Last time, I talked about the virtue of making a plan. The situation isn't good. Bad conflict is brewing. You have decided that it's time for a chat. You want this chat to be productive. So how do you set up for success? One way to work through the set-up is to break it down.   Why?  Who? When? How? Where? What?         Excellent. You have made a plan. A good one. Oops.  As plans do, this one is about to fall apart. Something – or a few things – have changed. Now what? You can use the same approach to figure out your pivot.Of course, I have framed this all of this as considering how to set up for a productive chat and then pivot ahead of time.If the pivot needs to happen after the chat has begun, resist any temptation to plow ahead. Give yourself and the other person (or people) a chance to take a pause. Reconsider and then figure out what that pivot should look like. Do you have comments or suggestions about a topic or guest? Are we witnessing the beginning of a housing market crash, or is this just a healthy correction? With 42% of homes on the market having taken price reductions — the highest level in 12 years — host Dave Meyer sits down with Mike Simonsen, Chief Economist at Compass, to decode what these dramatic inventory changes really mean for investors and homebuyers. This episode reveals why rising inventory and falling prices don't automatically signal a market crash, and how current market dynamics are creating unprecedented buyer negotiating power for the first time in years. My friend Sam and I were discussing the humanitarian crisis in Israel and Palestine, which has been heartbreaking for so many of us and shortly after we spoke, we received word that August 6th-9th there is a "Hunger Strike for Humanity", co-organized by our friends and healing allies, Stephen and Marcina at Reconsider. August 6th and 9th specifically coincides with the 80th Anniversary of the atomic bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The intention and prayer of the fast is to meditate on what we can do in our personal lives to help humanity choose peace over violence and deeply ask, "what kind of world do we want to live in?". This fast is not focused on one specific situation but the myriad conflicts that are happening in the present day (Gaza, Sudan, Congo, Haiti, Ukraine/Russia, Myanmur and so on). Simultaneously, this hunger strike for humanity is stated to be in solidarity with Satyam Homeland's Hunger Strike for Peace, an ongoing hunger strike being carried out by both Israeli and Paelstinians calling for peace, reconciliation between cultures, and the end of the policy of forced starvation and siege on the civilians in Gaza.    This hunger strike isn't a one-sided political movement - it is just a humble, simple inner and outer action we want to take for humanity to recognize that love, compassion, forgiveness,  peace, and a fundamental respect for human rights for all people are the only methods capable of ending conflict both within and without. We are inviting the community to join us in this prayer to advocate for a more compassionate world so that as my teacher, Maestro Manuel, would say, may all people may have clean water, food, shelter, & be happy.    If you feel inspired to join in some manner there is more info below here:    https://multifaithpeace.org/event/vigil-for-humanity-on-80th-year-after-atomic-bombing/ How to Participate This is a personal and collective invitation. You are welcome to join in whatever way resonates with you: Join the vigils and conversations via Zoom Fast in a way that aligns with your capacity—full, partial, from food, a habit or distraction Hold moments of daily silence, prayer, or reflection together Share stories, light candles, or simply witness Together, we reflect with curiosity, become aware of our role in all of it, take responsibility for what we create, reimagine what's possible, and manifest peace through conscious presence. They challenge the isolative logic behind ab-focused exercises, arguing that these strategies often reinforce compression, reduce movement options, and degrade systemic adaptability. Drawing from UHPC principles, they reframe the core not as a region to be strengthened, but as a dynamic interface for managing pressure, guiding shape change, and enabling forward propulsion. In recent days, Syria's formerly designated terrorist group known as HTS has conducted murderous attacks against Christians and Druze communities and seems set on destroying the survivors and what remains of that long-suffering country's other minorities.  Unsurprisingly, the group's erstwhile leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, claims to oppose such crimes against humanity. He has, after all, to keep up appearances of having moderated his historic Sharia-supremacism, for which he was rewarded by President Trump with legitimacy and sanctions relief.  Israel cannot afford such illusions. She has come to the aid of her own Druze population's relatives in Syria and Christians seeking refuge in their midst. And the Israelis have threatened to destroy al-Sharaa's regime if it persists in striking them.  It's time to reconsider the support Washington has given Syria's jihadist regime and stand, instead, with our friends whom it is determined to kill.  This is Frank Gaffney.

