1.) Unprocessed raw food is usually the best. Because it lifts up your body and spirit. If you don't believe that, just eat only for one day raw:  fruits, salad or vegetables. Don't eat any seeds, kernels. You will recognize how light your body feels and meditation is so much better. The feelings will be more intense, and the spiritual energy is going natural upwards.Besides that, fermented vegetables should eat everybody.  Because we need Probiotic in our food. We don't need so much protein, - Baby milk has only 1.5% protein and in Tomatoes are 3% protein, in Bananas are more than 10% protein. Animal proteins should be avoided. But not everybody can eat only raw, because everybody is different.   2.) The next best is vegetarian food without industrially processed food, cheese, eggs. How to become a vegan? You have enough time to become better and better. Never set yourself under pressure with a better diet if you don't have to. Fighting for a healthier lifestyle is creating so much tension inside of your body/mind that the change will harm more than to benefit your body.Change in Baby-steps and accept your failures. Look for a group with the same goals. What is the worst food?1.) White sugar and all kind of artificial sugar. White Sugar is a nightmare for the body, it is even worse than smoking, and promotes cancer and diabetes. Instead, sweeten your dishes with honey, brown sugar, coconut sugar, Xylitol or maple-syrup. 2.) Avoid preservatives and pesticides; they are at most in meat and fish products.3.) Alcohol, like wine, beer. With liquor, you lose too much energy; you can't focus …. 4.) White flour is garbage!! - No Nutrition! White flour keeps your energy in your digestion system. The body is dealing with white flour like with white sugar. It promotes diabetes.5.) Margarine and industrially processed oil are so worse; they clog the veins, make you fat and promote diabetes.  6.) All kind of fried food.7.) Meat, fish.8.) Dairy products. Asian people (not like Indo) can't digest cow milk, because they don't have the genes to digest cow milk. Only Kefir or Yogurt can be eaten from people who are used on cow milk. Through the Probiotic in Kefir and Yogurt, the animal protein doesn't harm anymore. My Video: What food is spiritual acceptable?   https://youtu.be/GWWIKRKOIXMMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/What-food-is-spiritual-acceptable.mp3

Episode Description: In this episode of Healing Starts with the Heart, grief specialist Sharon Brubaker sheds light on the exhausting and relentless nature of grief. She challenges the common advice to “give it time” and explains why grief pain demands to be felt. Through personal stories and deep insights, Sharon provides listeners with practical steps to lean into their grief and begin processing it in a healthy way. Key Points Discussed: Why Grief Feels Exhausting Grief takes every bit of your energy, leaving you physically and emotionally drained. Staying busy and distracted may seem like a solution, but it doesn't make the pain go away. The exhaustion of grief is real—it's as if all your nerve endings are exposed, making even small tasks feel overwhelming. The Myth of “Time Heals All” Many are told to just “give it time,” but time alone does not heal grief. Pain has a purpose—it demands to be felt and processed before true healing can begin. Avoiding grief only causes it to show up unexpectedly, in ways we don't anticipate. The Chatter of Grief Grief creates an ongoing mental dialogue, much like background noise that never stops. Unprocessed grief thoughts turn into overwhelming emotions that take over daily life. The only way to quiet the chatter is to acknowledge and process the emotions tied to it. Our Culture Teaches Us to Push Through Society conditions us to suppress grief, offering minimal time to grieve before returning to “normal.” We have been led to believe that grief has an expiration date, but real healing comes from actively tending to our pain. A Simple Practice for Processing Grief Instead of pushing grief away, pause and acknowledge its presence. Identify the emotion you're feeling—sadness, loneliness, anger—and name it. Lean into the emotion rather than resisting it, allowing it to pass through you. This intentional awareness helps relieve the weight of grief over time. Journal Questions for Reflection: Have you been trying to stay busy to avoid your grief? How has that affected you? What are some ways your grief is showing up unexpectedly in your life? When was the last time you truly allowed yourself to sit with your emotions? How did it feel? What would it look like for you to practice awareness and acknowledgment of your grief today? Conclusion: Grief is not something to “get over”—it is something to tend to with care. Sharon encourages listeners to challenge societal norms, embrace their grief, and practice awareness. By learning to process grief instead of suppressing it, healing becomes possible. Resources and Support: Processing the Pain of Grief Program – Learn the step-by-step approach to healing. Learning to work with this energy rather than suppress it leads to better performance and overall well-being. Unprocessed