What are some of the things you heard about Metabolism? We want to show you that Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is a little bit of a better marker to help you on your health and fitness journey Some references for you Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories you burn as your body performs basic (basal) life-sustaining function. Mifflin-St Jeor Equation: For men: BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5 For women: BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161 Revised Harris-Benedict Equation: For men: BMR = 13.397W + 4.799H - 5.677A + 88.362 For women: BMR = 9.247W + 3.098H - 4.330A + 447.593 Katch-McArdle Formula: BMR = 370 + 21.6(1 - F)W But we think that the best way for you to truly measure your BMR is to find somewhere near you that will test if for you with a tube and a computer measuring your BMR or your RMR There are places and services such as Body Spec Here is a video to explain it and show you what it looks like in more of a clinical setting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAiiXhyoAnc
