Welcome to Picks And Bones music podcast where I interview independent artists from across the country. I go beyond the basic interview so you can know the artist as a person not just another cookie cutter story. While I am open to all genres my base is Red Dirt, Americana and Country
I am excited to be apart of getting this weeks guests music out their. J. Stephens has been working on his dream of releasing his first album for a long time and its happening this Friday. I hope you guys will share my love for the energy and positivity this guys brings to his music.
The Golden Lancers are a hard driving Honky Tonk /Carolina Clay band out of Greer,SC . With the classic combo of steel guitar and some hot chicken picking these guys know how to get your feet moving. I sat down with Randal and David from the band to talk about the band and we debut their new song "One, Four, Five". I think you will love these guys and their honesty sticking to tradition.
Gabe and I talk about his music and life during the current state of the world. We talk insights and what we hope comes out of all this for music.
You might remember this guy he had some hits back in the early 2000's. Clay Davidson hasn't had it easy and it pulled him away from doing what he loves which is playing and singing. I got to sit down with him and talk all things music, where he came from, and how he is getting back into playing. The amount of talent this man possesses is incredible and I had goose bumps during a certain portion of this interview. Yall show him love and support, follow his Facebook page and catch a show when all the madness passes. He's a good man who I am now proud to call friend.
Today I give you yet another amazing NC musician. Jesse Frizell is a no bones about it kind of artist who writes what he feels in the moment. His tone is reminiscent of the 80's country we loved with a modern set of balls. He runs a songwriters group to help strengthen his community. You can find his music on Spotify and Itunes.Love this episode consider becoming a patron and visit. www.patron.com/join/picksandbonesalso visit www.biobidet.com help yourself by not having to worry about toilet tissue shortages. use "bones" at checkout to get 10% off your order.
What were you doing when you were 12 years old, riding bikes, shooting hoops or playing video games? Today's guest was putting her first metal festival Snow Fest together in Sweden. Cynthia Luna Frost in an enigma in the truest sense and her passion for music and performance is massive. I know I typically promote Americana music but Symphonic Metal is a distinct genre that's worth exploring. Cynthia and I talked about being music lovers, which can cross those invisible lines, continents and cultures. Most importantly Cynthia and I talked about being true to one's self, showing others respect regardless of what you think you know about them. At the end of the day it's music that brings us all together not despite our differences but because of them.
I love all kinds of music and yes I know I cover Americana etc... But these are are too amazing musicians to pass up the chance to interview. Marbin Guitarist Dani Rabin and I had a great conversation a few weeks ago and the result is this show. If you are a serious musician you'll love this one because we talk about the technicalities and structures of music. It's a lot harder to covey a message as an instrumentalist rather than a singer/Songwriter.Visit www.marbinmusic.com to learn more and to follow them on all social media outlets. If you love this show and want to support it become a patron.www,patreon.com/join/picksandbones