Emotions Drain Energy: When emotions aren't acknowledged or expressed, they create internal energy blocks that weigh you down and can even manifest as physical pain. Your Emotional State Affects Your Golf Game: Suppressed frustration, anger, or anxiety doesn't just disappear—it shows up in your swing, decision-making, and overall performance on the course. Energy is Neither Good nor Bad—It's How You React That Matters: Emotions themselves are neutral. Your response to them determines whether they fuel your success or hold you back. Awareness is the First Step Toward Mastery: Developing an emotional vocabulary, recognizing how emotions feel in your body, and understanding your triggers help you gain control over your energy. Slowing Down is the Shortcut to Emotional Mastery: Practicing silence, reflection, and intentional awareness allows you to regulate emotions, making you more resilient and present under pressure. Mastering Emotional Energy Leads to Peak Performance: When you control your energy, you control your mind. And when you control your mind, you control your ability to execute in golf, business, and life. Key Quotes: “Emotions are simply energy in motion. The way you manage that energy determines your success.” “If you feel stuck in your game, in your progress, or in life, chances are you're emotionally constipated.” “Your thoughts begin it, your emotions amplify it, and your actions create momentum. Your results are simply an expression of that emotional energy.” “Unprocessed emotions don't just disappear. They show up in your body as tension, pain, or even chronic injury.” “When emotions remain unmanaged or repressed, they create energy blocks that drain you physically and mentally.” “Golf isn't just a technical game—it's an emotional and energetic one. You need to master your emotions to master your game.” “Slowing down, reflecting, and listening to your emotions gives you the power to transform them into fuel for growth.” Time Stamps: 00:00: Introduction to Emotional Constipation 03:03: Understanding Emotions and Energy 06:06: The Role of Energy in Transformation 08:57: Identifying and Managing Emotions 12:02: The Science of Energy and Emotions 14:57: Vibrational Frequencies and Emotional States 18:09: The Connection Between Mind and Body 21:02: Awareness and Emotional Mastery 23:46: The Impact of Repressed Emotions 26:45: Practical Steps for Emotional Awareness 30:08: The Impermanence of Emotions 32:52: Mastering Your Energy for Life 35:56: Conclusion and Reflection

The Hidden Cost of Unprocessed Grief Episode Description: In this episode of Healing Starts with the Heart, grief specialist Sharon Brubaker delves into the often-overlooked process of truly understanding and working through grief. She challenges the misconceptions around "moving on" and highlights the importance of acknowledging and processing pain as essential steps toward healing. Through personal experiences and expert insights, Sharon shares a powerful approach to grief that transforms pain into progress. Key Points Discussed: Why Grief Feels Endless Many people struggle with lingering grief for years because they were never taught how to process it properly. Healing doesn't mean forgetting—it means learning to carry grief in a healthy way. Ignoring pain only intensifies it, making healing feel impossible. Acknowledging the Pain as a First Step The first step to healing is recognizing and allowing yourself to feel the pain of grief. Suppressing grief leads to emotional wounds that can fester, much like an untreated physical injury. Saying "This hurts" and acknowledging grief's presence is a powerful act of self-compassion. The Role of Processing Grief Healing requires intentional work—grief is not something you simply "get over." Before true emotional healing can begin, one must first learn how to grieve. Processing grief involves daily, small steps rather than a single breakthrough moment. Understanding the Two-Part Healing Approach Processing the Pain of Grief: Identifying and working through the pain step by step. The Courage to Grieve: Once pain has been processed, this stage allows for deeper grief work and transformation. Healing is not about erasing pain but about learning to tend to it properly. Journal Questions for Reflection: Have you been avoiding your grief, and if so, in what ways? How does unprocessed pain show up in your life? What small steps can you take today to begin acknowledging and tending to your grief? How can you reframe your grief as a process rather than something to "get over"? Conclusion: Grief is not an enemy—it is a signal that healing needs to take place. Sharon encourages listeners to take the first step by acknowledging their pain and starting the process of working through it. With the right tools and mindset, grief can become a pathway to resilience and growth rather than an overwhelming burden. In this episode, I sit down to have an open and honest conversation about the powerful role that emotions play in our lives, especially when it comes to our relationship with alcohol and other coping mechanisms. I share my own personal experiences with getting triggered, experiencing "backdraft" when