieXo  @officialdumbblonde

As leaders, we leverage either the power of love or fear to motivate or to manipulate those in our care.  Love helps us stay connected, especially in a season of struggle. In healthy relationships, we can work together in ways that build strength and maturity.  Fear requires that we "divide and conquer." Manipulation often keeps our eyes on the prize instead of on the people around us, who may need our love.  Manipulation is an almost guaranteed way to keep us disconnected, weak, and immature.  In this episode, we wrestle with a great question from a LIF listener and we talk about the power of SEROTONIN, the leadership chemical.  Join us and linger in these TAKEAWAYS: As a leader and a parent, provide opportunities to work together instead of simply offering a prize for compliance so those you lead can build relationships of trust and grow stronger and wiser, instead of just earning more prizes. As a leader and a parent, model asking for help when you need it. Humility puts us in a position to receive the benefits of love. Our willingness to be humble teaches those we're leading the power of a transformational culture. "Put it on a paper plate." Love is always safe and never soft. When there is a struggle or an issue, name it. Write it down. Talk about it face to face. And move the issue from between you to in front of you--and look at it together. This is the power of love. Advances in technology in the past have made today's population possible, but future advances may be needed, especially in the face of an increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Soil microbes that partner with crop plants for the benefit of each may be part of the solution. One option to explore is a group called mycorrhizal fungi, which associate with plant roots to extend their nutrient-gathering ability, in exchange for carbon compounds produced by photosynthesis. This study examined the influence of increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere on the interaction of several varieties of wheat with these fungi. Journal Paper: Thirkell TJ, Pastok D, Field KJ. Live video is something so many real estate agents are afraid of, but implementing it into our marketing can help us get more people wanting to work with us. What kind of content can we create and how can we optimize it? How can we boost our video content with chatbots and Messenger? How can we use chatbots without spamming people? On this episode, I’m joined by fellow speaker, regular collaborator, and technology expert, Jeremias "JMan" Maneiro, who talks about how we can get more comfortable with Live video.    3 Takeaways As real estate agents, we are now broadcasters in our own right. Through YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, we can create quality video content that allows us to reach the masses.  When we interview local businesses, we should approach it like reporters. Our goal should be to highlight and make the community look good. Put out a video on Facebook, and when people comment on that video, they can end up in our chatbot. Then we can segment the conversation further by sending people content that is relevant to them.  As real estate agents, we need to stop getting ourselves ready to do video and just go for it. Ultimately, success all starts with relationships and those relationships are created through content that helps people know, like and trust us. The content doesn’t have to be perfectly polished, if we have high energy and people are hooked from the beginning, we’ll get the engagement and the algorithms will push out the content and we will connect with people. If we leverage Messenger to create content that’s relevant to our audience, we can take it even further.

Let’s meet Krista Fabrick. Krista teaches Marketing and Social Networking through both the theoretical side and the more practical elements, utlising the many social platforms in what she teaches. This also transfers onto startups and small businesses, who simply haven’t the time to sit down, learn, develop and implement a marketing strategy. Not only that, but Krista is also pursuing a Doctorate in Business Admin and Marketing with a specific view on social media. More on that later.   Takeaways - As we heard last week with our chat with Mark Shaw, you need to understand the platforms to use them successfully. Krista takes this one step further with the premise that you need to understand the history, the principals, strategies, frameworks and foundations of each platform to early gain a competitive advantage when using them. Without this knowledge you are starting right at the bottom with a long way to go! - Consistency, consistency, consistency. Showing up regularly and getting into the habit of this being part of your daily life. Yes there are other comms channels we need to consider, but they are just they same. We all need consistency in what we do, which leads onto the final takeaway. - Learn the theory and practice this in the real world. It what good marketing is all about. Many don't want to do the theory and go straight to the practical, which can work, but in my opinion, it takes twice as long and not documenting your progress can start to make you make decisions based on intuition alone. Not a good long term strategy.   Top Tip - The 7P's round up I just want to wrap up our look at the 7 P’s, the extended marketing mix and why it’s important that you always consider every element. They are all linked together. If you change one element it will have an effect on others. Lets take a look at an example of how this would work. Let's start with Price – And you increase the price of a service dramatically. This will have an effect on the People as your customer will expect a higher level of service for a higher price. Your Physical Evidence will probably have to be updated to highlight the additional quality you now include.  And your Promotional material will need to mirror the change in both physical evidence and pricing structure. That is the complexity of the Marketing Mix and why it should never be placed in the background. It should be front and center in your tactical Marketing approach. Reality TV has done a disservice to the world of real estate by making people think that getting into the industry and becoming successful just happens. What are some of the realities of real estate that we don’t hear about on HGTV? How can new agents build a business that goes the distance? How can we make ourselves more memorable, and stop wasting opportunities? On this episode, I’m joined by agent, trainer, and author of “The Reality of Real Estate”, Candy Miles-Crocker, and we talk about how agents can set themselves up for success.  People who don't take the time to build systems after that first year of success burnout. -Candy Miles-Crocker 3 Takeaways As a new agent, choose a brokerage that offers training and education.  Long-term sustainable success in real estate is built on systems. Don’t be afraid to ask for the business. If you’re not actually putting yourself out there, you're wasting an opportunity. Running a real estate business without a foundation and the right mindset leads to burnout, stress and as a whole the high turnover our industry has. In order to build sustainable success, you have to run the business with intention and purpose, show up well-dressed, interact with people, and have the confidence to ask for the business. With the right systems in place, you can run an efficient business and stay in business for decades.

