Chrissy is an activist, survivor, academic, and proud single mum. Chrissy uses her lived experience of domestic abuse and grooming to raise awareness of issues relating to abuse of position of trust for young people in 16-19 education. Chrissy believes the law currently fails young people from abuse of power by those entrusted with their care. Mark O'Sullivan is a writer, actor, comedian, broadcaster and campaigner, best known for his C4 sitcom ‘Lee and Dean' which he wrote and starred in. He created ITV drama Tell Me Everything which premiered its second season this year. His Channel 4 documentary ‘My Sexual Abuse: The Sitcom' broadcast in May this year to rave reviews. Joining Chris and Beverley is special guest Elaine Wilkins, who is a published author and multi-Award winning founder of ‘The Chrysalis Effect' a Trauma Informed Coaching organization that delivers the first ever: Trauma-informed Recovery Pathway' for those suffering with multiple symptoms including ME, CFS, fibromyalgia and Long Covid post viral fatigue. Her own 6 year illness left her bedbound with no treatment plan. Her subsequent recovery from chronic fatigue syndrome was the catalyst to her 15 year journey to transform the attitude, approach and accessibility of recovery from fatigue related illnesses. Dino Nocivelli is a leading lawyer in the field of child sexual abuse cases and joins Chris and Beverley in this episode. He is a member of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers and an ambassador for the Survivors Trust and Kyniska. In addition he provided evidence to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) and has been asked to comment extensively upon the Inquiry by many national newspapers and other media outlets. Appearing in media publications providing his expert opinion and commentary, including the BBC News and Radio, ITV, LBC Radio, and some national and local newspapers including articles for the Guardian and the Times. Dino continues to provide his expert opinion to many international media outlets, and regularly provides external training sessions on child abuse law and conducts numerous charity talks every year. Dino continues to campaign to change the law on numerous matters, including: mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse offences, including sport coaches, and activities such as acting, ballet and wrestling. Yehudis grew up in London as part of the Charedi (Ultra-orthodox) Jewish community. When she disclosed her experiences of sexual abuse by a family friend, she and her family were punished and faced ostracisation. In 2011, Yehudis set up a charity supporting other Jewish victims of sexual abuse across the UK, providing them with information that was otherwise inaccessible to them. Through her work in the sector, she developed a working group to establish the Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week, the first of its kind in the UK. The week focuses on amplifying the voices of those with lived experiences and prompting resources, services, and campaigns about sexual abuse and sexual violence. #ItsNotOk Yehudis chaired the Met Police Independent Advisory Group for Rape & Serious Sexual Offences, ensuring victims from all cultures and communities are represented in policing and referral pathways were established for victims that engaged in the criminal justice system. Sibling Abuse is a conversation that does not take place easily and when it is Sibling Sexual Abuse it's a Big Taboo. Using her own Lived Experience, Della campaigns to ensure convicted sex offenders cannot slip through the net changing their name and giving themselves new identities. She was abused at 6years old by a known perpetrator (who went on to change his name 5 times). As an ambassador for the Safeguarding Alliance, an author and avid campaigner, she shares with Chris and Beverley, about Dellas Law, and how implementing this will prevent known sex offenders, from wiping clean their offending past and to ensure DBS checks are not mis-informed.