opening up to my emotions, and the societal pressures that can make it so difficult to be authentic. I dive into the importance of self-compassion, building emotional safety, and learning to sit with and process our feelings, rather than trying to numb or escape them. This is a vulnerable discussion about the deeper work required to truly heal our relationship with alcohol and live more fulfilling, connected lives.Key Takeaways: Emotions arise 7 seconds before our thinking brain kicks in, often based on subconscious interpretations from our past experiences and childhood. Many of us have learned to suppress or numb our emotions, leading to a "backdraft" effect when we finally open up and allow ourselves to feel. Society often conditions us to behave in certain "acceptable" ways, making it risky and uncomfortable to be our authentic selves. Unprocessed emotions and unmet needs from childhood can be a major driver behind unhealthy coping mechanisms like alcohol use. Building emotional safety, self-compassion, and the ability to sit with and work through difficult feelings is crucial for healing. Reconnecting to our true selves, rather than trying to fit an idealised societal mold, is a lifelong journey of courage and self-discovery. Why Does Grief Bring Back Old Pain? Episode Description: In this episode of Healing Starts with the Heart, grief specialist Sharon Brubaker delves into the concept of cumulative grief, explaining how past unresolved losses often resurface during new grieving experiences. Sharon shares personal stories, psychological insights, and actionable tools to help listeners understand and navigate the layered emotions of cumulative grief, making space for healing and growth. Key Points Discussed: What Is Cumulative Grief? Cumulative grief refers to the accumulation of past unresolved losses that resurface during new grief experiences. These memories might stem from losses like childhood experiences, pet deaths, or moments of neglect that were never acknowledged as grief at the time. Examples of Cumulative Grief: Childhood losses such as being bullied, losing a pet, or experiencing a death that wasn't openly discussed. Life events like divorce or career setbacks that resurface when facing a new loss. Sharon shares how unresolved grief can intensify the pain of current losses, making it harder to process and heal. Why Cumulative Grief Happens: The brain and heart remember past grief experiences through sensory triggers like smells, songs, or locations. Unprocessed emotions are stored in the body, resurfacing during stressful events like a current loss. Comparing Old and New Losses: Sharon explains how it's natural to compare current grief to past experiences. While some comparisons can be helpful (e.g., identifying coping skills that worked), others, like judging one loss as "worse," can hinder healing. Personal Stories of Cumulative Grief: Sharon shares examples from her work with clients, such as a woman grieving her father's death who uncovered unresolved emotions from her divorce. She reflects on how her own childhood coping mechanisms influenced how she handled grief later in life. The Role of "What-If" Thinking: Sharon discusses counterfactual thinking—reflecting on how things could have been different. While it's a natural response, focusing on "what-ifs" can distract from addressing current grief. The Silver Lining in Cumulative Grief: Past grief experiences can remind us of our resilience and coping skills. By reflecting on how we've overcome challenges before, we can find hope and strength in the present. Journal Questions for Reflection: What is one memory from a past loss that has resurfaced during your current grief? Have you compared your current grief to a previous experience? What have you learned? Are there any "what-if" thoughts you've been holding onto? How do they affect your grieving process? What coping strategies or support systems from past losses might help you now? Conclusion: Cumulative grief is a natural part of the grieving process, allowing past emotions to come to the surface for healing. Sharon encourages listeners to embrace these memories, use them as a source of strength, and reflect on their grief through journaling and support systems. Remember, every loss brings an opportunity for growth and deeper emotional understanding. In this episode, Clare once again takes a look at a practical aspect of moving abroad, which an awful lot of people fail to pay enough attention to. She explains why what you take with you and how you get it there is very important. We all have things that we would struggle to live without. For some it is a treasured possession that has great sentimental value and for others it is a person or pet. Still, others have activities and hobbies that make a huge difference when it comes to physical, emotional or mental wellbeing. Clare has moved abroad multiple times, so the advice and strategies she provides to tackle the task of packing and leaving some things behind really do work. KEY TAKEAWAYS We all have things we would struggle to live without. Finding a way to take them with you or leave them behind on your terms can play a big role in how