It was late in 2024 that most soy farmers settled on their plans for this year. And what a year 2024 had been. It was one of the most highly profitable years for soybeans ever. And for the many farmers who had switched to the "beans" a decade before, they must have felt prescient. The demand for Soy in the States had continued to gradually strengthen, as many Americans sought out the healthy, vegetarian alternative to red meat.
Content Sells: Attract, Convert & Keep Your Ideal Clients with Content Marketing That Works
If you've ever worried that “selling” means selling your soul—or your stories fall flat when it's time to make an offer—this one will get you back in alignment. In this episode your hosts, Suzi Dafnis and Michelle Falzon chat with ghostwriter and communication expert, Kendall Cherry of The Candid Collective, going deep on storytelling that actually moves and motivates buyers. We explore the sweet spot where narrative, ethics and revenue meet – so your message feels true, and still converts. You'll hear how to turn client results into persuasive case studies, why “day-in-the-life” vision casting works at every stage of the funnel, and what to post when you want qualified leads (not just likes). We also dig into boundaries and emotion – how to be specific and resonant without oversharing – and a simple format you can use today to spark replies and sales. By the end, you'll have practical guardrails and repeatable structures to tell stories that sell your products and services – with zero bro marketing. Listen to This Episode to Hear More About: “Sell without selling your soul”. The mindset shift that lets you charge, receive, and serve—without the icky aftertaste. Conversion-focused storytelling vs. “nice stories”. How to make every post point to an offer, authority, or origin—so it does a conversion job. The real reason your social proof isn't converting. Turn testimonials into “money-making case studies” by revealing the middle—your diagnosis, method, and decisions. Why safety signals beat sales tricks. Show you are who you say you are through process transparency and nuanced examples. Vision casting that sells. Use “day-in-the-life” stories (before and after) to create felt relevance without trauma-dumping. What to do when your audience loves your content but doesn't buy. Ditch the DIYer-Never-Buyer and write for the “Longtime Lurker” who converts. The surprising truth about emotion. Specific details create universal resonance; oversharing isn't required. Set healthy storytelling boundaries. Create a personal “No-Fly List” so you can be candid and professional. How to test, pace, and iterate your stories. Tell it 10 times, watch where eyes light up, and keep the beats that land. Steal this format: The Lead-Qualifying Listicle. A one-post framework to surface pains/solutions, spark replies, and quietly pre-qualify buyers. Spokesperson Rule. As founder, you're employee #1 and salesperson #1—use stories across TOFU, MOFU, and BOFU. Align or skip it. If a story doesn't connect back to your offer or bigger brand “quilt,” don't post it. For over four decades Richard Rose has been a leading innovator in the national and international natural food industry with products such as TofuRella, Cottage Tofu Salad and LeTofu. In 1994, Richard pivoted from soybean to hempseed, an older and far more nutritious protein source. He was the first food professional in hemp foods in North America, and he paved the way for those he inspired.By 2002 when the U.S. market for hempseed collapsed for years due to an ill-advised suit by a fiber group against the DEA for legalizing 98% of all hemp products, Richard retired to Amsterdam for a spell and returned to Colorado where he currently resides. There was a lot to love in today's crossword, but it had us at 25A, Ref. work with definitions for "colour" and "aluminium", OED (our favorite reference work of all time). We became even more smitten thanks to 27A, Andy Warhol's "Campbell's Soup Cans," e.g., POPART; and the kicker had to be the shoutout to one of our favorite foodstuffs, 30D, Vegan protein source, TOFU (yum!).Since it is Tuesday, we have another one of our patented, trademarked and copyrighted Triplet Tuesday™️ segments, so to see how Mike (in the hotseat tonight) fared, have a listen to today's episode.Show note imagery: The OED, further proof that the Brits don't know how to do anything by halves

In this episode of Brown and Happy, we sit down with Madhu, a South Asian mother, finance professional, and community advocate, for a deeply personal and powerful conversation about domestic violence in South Asian communities. Madhu lives in Somerset, NJ with her beautiful 9-year-old daughter and her adorable 5-year-old, four-legged son, Tofu. She is the Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Client Manager at Wealth Planning Advisory Group in Bedminster, NJ. Madhu also serves as the Board Treasurer for Manavi, a pioneering organization dedicated to ending violence against South Asian women. Madhu shares her insight and experiences, along with her work as Board Treasurer for Manavi—a New Jersey–based nonprofit that has been supporting South Asian survivors of gender-based violence since 1985. Together, we explore the cultural stigma that keeps survivors silent, the role of organizations like Manavi, and how community-based healing and justice are possible. This conversation is for anyone who wants to understand the intersection of culture, silence, survival, and strength.