BIBLE IN TEN

Tuesday, 8 July 2025   Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: Matthew 11:20   “Then He began to defame the cities in which they occurred – the most of His miracles – because they reconsidered not” (CG).   In the previous verse, Jesus referred to His conduct, having come eating and drinking, which was contrasted to how John conducted himself. He then noted that wisdom is justified from her children. His next words begin to explain the severity of ignoring this wisdom, beginning with, “Then He began to defame the cities in which they occurred.”   The word oneidizó, to defame was previously seen in verse 5:11. It is derived from oneidos, to reproach or disgrace, a word probably akin to onoma, name. Thus, a defaming is indicated.   The cities to be mentioned were part of Israel. They were thus filled with Jews who thought that their cultural makeup and national identity were what made them acceptable to God, regardless of their hearts and actions. Jesus will correct them on this as He continues.   Matthew, intending to show why Jesus' words to these cities are justified, next notes what it is that occurred in them, which is “the most of His miracles.”   The Scriptures concerning the coming Messiah were read in synagogues. The people would have talked about what the Messiah would have been like as they gathered for feasts and other events. When Jesus came and began performing His miracles, most of which were in the surrounding cities, they should have recognized Him and turned their minds. However, it next says, “because they reconsidered not.”   The people saw the miracles He performed, but they didn't heed the words He or John had uttered. Both of them proclaimed the same words to the people –   “And in those days, comes John the Baptist, proclaiming in the desolate of Judea, 2 and saying, ‘Reconsider! For it has neared – the kingdom of the heavens!'” Matthew 3:1, 2   “From then, Jesus, He began to proclaim and to say, ‘Reconsider! For it has neared – the kingdom of the heavens!'” Matthew 4:17   There was to be a turning of the mind, a reconsideration, concerning their conduct before the Lord. However, Jesus will reveal the true situation of the conduct of these cities.   Life application: Jesus is the Word of God. He spoke words on the Father's behalf that were to be heeded. A spoken word that is heard but not heeded means the speaker's intent behind the words has been ignored. James says –   “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:22-25   This appeal from James, and the rebuke of the cities by Jesus, were not something new for the people of Israel. They were told to heed the word and do what it said. At the time of Ezekiel, the Lord spoke, saying –   “As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother, ‘Please come and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.' 31 So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. 32 Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them. 33 And when this comes to pass—surely it will come—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.” Ezekiel 33:30-33   Israel failed to heed and went into exile. Even while in exile, they ignored the word through Ezekiel. Jesus came with the final message to the people under the law. A new covenant was coming. In rejecting Jesus' call to reconsider, they rejected His message.   Today, we have been given instructions about how to conduct our lives in relation to God. First, we are to accept the gospel, receiving by faith what God has done through Jesus. But that is not the end of our responsibilities.   We are to learn the word and apply it to our lives. Those who go to church and hear the word but who then leave without allowing it to mold them have missed the point of going to church. And it may be that the church doesn't even properly present the word.   Our lives are short. We should make every effort possible to use our time wisely, learning the word and applying it to our walk. Don't just be hearers of the word, but doers. In this, God will be pleased.   Lord God, thank You for Your word that can safely guide us through this troubled walk of life. May we wisely accept its teachings and faithfully apply them to our lives. In this, You will surely be pleased. Be with us in this walk, O God. Amen.

