The reality of humanity is that in many conversations, we don't feel free to be completely truthful, maybe it's because we fear that by doing so, would attract a measure of criticism or allow people to judge based on the information divulged. If a person doesn't believe as you do, does this make them wrong and you right? I say no. This is a multifaceted world we live in. The intent of your heart matters more to me, than what you believe. I know how to listen, hear, learn, and dump what doesn't serve me. Who am I to deem you wrong in your belief? And the catch 22 is, this can be flipped around like everything else is often done. The world is filled with duality. Almost everything has an opposite, yet almost every thing is connected. We see what we see, but do we always understand what we are looking at? Do we even question it. No we simply accept what we are told… and because it's been told multiple times, despite the variations in the tale it's self, we believe it. But who decides ultimately who's right and who's wrong? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thesafespace72/message

There is no one more innocent than a newborn baby. This is the only time in their life, where they are blameless, pure, most protected and emotional and mentally stable. Unless, trauma is experience by the mother during the fetal incubation period. If this happens, that trauma can potentially be felt by the unborn child, therefore resulting in trauma being induced before birth. Other thank these mentioned factors, this new born has it made... that is until life begins at birth, and the chance for potentially life changing trauma arises. Trauma is based on life's circumstances, the parents and other people they may encounter in their life. Not to mention, environment, and life's events outside the womb. Here's what I have found, we all have suffered, dealt with or dealing with some form of trauma or trauma response (Triggers). Many times trauma can go unnoticed, and even unidentified and even ignored. Only to have that same trauma to show up once it's triggered. Trauma can have a negative effects on the body, your mental health, emotional health and your social wellbeing. Trauma can potentially affect your sleep patterns, the memory, self-esteem, and may even cause learning disabilities. If your or someone you know or think, they may be dealing with or suffering from any type of mental/emotional issues, please seek professional help. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thesafespace72/message
In this episode Tee and I discuss how our creative attributes played a part in our healing process. For both Tee and I, we are lovers of music, art, and poetry, hence why we are friends. Ironically, music was a keep component in our healing journey. I know you've heard the saying, "Music soothes the savage beast" right? Well, this is partly because of the frequency the music is in. Music has the ability to not only sooth, but aid in healing as well. Music tuned to 432 Hz is softer and brighter and is said to be easiest on the ears and great for meditation. (repetionsfitness.com) Creativity aids in self discovery or self rediscovery, because it cause you to channel your energies into creating something new or different or it may spark an interest in something you never thought about before. This was another great show that I know you will enjoy. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thesafespace72/message

Many of us naturally internalize emotional pain or trauma we feel others may not understand or misunderstand all together. We tend to fail at expressing our true feelings, we fail at setting boundaries, and we simply continue on with life as though we're okay. But, it's okay to not be okay, your feelings are valid, and your experiences that hurt you don't have to be with you forever nor do they get to define who you are or how you should feel. In continuation of the previous episode, Surviving the Pain Body, we now must began to address the pain and start to release it. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thesafespace72/message

In this episode, I talk about being a human trash can, meaning, stop allowing people to throw up all of their problems on you, stop allow people to transfer their negative energy to you. We all need someone to talk to, but there comes a time, when boundaries have to be put in place. Have you ever had that one friend, who is always going through, or every time you talk to them, they're being negative or always possessing a bad VIBE. These type of people tend to pull us down, or cause our internal vibration or our VIBE, to lower. I believe that we are responsible for our own happiness, our own joy. These components are not found in people places or things, but within ourselves. Take a listen and leave a comment of your take on this particular topic. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thesafespace72/message

As Polonius, chief minister said to his son Laertes, in one of the most memorable plays written by the great Shakespear, "To Thine Own Self Be True". The first meaning is that someone can better judge himself if he has done what he should or could have done. The second meaning is that one must be honest in his ways and relations. The third meaning is that one must always do the right thing. In this episode it all about getting to know yourself! being honest about yourself, and changing yourself!! We are a society that loves to fix everybody else, comment on everybody else, talk about everybody else, but I ask you wonderful people!! "What about you" ? What's broken within you, what's off about you? What could you stand to change about you? I go into a brief detail about getting to know yourself, being true to your self, and fixing yourself, because only you can do the real work. You can see a therapist, a psychologist, a spiritual leader, a Guru or who ever! But less you take a deep inward look and a long visit with you, it's all meaningless. i hope that you can take away from this episode a few things to help you or someone else, because that's what really matters to me. make sure to follow me on Instagram at prettygirlmedia8372 and on Twitter Deon8372 okay! After experiencing my own battle with severe clinical anxiety and depression I decided to use my platform to advocate for those who suffer daily in silence with their mental health, emotional health and their spiritual health. The next few episodes are intended to educate and shed some much needed light on this often unrecognizable disorder in the hopes of helping others recover and heal as well as cope as the battle continues. The Coronavirus also know as Covid-19, is changing all of our lives in some way or another, but one particular way of life I've seen it change and have a great impact on, is the church. The church is the key essential and spiritual element for many of us and a way of life and spiritual connectivity for millions all over the world, especially the American people, and even more so, with the African Americans. The Church is where you go to meet God along with our fellow Sisters and brothers in Christ, to hear the preached word as a part of our spiritual growth and closeness to God, to learn about God and his plan for our lives. Covid-19 has now changed the way we have church, going from in person church services to now virtual church service, and this has a lot of church attendees pretty upset. According to the Center For Family Justice, 1 in 4 females and 1 out of 6 males are sexually assaulted in their life time. Yet, only 230 out of every 1,000 assaults are ever reported to the police. In this episode, I had the pleasure of having a very intimate conversation with a brother by the name of Mr. Kerry Kay, an old neighborhood friend, that came up with me from back in the day. What Kerry shared with me in this interview, I never would have or could have imagined him having gone through, or anybody matter of fact, after all he was a "BOY", who seemed happy. What Kerry shares in the episode was of his own free will and his own act of transparency. Kerry Ray was born in Dallas Texas, of June 1978 to his parents, James and Rita Ray in this household were three children with Kerry being the middle child. At the young age of 9-10 years old, Kerry Ray, was molested by a friend of the family... multiple times, which turned Kerry Ray, a once happy jolly child, filled with his parents love and joy.... toward a life of destructive and out of control behavior because of what took place in his childhood. After entering middle school Kerry began to indulge in controlled substances off and on, which also played a big part in his path to disfunction, which led to jails and institutions. By Kerry's mid-30s, it was during his time in a correctional facility, he was introduced to an onsite group therapy group. It was there he divulged for the first time the secrets of molestation from his childhood, that helped him to finally begin to break through the shell of pain that had encased himself in for so long. Today, Kerry is a single father of five children and three grandchildren, and in a fight for his life, peace and sound mind. Kerry is a recovering addict also, having tried various kinds drugs, having been a former gang member, a womenizer and mastermind of manipulation. Who today is now, working to develop a spiritual relationship with God as he likes to called him, Allah. For it is through him Kerry has seen and reached peace, humbleness and happiness, This is the story of Kerry Ray. About a month or so ago, I started doing Facebook Lives for fun and as a way to connect with people. I thought it would be cool to do a recorded podcast with my Facebook Followers as my participating audience. In this episode, we're discussing Lizzo's Laker game twerk that sent the internet and blogs a blaze and should there be privacy in a marriage. If I must say, this was fun, it was different and I hope you enjoy it. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/cafeconversations/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cafeconversations/support