Are you actively doing your part to help the planet? Just last week I saw a video with a thin-as-a-rake polar bear rummaging through a trash bin for food. Desperate to survive. It breaks my heart. It makes me want to do something. But what can I do? What can we do? It’s counterproductive to become upset, depressed, and to then go on to do nothing; assuming we’re doomed anyway. We need to do our part as consumers, but we need green businesses with great products that have a low-impact on the environment. The more low-impact products are made, the easier it is for us to vote with our wallet. We, the consumers, are powerful. Every exchange of money counts. Every time you refuse a plastic straw counts. Each time you bring your own mason jar to the coffeeshop counts. In this episode I interview Emily Bell who turned her website into somewhat of an activist website one year ago. Her business, Emily vs. Bear, sells ‘protest t-shirts’. The shirts all have a controversial yet beautiful image of something that needs to improve for the sake of our planet. From trash to food to saving the trees to water, and more. Emily is offering you a 10% discount! Purchase your favorite protest t-shirt before December 26th 2018. She is a woman who, with significant fervor towards the preservation of nature, founded a company that opened the eyes of her fellow American millennials and many others. Emily vs Bear is founded on courage. Courage in terms of sticking to principles, having solid, transparent values and wearing them proud. Their T-shirts are meant to draw us into making ethical decisions about the things that we purchase. They believe that fashion is one of the most effective mediums in promoting sustainable living. Emily is offering you a 10% discount! Purchase your favorite protest t-shirt before December 26th 2018. Use the offercode: POWERWOMEN10 Emily’s Advice: Stop using single-use plastic. Change your bank if you’re with the big bank. Reconsider your values and what you stand for, and really stand for them. Get ready to work really hard and don’t quit your day job yet. The Takeaways: As a consumer, you really do hold the power. So you shouldn’t get caught up in the consumerism that is drilled into our brains for years. We need to take a step back. It’s good to be able to discern on the things that we really need and not jump on those fast fashion pieces from malls. It is important to get to know the companies you’re buying from and really take a stand. If their methods are against your values, be firm in your decision to not buy from them. You’ve seen others use it and wonder if you should use it yourself: the technique where you segment or bucket prospects.  This practice violates several psychological principles and most are methodologically unsound so that you drive people away, gather misinformation and make some people think poorly of you.  Avoid it.  Here’s why.   Takeaways: As it is popularly used, this practice suffers from methodological errors and violates principles of psychological measurement with the predictable result of lower response rates and uninterpretable results.   We like to think we are complex and have many layers to us, so don’t then assume others can be simply described by one and only one category.  Use surveys to extract the full depth and complexity of those you want to pull into your orbit.   As I’ve preached before, treat prospects as you would a first date.  Would you ask your date a single question (“Are you adventurous, creative, reserved or intelligent?  You can only pick one!”) and then design the evening around that bucket?  Not unless you want your date to run away, and that’s what your customers are doing.