Monday, 30 June 2025   And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12   “And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens, it is forced, and forcers, they seize it” (CG).   In the previous verse, Jesus noted the greatness of John among humanity, and yet the least in the kingdom of the heavens was greater than he. He now continues with, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now.”   The “days of John the Baptist” refer to the beginning of his ministry. This was recorded in Matthew 3 –   “And in those days, comes John the Baptist, proclaiming in the desolate of Judea, 2 and saying, ‘Reconsider! For it has neared – the kingdom of the heavens!' 3 For this he is, the ‘having been spoken by Isaiah the prophet,' saying, ‘A voice hollering in the desolate, “Prepare the Lord's way. Make straight His paths.”'” Matthew 3:1-3   From that time, until the time of Jesus' words while speaking to those present, He says that “the kingdom of the heavens, it is forced.”   A new verb, biazó, is seen here. It signifies to force, as in to advance forcefully. It is only found here and in Luke 16. In this verse, scholars debated whether it is in the middle or passive voice. It seems likely that it is passive.   One can think of the kingdom as a castle that is being forced upon by an advancing army. John's words said, “Reconsider! For it has neared – the kingdom of the heavens!” With that, the people came and they were immersed by him in the Jordan.   They were, as it were, forcing their way into what was referred to. Think of a long-anticipated Hollywood movie. Without advance notice, it is sent out to all the movie theaters with a person standing outside at each and saying, “Pull out your wallets! The biggest hit movie of the century has arrived!”   Upon hearing that, the movie theater is forced as people clamor to get in. This is the sense of what is presented. Understanding this, Jesus next says, “and forcers, they seize it.”   Another new word is seen here, biastés, a forcer. It is found only here in the New Testament and is derived from the verb biazó, just used. Both words come from bios, a primary word signifying life, meaning the present state of existence.   One can see the etymological root of our modern-day words such as biosphere, biology, etc. In Jesus' words of this clause, it is as if the movie theater is overwhelmed, and those who were able forced their way in. This is the sense of His words concerning the kingdom. John has “prepared the way of the Lord.” This was his honor, and it is what prompted Jesus to say, “not he has risen in ‘born of women' greater than John the Baptist.”   Unlike some translations, there is nothing violent or hostile in the thought. Rather, Jesus is expressing that there is a surge of hope and anticipation as people rush to receive what John first set forth as the arrival of the kingdom.   Life application: The words of Jesus in this verse continue to be experienced in the hearts of people around the world to this day. Evangelist Ed Hinson once spoke of having preached in Africa. The crowd included a very large and intimidating person holding an AK-47.   Ed noted that this was the last person he could imagine who would be interested in what he had to say. However, he spoke of Jesus and the gospel. As he did, the man broke into tears, receiving Jesus and being added to the roles of the redeemed of heaven.   Instead of force against a military camp, his heart forced its way through the otherwise impregnable walls of heaven, finding access through the shed blood of Christ.   It is good to look back and remember the time when we heard and believed the good news. Life took on a new direction, carried a new sense of purpose, and had a new value that was never before contemplated.   When we consider the event in our own lives, we can hopefully determine to see that come about in the lives of others. Be sure to hand out tracts, speak about Jesus, and even get on the rooftops and shout out about what He has done in your life.   People need Jesus.   “For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2   Lord God, how thankful we are that Jesus has come to grant access to heaven for those who are willing to believe the good news. Help us to be willing to share what we know with those who have yet to accept what You offer through Him. May we not be negligent in this wonderful honor we have in sharing the word. Amen.

I've been meaning to write about this for some time, and @titotal's recent post finally made me do it:Thick red dramatic box emphasis mine. I was going to post a comment in his post, but I think this topic deserves a post of its own. My plea is simply: Please, oh please reconsider using adjectives that reflect a negative judgment (“bad”, “stupid”, “boring”) on the Forum, and instead stick to indisputable facts and observations (“I disagree”, “I doubt”, “I dislike”, etc.). This suggestion is motivated by one of the central ideas behind nonviolent communication (NVC), which I'm a big fan of and which I consider a core life skill. The idea is simply that judgments (typically in the form of adjectives) are disputable/up to interpretation, and therefore can lead to completely unnecessary misunderstandings and hurt feelings: Me: Ugh, the kitchen is dirty again. Chris and Bill reframe it as behavior.05:30 – They differentiate posture as strategy, not structure. 09:45 – Why “Ideal Posture” Is a Myth14:10 – Posture doesn't exist in isolation. The same shape can have different meanings depending on context.19:30 – You can't “fix” posture without shifting the internal strategy.24:40 – From breathing to gaze, small behaviors contribute to posture. 30:10 – Chris and Bill warn that repetitive posture cueing may enforce rigidity. 36:25 – Real-world posture shows up most under pressure. 42:00 – Postures often labeled as “poor” — like slouching — may actually be protective strategies. 