All of our chapters today lead amazingly to a single point illustrated in 2 Corinthians 1 – God offers us perfect, complete comfort. This is an incredibly timely message for us today in a world marked primarily by evil forces and immorality. Increased suffering is coming for all of us. Are you ready for it? So much of today's readings relate to where America finds itself now. From Gideon telling his people to follow the Lord, not a man, to Isaiah's powerful prophesies that at the very least we in America and around the world can relate to in the face of the rise of global communism, to Paul's final instructions to be watchful and act like men, we can find encouragement and God's leadership in these readings. Today's episode feels like a miracle to me. If you have doubts, if you wrestle with faith, this episode should be a great encouragement. God gives us the example of Jacob and Rachel, sinners that they are, and Gideon, who openly expresses his weaknesses, fears, and doubts. And He demonstrates His tender patience with us by giving Gideon so much evidence that there is no longer room for doubt. In Job, we're given a great example of humble willingness to be judged and in Isaiah we're given a clear command to trust only in the Lord. And Paul ties up our whole lesson in such a wonderful bow in 1 Corinthians 15. It's like Paul was expositing the rest of our readings for us. Can God actually use me? We see Gideon ask God this question. Why would God choose Gideon, the weakest of his family, which is the weakest of Menassah, which is a half-tribe, the weakest of Israel? In Job we see perhaps some of the answer to this question. God gives us a deeply satisfying buffet today with many different flavors to taste from. From Jesus confronting the Pharisees in Mark 2 to Jacob's envious and bickering wives and deceitful father in law in Genesis 30 to the opening act of the story of Gideon in Judges 6 to the abject suffering and loneliness of Job in Job 30 we are given a huge spectrum of life circumstances we can all relate to. And then we end with 1 Corinthians 14, advice to the local church on how to organize and run our local church services. Is it through the local church that God wants to work in our lives? In part, yes, absolutely. In the Deep Bible Podcast, we watch the Bible come alive. This is a great way to deepen your walk with the Lord and learn more about God and the Bible. Today we have some awesome threads. Jesus drops a big download of parables about the Kingdom of Heaven and God's judgment on the world, then we see God promise Abram all the land east and west of the Jordan, and in Joshua the fulfillment of that promise. We're amazed at Job's enlightening attitude towards God and at Isaiah's foretelling of actual history with Babylon. Then Paul brings it all home for us with some beautiful, practical, and convicting advice in Romans 13.  Give this podcast a chance and God will change your life. Every week we read 36 chapters of God's Word from 6 different parts of the Bible and marvel at God's consistent authorship and message to us, today. You can find us on Rumble, iTunes, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Player FM, Sticher, Podcast addict, Podbean, and more. Search "Big Lies Bigger Truth" in your podcast player. We post daily, Monday through Saturday, first thing in the morning.

The Deep Bible Podcast is a great way to learn the Bible and see how the entire Bible relates to itself, how all 40ish authors of the Bible, with God's help, all spoke with the same voice. Join me in seeking answers to life's biggest questions in God's Word.  Today, Jesus calls us to be doers - not just hearers - of the Word. We see really painful reminders of the wrath of God that our sin - our not-doing - deserves in Genesis 7 and Joshua 7. In Job 7 we relate to suffering. Then in Isaiah 7 God makes a promise about Jesus, that God is with us. And in Romans 7 God mercifully gives us a careful reasoning on how we can cope with not doing the things we want and doing the things we don't want, and how God can actually change our desires.  Today's chapters: Matthew 7 Genesis 7 Joshua 7 Job 7 Isaiah 7 Romans 7 You can find us throughout the podcast world (except itunes, but we're working on that) and on rumble.com/biggertruth. Today we read p1 of the greatest speech in human history, the Sermon on the Mount. Then as we wrestle with Jesus' command to be perfect as God is perfect, we learn about God preparing to cleanse sin from the world through the flood in Genesis 5 and God forgiving Israel and letting their sins in the wilderness be rolled over through the blood of their circumcision in Joshua 5. In Job 5 we hear Eliphaz insist that Job's suffering is due to his sin and he should rejoice because if he just 'fesses up God will give him everything he wants. In Isaiah 5 we learn more about the sins in the world that grieve God to the point of threatening complete destruction. Then we land in Romans 5, where we receive some really Good News.  Today's chapters: Matthew 5 Genesis 5 Joshua 5 Job 5 Isaiah 5 Romans 5 This podcast is available Monday-Saturday at 3am.