well you settle in a new country. If an item is particularly precious to you, pack it in a way that ensures it won´t be broken and can easily be accessed upon your arrival. If you want to continue to pursue a hobby or activity while you are living abroad, work out how you are going to do that before you actually move. Sometimes continuing to pursue your interests won´t be possible. In that case, consider what you might be able to do instead. Before you start to pack, prepare yourself emotionally. Organising everything and physically packing will have an impact on you. Getting started can be tough, Clare explains how to overcome this hesitancy. Start in one room, go through each item and ask yourself do I want to take this item? Do I need to take this item? And make two lists. Leaving someone who is very precious to you is hard. Clare shares several things you can do to make it more bearable. BEST MOMENTS “What is the one thing that you absolutely do not want to be without? Reflect on that and have that as your starting point.” “If a hobby is not realistic, consider what you could do in its place that would bring about the same happy vibes.” “Unprocessed emotions will follow us anywhere.” “Surrender to expertise.” “I wasn't needing the things. I needed that emotional journey of having the time to revisit and evoke memories.” EPISODE RESOURCES ABOUT THE HOST: Clare Kay is a seasoned global traveller and professional with a rich background in international sales, customer service, and personal development. In this introspective episode titled “2024 Wrap-Up Manifesto, Alice in Wonderland, and How My Delusional Thinking Led to the Greatest Breakthroughs of the Year,” Karen takes us down the rabbit hole of self-discovery and transformation. Through tales of emotional unblocking, nervous system recalibration, and career evolution, she unpacks the magic of embracing discomfort, navigating authenticity, and trusting life's divine timing. From Human Design to subconscious reprogramming, Karen's journey shows how “delusional” belief in unseen possibilities can spark real breakthroughs and a year of profound growth. Rediscovering What You Truly Want (00:00–01:00) Karen shares how she was stuck, questioning her life and career, until she finally asked herself: What do I truly want? Instead of settling for “just a paycheck,” she redefined success and took bold steps toward creating a career and life she loves. Takeaway: Give yourself permission to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what excites you. Don't settle—clarity is where transformation starts. It's Never Too Late to Start Over (05:00–06:00) While many peers were winding down their careers, Karen was ramping up. She reminds us that everyone's timeline is different. Takeaway: Stop comparing your journey to others. Your timing is yours—honor it. Your Body Knows the Truth (20:00–22:00) Karen learned to listen to her nervous system—words like “I should,” “I better,” and “I have to” were signs she was in fight-or-flight mode. Takeaway: When those phrases creep in, ask yourself: Why do I feel this way? Then prioritize rest, breathing, or simply doing less. Trapped Emotions Manifest Physically (24:00–25:00) Unprocessed emotions build up, often showing as tension, pain, or anxiety. Karen realized her teeth grinding and constant high energy weren't “normal” but signals from her body to slow down. Takeaway: Check in with your body—tight jaws, clenched fists, or even chronic aches might be your emotions asking for attention. Stop Choosing “Comfortable Misery” (33:00–34:00) Karen explains how we often cling to what's familiar—even if it's unfulfilling—because it feels safer than risking the unknown. Takeaway: Ask yourself: Am I holding onto something because it's familiar, or because it's truly good for me? Choose the unfamiliar if it aligns with your values and dreams. The Relationship Between Love and Money (37:00–39:00) Karen explores the link between scarcity in money and love, noting that how we show up in one area often mirrors the other. Takeaway: Reflect on where you might be accepting less than you deserve—whether in relationships or finances. Start setting higher standards in both. Human Design as a Blueprint for Self-Understanding (45:00–47:00) Discovering Human Design was life-changing for Karen. It helped her understand her energy (as a Generator) and gave her tools to align with her purpose. Takeaway: Explore your Human Design. It's a unique roadmap to your authentic self—helping you focus on what truly lights you up. Deconditioning and Letting Go (51:00–52:00) Karen talks about the power of shedding subconscious beliefs that keep us small. By letting go, she created space for authenticity and abundance. Takeaway: Ask: What beliefs are holding me back? Then actively challenge and rewrite those narratives. Make Space for What's Next (50:00–51:00) Clearing out her physical and mental clutter helped Karen open up to new opportunities and clarity. Takeaway: Start small—organize your closet, clean a drawer, or tackle one lingering task. Clearing space in your environment often clears your mind too. Trust the Bigger Plan (44:00–46:00) Karen leaned into her faith, trusting that every challenge and insight was divinely ordered. This trust gave her peace and clarity. Takeaway: Trust that where you are is exactly where you're meant to be. Look for lessons in the pauses and embrace the process.   Final Thoughts from Karen Karen's journey is a reminder that life is about evolution, not perfection. It's okay to pivot, to dig deeper, and to dream of what's possible—even when it feels uncertain. Her message is simple: trust yourself, listen to your body, and don't be afraid to go all in on the life you deserve. What resonates most with you from Karen's reflections? Let it inspire your next step! Take the First Step Toward Your Best Year Yet If Karen's journey resonates with you and you're ready to leave “comfortable misery” behind, let 2025 be the year you align fully with your purpose and potential. Understanding your Human Design chart is a powerful way to jumpstart this transformation. It's not about changing who you are—it's about uncovering who you've always been and learning to live authentically, with clarity and confidence. Karen offers personalized Human Design consultations to help you: ✨ Discover your unique blueprint for life and success. ✨ Uncover subconscious patterns holding you back. ✨ Gain tools to make aligned decisions for more peace, joy, and abundance. Left untreated or unprocessed the trauma can refer to events, relationships or emotions that have not been fully dealt with. Change can be intimidating, especially when it involves giving up something you love, like sugar. But what if you could enjoy delicious alternatives without feeling deprived? Today's guest is here to show us just how easy and satisfying it can be.   Chef AJ, a culinary instructor, author, and motivational speaker, is known for her no-nonsense approach to transforming lives through nutrient-dense recipes. On her YouTube show, Chef AJ Live, she offers expert interviews and live cooking demos that educate and inspire.   Her best-selling books, "Unprocessed" and "The Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss," are must-reads for anyone embracing a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle. In her latest book, "Chef AJ's Sweet Indulgence: Guilt-Free Treats Sweetened Naturally with Fruit," she shares dessert recipes free from gluten, sugar, added salt, and oil, proving that healthy eating can delight your taste buds.   Her practical advice and vibrant personality have empowered countless people to take control of their health. So stay tuned as we explore her new book and discover the sweet side of healthy living!   “Fruit is to our natural diet throughout human history. It's a whole food. It's found in nature. It has water, fiber, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, antioxidants, micronutrients. Sugar, whether it's white sugar, brown sugar, cane sugar. These are not whole foods found in nature. So all the fiber, all the nutrients have been stripped, and they really have few to no phytochemicals, antioxidants, and micronutrients. So there's a big difference because one of the things people have to understand is that fiber is only found in plants. It's not found in animal products, and it's not found in processed foods unless it's been added back in. And fiber is the reason that many people that adopt a vegan or whole food plant-exclusive diet can eat what we call ad libitum – as much as we want, as often as we want, whenever we want until comfortably full. Because fiber is what puts the brakes on overeating. And sugar has no fiber but fruit does.”  - Chef AJ   What we discuss in this episode: - Chef AJ's childhood and adult relationship with sweets. - What makes Chef AJ's sweets delicious and healthy? - Fruit-sweetened desserts vs. processed sweetener desserts. - How fiber is integral to prevent overeating. - Retraining your palate. - The link between calorie concentration and dopamine release. - Chef AJ's sweetness scale explained. - How Chef AJ keeps her desserts moist without using oil. - Chef AJ's preferred fruits for naturally sweetening recipes.  - Her favorite recipes and kitchen gadgets.   Resources: - If you purchase Sweet Indulgence by 8/31/24, you'll receive a video of every recipe in the book! - https://sweetindulgence.chefaj.com/ - Website: Chef AJ - https://chefaj.com/ - YouTube: CHEF AJ - YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/c/CHEFAJ - Instagram: Chef AJ (@therealchefaj) • Instagram photos and videos - https://www.instagram.com/therealchefaj/?hl=en - Facebook: Chef AJ - https://www.facebook.com/chef.aj1/ - Episode 17: Chef AJ Shares How She Lost 50 Lbs and Food Addiction - https://switch4good.org/chef-aj-shares-how-she-lost-50-lbs-and-food-addiction/   ★☆★ Help us remove dairy from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans! ★☆★ https://switch4good.org/dietary-guidelines-for-americans-2025/ ★☆★ Click the link below to support the ADD SOY Act! ★☆★ https://switch4good.org/add-soy-act/ ★☆★ Share the website and get your resources here ★☆★ https://kidsandmilk.org/ ★☆★ Send us a voice message and ask a question. Welcome to the final episode of our month-long series on emotions. Over the past few episodes, I've