48:10 – They offer examples of how decoding posture — rather than correcting it.54:20 – Posture should be seen as “expressed strategy” — a dynamic behavior, not a fixed trait.Key TakeawaysPosture Is Behavior, Not Structure: There Is No Ideal: “Good” or “bad” posture misses the point. It's our monthly conversation about Spirituality and Politics. Joining Marielena and me in the first half of the show today is Marcina Hale, Program Director at Reconsider. She was on the show back in 2019. (Check out show #52 to hear her story). She is an Executive Producer of Fantastic Fungi, Producer of Disturbing the Peace and There is Another Way, and a facilitator for Reconsider's work ”play” shop experiences, which have been held in the U.S. and internationally. Marcina spoke at TEDxKC Women about how to change the world in which we are living. Marcina's vision is to catalyze the creation of experiences that evoke thought and conversations that both challenge and inspire new ways of relating to ourselves and to life itself. There Is Another Way tells the story of a group of visionaries who refuse to surrender to violence and injustice, and in doing so show that another path is possible - for them, for us, for all of humanity. As we are all faced with essential questions about who we are, will we choose collective liberation, where the needs, rights, and safety of all are prioritized - in which our humanity comes first, knowing that no one is free until everyone is free.Combatants for Peace, nominated for two Nobel Peace Prizes, is an extraordinary bi-national group of former enemy combatants -Israelis and Palestinians - working together during an ongoing armed conflict. Faced with the devastation and escalating violence of October 7th and the war in Gaza, the very core of the movement must face great challenges and show that there is another way. The first question they have to face is their own belief... Is this possible?Reconsider is hosting a virtual screening of the film this Thursday, June 12th and an in person screening at the Rosendale Theater on July 25th.Our conversation inspires some deep reflection on what we believe is possible, and what we're doing to hold that vision for peace.Marielena shares info about the upcoming "Voices Unbound," Art Exhibit from incarcerated women at Unison following their Art Spark Program. Learn More From Bill Live on the UHP network http://UHP.networkEpisode OverviewChris and Bill critically examine the traditional “stretch what's tight, strengthen what's weak” model in movement and rehabilitation. They explore how this reductionist approach oversimplifies the complexity of human movement by focusing on isolated muscles rather than systemic behavior. #movement #fitness #stretching #physicaltherapy #health Key Topics & Chapter Highlights00:00 – IntroductionThe hosts introduce the topic by discussing the widespread belief that movement problems can be solved by stretching tight muscles and strengthening weak ones. 03:12 – Critique of ReductionismChris and Bill discuss how the popularity of the reductionist approach stems from its ease of teaching and comfort for both practitioners and clients. 08:40 – Historical Context and Systemic ThinkingThey review historical influences, such as PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) and osteopathic models, which originally emphasized systemic behavior and movement patterns but have since been reduced to isolated techniques.12:30 – The Reality of Stretching and StrengtheningThe hosts explore what actually happens during stretching and strengthening, noting that sensations of tightness are often related to connective tissue tension and body position rather than muscle length. They challenge the idea that stretching makes muscles longer and discuss the potential risks of overstretching.18:20 – Bone and Connective Tissue AdaptationChris and Bill explain that extreme flexibility in athletes is often due to bony and connective tissue adaptations, not just muscle lengthening. 23:50 – Strengthening and Movement BehaviorThe conversation shifts to strengthening, noting that perceived muscle weakness is often a result of body position and systemic constraints rather than isolated muscle deficits. The hosts emphasize that restoring movement options and body shape is more important than targeting individual muscles.30:00 – Case Examples and Clinical ReasoningPractical scenarios—such as hip flexor stretches and glute activation exercises—are discussed to illustrate how traditional interventions may provide temporary relief but fail to address underlying systemic issues. The hosts explain why some interventions work in some contexts but not others.40:15 – Signal vs. Noise in InterventionChris and Bill highlight the importance of reproducible, lasting changes versus temporary symptomatic relief. They encourage practitioners to look for systemic patterns and to avoid over-relying on isolated techniques.45:20 – The Bigger Picture: Adaptability and ConstraintsThe hosts stress that adaptations are context-dependent solutions, not inherently dysfunctional, and that effective intervention requires understanding the whole system.Key TakeawaysMovement and pain are systemic, emergent behaviors shaped by interacting forces and body shape changes, not just isolated muscle function. The “stretch what's tight, strengthen what's weak” model is an oversimplification that often fails, especially with complex cases.Sensations of tightness and weakness are often related to body position and systemic constraints, not just muscle length or strength.Extreme flexibility and perceived muscle tightness can result from bony and connective tissue adaptations, not just muscle behavior.Temporary symptomatic relief is not the same as lasting, systemic change; practitioners should look for reproducible, context-dependent improvements.

