Who doesn't ave work-place drama, it’s something we’ve all encountered but the way we deal with it can go a long way in defining how future adversity and conflict will be handled.. Whether it’s a disgruntled co-worker, a manager with personal issues or simply a work-related disagreement that’s gone too far; many struggle with how to combat workplace drama. That is why we’re presenting you with the following 5 tips and tricks on how to create a drama free workplace that every professional should follow in order to to keep everything on an equal playing field. 1. Address Issues Immediately If you notice employees engaging in gossip or creating rumors that might be harmful, the worst thing you can do is wait. Address any issue as you see it happening or shortly thereafter. The main thing is to stop rumors before they can get out of hand, or better yet, prevent them entirely. 2. Define a Policy To ensure a drama free workplace, you need to make sure that employees know what the consequences are for their behavior. Display the policy publicly, and discuss it with each employee to make sure it’s clear. 3. Document Drama and Instances If anything does occur, keep a record of all incidents and instances. This will help you better reference events for individuals that might display a certain pattern of behavior. Good documentation allows you to take any corrective action that might be needed. 4.Make Sure Disputes Get Properly Resolved You’ll want to oversee dispute resolution and make sure that the proper steps are being followed that allow all parties to move forward in a positive manner. Don’t leave anything lingering when it comes to drama and disputes. 5. Don't Respond in Anger or Feed Into the Drama The worst thing you can do in response to workplace drama is to lash out. Always be professional, especially if you’re in a leadership or managerial position. Don’t strike back at other employees or engage in arguments, as this will only serve as fuel to the fire. Difficult events, such as divorce, miscarriage, the death of a loved one, or the loss of a job, can cause most people to feel grief or distress. But even events that are considered positive by many—getting married, having a child, and buying a home—can lead to a significant amounts of stress. The death of someone you care about is often painful, but the grief felt by family members and friends can be more complex when the cause of death many Americans die from suicide every year. Even though many people are touched by suicide, the stigma surrounding the suicide can mean that family and friends feel stigmatized and isolated. Why Suicide?’ Family and friends may struggle with the question of why the person chose to end their life. Suicide is complex, often with no single explanation for why they died. Suicide may be associated with a number of risk factors, including: mental illness – such as major depression, psychotic illnesses and eating disorders chronic pain physical disability negative life events – such as abuse, significant loss or financial crisis drug or alcohol abuse bullying previous suicide attempt Dealing With Grief Grief is a healthy part of the healing process, and shouldn’t be viewed as poor coping. Usually the intensity of grief will rise and fall with small periods of relief between emotional times. Family and friends describe the grief felt after a suicide as different to that felt after other bereavements. In addition to the powerful feelings of grief, people can struggle with anger, guilt and confusion. Some of the initial feelings of grief after a suicide may include: shock, numbness and disbelief that there was no chance to say goodbye strong feelings of anger or confusion isolation and emotional withdrawal from others feelings of depression, sadness, loneliness, and fearfulness loss of interest in things you usually enjoy helplessness restlessness Dealing with Guilt after a suicide Some people may feel guilt after a suicide. It is not unusual to feel guilty, and that you ‘could have done more’. You may feel they should have picked up the warning signs, or blame yourself for things you did or didn’t do in the period leading up to the suicide. Many people also feel anger and betrayal. Suggestions for family and friends affected by suicide The reasons behind each suicide are unique. So too are the reactions, grief and coping processes of those left behind. It’s important to take care of yourself during this overwhelming and upsetting time. Suggestions include: Sometimes after losing someone to suicide people can feel suicidal themselves. If you notice signs of depression or suicidal thoughts in yourself or other family members it’s important to get professional assistance. Be honest with children and explain the suicide in language appropriate to their age. Surround yourself with nurturing people, and take time for yourself when you need it. Friends and family may seem awkward or not know how to help. Speak with them about your needs. Some may not be able to offer the kind of support you need, which is okay. Try to eat well, sleep regularly, and keep active to maintain your overall well-being. Accept that some friends won’t be able to give you the kind of emotional support you need. Consider joining a support group in your area. Do You Think Stepchildren at Higher Risk for Abuse Than Biological Children? Listening to Dr. Taylor

“Some of our most vulnerable children also face the threat of being victimized by commercial sexual exploitation. Runaways, throwaways, sexual assault victims, and neglected children can be recruited into a violent life of forced prostitution.” According to socio-biology, genetic preservation is at the core of human behavior. Because it is inherent in our genetic structure to ensure survival, individuals are predisposed to take measures to guarantee their genetic survival. In other words, they favor strategies and methods that will increase the likelihood of their family lineage being carried on. This is done through positive and negative methods. Positively, people have children so that their genetic tree can be extended to further generations. Negative methods of preserving genetic lineage also exist and include violence and aggression toward people who are not blood relatives. Based on these theories, it could be assumed that stepchildren are more likely to be abused by parents than biological children. In fact, some research has provided evidence of a 5-fold increase in risk of child abuse for step-children compared to biological children. Why is the world so messed up? The very simple answer is greed, corruption, crimes, poverty, mental illness. What do we see when we look out on our world today when we read the newspapers, as we watch the television? We find that social media and manipulation, corruption, poverty, unsound mind, has impacted the way people live. The caveat is that it distorts individuals' ability to think clearly. People today are feeling emboldened to have dominion over others. Today social media, news, have an advantage over the environment society lives in. As individuals, we decide what is right and wrong rather than abiding by the law. Then, Society tries to redeem itself through technology identifying perpetrators who commit the crime. Too often do we hope. and think if only all these evil people would get their act together, then the world would be a better place to live. Unfortunately, many never hold up the mirror themselves as the true leaders that can lead and or reform a world that is so filled with lust, evil, greed, vanity, and corruption. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/dr-kala-taylor/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dr-kala-taylor/support

Doctor Taylor, is a mother of six children and two of them are twins, Dr. Taylor worked her way through the educational system with all the struggles of motherhood and raising children at such an early age. I was 17 when I had my first daughter and on welfare, then at 19 I had my son., the struggle was truly real. However, I vowed that I will not be a part of the welfare system and set out to accomplish my goals. I worked two jobs while going to college it was not easy, the days were long, and the only way I could study was at night, at work, on break, during lunch, on outings when ever I had a chance with the kids, on long drives listening to audios etc.,. I eventually earned two Associate of Art's degrees, a Bachelor's in Psychology, Masters in Psychology, an M.B.A, and a Doctorate degree all while my children were growing up. In addition to, serving in the military reserves as an officer lieutenant (Direct commissioned with no prior military experience), and holding vocational teaching credential for a stint, and leveraging myself with a Realtors license. Oh did I mention I had opened a few corporations for 7-10 years while working in State Government. You see I believe in leveraging myself, ensuring failure as not being an option in life. The only thing I could do was cry at my graduation due to perseverance and will power, pain and suffering. The educational Journey was long my youngest twins were 13 years old when I earned my Doctorate and I was every bit of 50 years old. I never gave up, and neither should you. Learning is a life long process and education has no age limit,. If you set your mind to achieve your goals nothing is impossible no matter how impossible it may look. I didn't grow up wealthy, I moved out of the house when I was 15years old, after I graduated from high school, and made a life for myself despite the many obstacles that stood in my way. Absolutely nothing is impossible, failure is not trying, if you have tried you have already succeeded.