explored various aspects of emotional liberation, including Joy and Sadness, Anger and Shame, and Fear and Courage. Today, we're bringing it all together with a focus on Emotional Integration. Integration has been my word of the year, and with this episode, I want to help you integrate positive changes in how you manage your emotions. Previous Episodes in this Series: Emotional Liberation Introduction Joy and Sadness Anger and Shame Courage and Fear What is Emotional Liberation? Emotional liberation involves freeing oneself from the constraints of unprocessed emotions, which helps cultivate emotional resilience. This process helps you live a fuller, more authentic life by allowing a fuller expression of yourself. Unprocessed emotions often get stored in our bodies and build up over time, affecting our physical health. By managing emotions as they arise, we can significantly improve our overall well-being. Daily Practice Benefits: Directs your brain to where you want to go. Helps with emotional regulation. Increases self-awareness and invites more self-compassion. Transforms the inner critic into a more compassionate voice. Strengthens relationships with yourself and others. Enhances communication with yourself and those around you. Integration Techniques for Joy and Sadness: Daily Gratitude: Intentionally practice daily gratitude to enhance your sense of joy. Familiarity with Sadness: Get familiar with the feeling of sadness and understand how it manifests in your body. Emotional Check-Ins: Conduct emotional check-ins multiple times a day. Creative Expression: Engage in creative activities to express your emotions. Integration Techniques for Anger and Shame: Physical Activity: Engage in physical activity and movement to process anger. Rage on the Page: Write out your anger. Scream into a Pillow: Exhale loudly or scream into a pillow to release anger. Breathing Techniques: Use your breath to calm your triggers. Self-Compassion Break: Give yourself a break and treat yourself with compassion. Validate Your Feelings: Acknowledge and validate how you are feeling. Kindness to Self: Do something kind for yourself. Mantras: Use mantras and thoughts to help stop the shame spiral. Talk About It: Find someone to talk to about your shame. Integration Techniques for Courage and Fear: Fear Ladder: Work through the fear ladder (covered in episode on Courage and Fear). Start Small: Begin with small acts of courage. Courage Journaling: Journal about times when you have demonstrated courage and review these entries when you need a boost of courage. Feel the Fear: Allow yourself to feel fear as it arises to reduce anxiety. Thank you for joining me on this journey of emotional liberation and integration. Implementing these practices and techniques can cultivate a deeper sense of well-being and emotional resilience. Remember, integrating your emotions is an ongoing process, and each step you take brings you closer to a more authentic and fulfilling life. The consumption of red meat, specifically the distinction between unprocessed and processed varieties, has been a subject of considerable debate in nutritional science and public health. There is a fair amount of confusion and lack of clarity surrounding this issue. While the harmful effects of processed meat are well-documented and less controversial, the evidence concerning unprocessed red meat is less consistent. This inconsistency often leads to a gray area in scientific discussions and public perception. In examining unprocessed red meat, we encounter a spectrum of claims, including minimal evidence of harm, context of overall diet and mechanistic concerns. Epidemiological evidence shows varied health outcomes related to red meat consumption across different populations. These variations underline the importance of defining and measuring “high” and “low” intake levels accurately in research. The challenges in nutrition research, including methodological flaws in meta-analyses and the rapid dissemination of simplified study results, can impact public health recommendations. Misinterpretations can arise from comparisons within narrow intake ranges or from studies failing to specify absolute intake levels. This podcast episode's goal is to clarify existing evidence, acknowledge areas needing further research, and explore why this topic is significant in the broader context of nutrition science, aiming to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge needed to make nuanced and effective dietary recommendations. Welcome to another episode of Mindfully Moody! In this episode, we're digging into how unprocessed emotions and feelings STAY in our body and energy field and can then morph into physical pain, injury, and more. We  reveal the spiritual and emotional symbols behind the aches and pains we carry in our bodies, shedding light on the balance between esoteric interpretations and the tangible elements of health. So many of us are caught in a relentless cycle of suppressing emotions with the next quick fix, whether it be food, alcohol, substances, gossip, activities that are misaligned with you, etc. This is completely normalized in our society and we have both experienced