Regal AI is revolutionizing the contact center landscape with its voice AI agent platform that's transforming how businesses communicate with customers. With $82 million in funding, Regal has positioned itself at the forefront of the AI revolution in customer service. In this episode of Category Visionaries, I spoke with Alex Levin, CEO and Co-Founder of Regal AI, about the company's journey from building tools to optimize human agent performance to pioneering voice AI agents that can handle customer interactions with unprecedented effectiveness. Topics Discussed: Regal AI's pivot from optimizing human agent calls to developing AI agents The economics of AI agents compared to human agents (10-20¢ per minute vs. $1 per minute) How AI agents achieve 97% containment rates versus the 20-40% traditional benchmark The challenges of enterprise sales in the contact center space The evolution of Regal's go-to-market strategy as AI capabilities have rapidly advanced The future of voice as the primary channel for brand engagement   GTM Lessons For B2B Founders: Timing your product evolution is critical: Alex emphasizes the importance of not moving too early or too late when pivoting to new technology. "If you invested too early, it was a waste, but if you wait too late then all the first trials with every company would be with another AI provider, not with us," Alex explains. Their decision to wait until LLMs were capable enough before focusing on AI agents prevented them from wasting resources on soon-to-be-obsolete technology while still allowing them to be early in the market. Enterprise sales requires embracing the process: When moving upmarket, Alex learned that trying to rush enterprise sales leads to poor outcomes. "If you try to rush it in an enterprise environment, which is possible, you're not going to have a good outcome," he shares. B2B founders should understand the sales timeline for their specific industry and be prepared for longer, more complex sales cycles when targeting enterprise customers. Build foundational technology that transcends AI hype: Regal's advantage came from building deep platform infrastructure before AI agents were ready. "Most of the companies that exist today, all they've ever built is this thing that interacts with the customer, the agent itself, the voice and the LLM, which is relatively trivial actually," Alex explains. By building integrations with customer data systems, decision engines, and channel management tools first, they created a more comprehensive solution that could quickly incorporate AI advances when the technology matured. Reconsider conventional marketing channels: Alex notes that traditional B2B marketing approaches are losing effectiveness: "A lot of the traditional channels that used to work just don't work or are not efficient anymore. So paid SEM, traditional sponsorships of online content, writing blog posts in some big paper... a lot of these demand gen channels are just highly ineffective." Founders should prioritize breaking through with authentic founder-led storytelling rather than relying solely on conventional demand generation tactics. The economics of AI can reverse long-standing business practices: Regal AI's solution flips conventional contact center wisdom on its head. As Alex explains, "Instead of calls being the most expensive thing you have, AI calls are the cheapest channel you have. So you lead with those calls and you do as many calls as possible because it's cheaper than any other channel." B2B founders should look for opportunities where AI fundamentally changes the cost structure of traditional business operations.   //   Sponsors: Front Lines — We help B2B tech companies launch, manage, and grow podcasts that drive demand, awareness, and thought leadership. www.FrontLines.io The Global Talent Co. — We help tech startups find, vet, hire, pay, and retain amazing marketing talent that costs 50-70% less than the US & Europe.  www.GlobalTalent.co

The episode is rich with practical analogies, clinical reasoning, and real-world examples to illustrate the limitations of conventional approaches and the strengths of the UHPC framework.Key Topics & Chapter Highlights00:00 – Introduction01:14 – Critique of Reductionism08:24 – Emergence and Complexity13:47 – Energy Flow and Gradients16:46 – Adaptation as Solution, Not Dysfunction18:19 – Integrating Tools, Rethinking Reasoning20:47 – Continuum of Health and Performance24:10 – Case Example: Knee Pain32:12 – Observation and Iteration33:53 – Systemic vs. Isolated SolutionsKey TakeawaysThe UHPC model views movement as an emergent, adaptive behavior shaped by energy flow, constraints, and systemic problem-solving-not just neural control or isolated muscle activation.Variability and adaptability are hallmarks of healthy movement; reductionist models that seek to eliminate variation can increase fragility.Practitioners should focus on expanding movement options and adaptability, using observation, questioning, and experimentation rather than rigid protocols.Structural adaptations are context-dependent solutions, not inherently dysfunctional.Effective