My initial thoughts on the CBS Supergirl premier, continuing the uncertainty of existence with The Leftovers, "FUCK MODERNITY" says The Knick, and Fargo's dark and delightful whimsy.

Steven Soderbergh's apathy for the studio movie system is no secret, so it's fortunate to see him thriving on TV. The Knick stars Clive Owen as Dr. John Thackery, an innovative surgeon and struggling drug addict at New York's Knickerbocker Hospital at the turn of the 20th century. Soderbergh directed all 10 episodes of this first season, airing on Sky Atlantic in the UK this week and we can't recommend it enough.