this many times in our lives. There are so many nuances that come with honoring our emotions, understanding that acknowledgment is the first step towards healing and preventing our pains from becoming unwelcome tenants in our being. This episode isn't just about realization; it's about taking action towards emotional liberation. Exploring somatic practices from breathwork ceremonies to the grounding poses of yoga, we discuss how these modalities serve as conduits for connecting with our inner selves and fostering the release of unprocessed and pent-up emotions. It takes resilience to confront and process our emotions. Punished Not For Your Anger, But By Your Anger We will not be punished for our anger, but we might be punished by our anger, if we aren't careful: Consequences of uncontrolled anger: While you won't face external punishment for expressing anger, the emotion itself can lead to negative consequences. It can damage relationships, cloud judgment, and hinder personal growth. In essence, your anger becomes its own punishment. Inner turmoil and self-inflicted harm: Unprocessed anger can fester internally, leading to stress, anxiety, and even physical health problems. It's like carrying a burning torch - you're the one getting scorched. Learning and growth from anger: While anger can be destructive, it can also be a powerful motivator for change. Recognizing the source of your anger and using it to address underlying issues can lead to personal growth and resilience. In this sense, facing your anger head-on is not punitive, but empowering. Real Talk on Health Challenges: Speaking FOR Your Parts vs. Speaking FROM Your Parts   Jen and I talk about the difference between complaining, speaking honestly about what's going on, and the other person's capacity to sit with things that they may feel they need to fix or change. Many of you have been told that you complain too much or that you're too negative. Neurodivergent brains tend to report the truth, and we are very discerning about what we like and what we don't like. This can be perceived as negativity, complaining or being depressing to be around. What if it really wasn't about you?   CO-HOST Jen Perry, MSEd, MA, LPC   HIGHLIGHTS Summary   In this conversation, Patricia and Jen discuss the difference between complaining and sharing honestly about personal struggles. They explore the challenges of navigating conversations around difficult topics and the importance of holding space for each other's experiences. They also delve into the healing process and the acceptance of trauma, emphasizing the need to honor and validate our own emotions. The conversation highlights the significance of checking intentions and capacity in communication, as well as the transformative power of being in relationship with our experiences. In this conversation, Jen and Patricia discuss the importance of speaking from a part versus speaking for a part. They explore the concept of unprocessed trauma and how it can affect communication. They also discuss the significance of acknowledging and balancing pain, as well as differentiating between acting from a part and speaking for a part. The conversation highlights the role of chaperoning the part and the importance of validating and witnessing pain. Finally, they find humor in the uncertainty of their podcast episodes.   Takeaways   Differentiate between complaining and sharing honestly about personal struggles. Hold space for each other's experiences and validate emotions. Accept and heal from trauma by being in relationship with our experiences. Check intentions and capacity in communication to ensure effective and compassionate conversations. It is important to speak from a part rather than speaking for a part. Unprocessed trauma can impact communication and lead to a desire for others to intuitively understand and fix our needs. Acknowledging and balancing pain can help in managing distressing emotions. Differentiating between acting from a part and speaking for a part can provide clarity in communication. Chaperoning the part involves bringing in other perspectives and validating the pain experienced. Validating and witnessing pain is crucial in processing unprocessed trauma. Amy once went away for a 3-day intensive at a hotel with a therapist that she had never met before because she was so desperate to process an immense amount of pain she was dealing with. She knew that avoiding it would eventually make her sick…like cheesecake zipped up in a Chanel purse. Our negative emotions get zipped away when we don't deal with them and sit rotting in our bodies. Pain is a part of life, but suffering doesn't need to be, so finding a way to process negative emotions is imperative.    Watch the ‘Cheesecake in a Chanel Purse' analogy HERE !!   Amy and Kat also talk about brainspotting, EMDR, The Body Keeps the Score, Kat's feelings about Starbursts (because of the quote for this episode: “Never let anyone treat you like a yellow starburst, you are a pink starburst!”), Blinkist (a way to “read” a book in 15 minutes), manifesting an interview with Mel Robbins & co-hosting Good Morning America with Robin Roberts, and more + bonus quotes!!