clinical reasoning requires moving beyond static anatomical models and embracing complexity, energy dynamics, and the continuum between health and performance.Communication, curiosity, and willingness to question established paradigms are essential for practitioner growth and improved client outcomes.LEARN MOREJOIN the UHP Network to learn directly from Bill through articles, videos and courses.http://UHP.network TRAIN WITH BILLInterested in the only training program based on Bill Hartman's Model?https://www.reconu.co SUBSCRIBE for even more helpful content:YT: https://www.youtube.com/@BillHartmanPTIG: https://www.instagram.com/bill_hartman_pt/FB: https://www.facebook.com/BillHartmanPTWEB: https://billhartmanpt.com/Podcast audio:https://open.spotify.com/show/7cJM6v5S38RLroac6BQjrd?si=eca3b211dafc4202https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/reconsider-with-bill-hartman/id1662268221or download with YT Premium

Wednesday, 14 May 2025   And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Matthew 10:7   “And going, you proclaim, saying that ‘It has neared – the kingdom of the heavens'” (CG).   In the previous verse, Jesus told His twelve to specifically go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Next, He instructs them, “And going, you proclaim, saying.”   Jesus uses the same word that has been used several times already, kérussó. It signifies to proclaim or herald an announcement. HELPS Word Studies says of it, “bringing eternal accountability to all who hear it.”   Consider it! Jesus is sending His chosen twelve out among the people of Israel. He has already been conducting His ministry for some amount of time, but the harvest field is so ready for reaping that He has decided to send forth those who have followed Him and learned from Him to expand the process. What words will He ask them to proclaim? The answer is “that ‘It has neared – the kingdom of the heavens.'”   In Matthew 3:2, the first recorded words of John the Baptist were, “Reconsider! For it has neared – the kingdom of the heavens!” Likewise, in Matthew's gospel, after His baptism and temptation, the first words of Jesus' ministry to the people were, “Reconsider! For it has neared – the kingdom of the heavens!”   Now Jesus instructs these disciples to likewise tell the people that the kingdom of the heavens has neared. In each instance, there is the anticipation that a great change in the economy and focus of God's redemptive plans is set to take place.   This is just the beginning of the instruction to these men. In Luke 9, there is a complementary account of Jesus' instructions to the twelve. That is followed in Luke 10 with Jesus sending out seventy more to continue the proclamation throughout Israel.   Life application: A common question that arises concerns the terms “kingdom of the heaven(s),” and “kingdom of God.” The words are certainly used interchangeably at times. For example, Jesus says that the kingdom of God is the kingdom of the heavens in Matthew 19 –   “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.'”  Matthew 19:23, 24   In those two verses, which are given in parallelism, He is clearly indicating that they are the same thing. The term kingdom of the heaven(s) is not used in the epistles. Rather, they refer to the kingdom of God. However, Paul does say that the Lord would deliver him and preserve him for His heavenly kingdom.   As such, there is certainly overlap in the thought. At times, however, it is clear that the promised kingdom to Israel is a literal earthly kingdom. This is how the disciples understood it when asking Him about the restoration of the kingdom in Acts 1:6.   The best approach to understanding the idea of a kingdom, then, is to check the surrounding context to see what is spoken of. God is working through time and dispensations in various ways to bring man to a state of restoration.   As He does this, a kingdom is either set up or being set up that is being expressed in various ways, actual or anticipated. In Romans 14, Paul speaks of the kingdom as a reality for believers now, and yet it is something that is only so positionally, as indicated elsewhere. The actual kingdom is something anticipated for believers at this time.   As such, it is good not to get overly dogmatic about things but rather to consider that there is a positional belonging and an actual belonging that may apply in one way or another.   For us, because of faith in Christ, we can be reassured that we are accepted into the kingdom now, even if we have to await the rapture to be actually received into the marvelous blessing of the kingdom that lies ahead for us. Be assured that Christ has accepted you if you have believed. Every good promise He has made will, therefore, be realized on that day.   Lord God, despite not yet being with You in heaven, we know we are with You through faith in what You have done. Help us to remember this in our times of trial and difficulty. We have a better and surer hope ahead than anything this fallen world can provide. May You come soon for Your people so that we can forever rejoice in Your presence. Amen.
