Will Wesley and Florian Fox Live At Luckenbach.Take a walk with me down Fascination Street, as I traveled 30 minutes from my house to Luckenbach, Texas to see previous guest of the show Will Wesley perform with his buddy Florian Fox. When Will was on the show last time, he mentioned that he & Florian would be playing Luckenbach a few months from then. So, true to his word, Will reached out to me as the date got nearer, and once again invited me to come see the show, and record another episode. This time, he introduced me to his good friend and tour mate, Florian Fox. Florian is a country singer all the way from Zurich, Switzerland! When Florian is in the U.S., he and Will tour together. When Will is in Switzerland, he and Florian tour together. What a great partnership! So my wife and I went to see them play together at The Thomas Michael Riley Music Festival, live at Luckenbach, Texas! My wife and I had never been there before, and this was one hell of a reason to go. In this episode, we get to know Florian, and how he was introduced to, and fell in love with country music. The two of them share the story of how they met, and why they instantly took a liking to each other. They share some tour stories, they explain why their different musical styles work well together, and they talk about some of the similarities in their music. Naturally, they wrote a song together, and they both graciously agree to let me play it! Both of these great country artists play across America, as well as across Switzerland and Europe. If you ever have the chance to see either, or both of them, DO IT! These gentlemen are a ton of fun to talk to and listen to! ******This episode was recorded LIVE at an outdoor music festival during a torrential rainstorm. I cleaned up the audio as good as I could, I hope you enjoy the episode!*****

Waylon Jennings. The face of the 1970s Outlaw Country Movement was barely known outside of Nashville when he took the stage at Max's Kansas City in New York City in, the nightly hangout spot for avant-garde artist Andy Warhol and his Factory brood, in January 1973. This musical hotbed of the glam rock movement, which also helped launch the careers of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Emmylou Harris and others, was the unlikeliest place for a country and western singer, but Waylon passed muster. In his latest article for the Strange Brew, music historian Scott G. Shea breaks down this legendary performance that lifted Waylon into the public consciousness, but perhaps more importantly, lays out the dozen or more years of trial, error and frustration Waylon went through to get to this point. I would love to coordinate having Scott G. Shea, leading music historian and author of the best-selling book, “All the Leaves Are Brown: How the Mamas & the Papas Came Together and Broke Apart,” on your program to discuss the long and complicated rise of Waylon Jennings; from Nashville outsider to international superstar and father of Outlaw Country. Scott beautifully sets the scene of how the young singer came to Nashville from Phoenix in the mid-1960s and overcame its tight studio system with help from some pretty incredible people.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Grayson Capps is an intuitive songwriter, but on his latest album — his seventh to date — he backtracks to his earliest influences with an affecting set of covers that he became enamored with early on. Titled Heartbreak, Misery & Death, the album finds the Alabama based artist culling classic tracks from the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, Jerry Jeff Walker, Doc Watson, and Randy Newman while apply his own Southern Gothic verve and vitality that's become a keynote touchstone of his music over the course of his career. While the title may seem somewhat intimidating, it aptly describes the themes shared in these songs and the inherent emotions that stirred Grayson even in his youth. Grayson discusses the origin of his inspiration in his chat with Lee and Billy on this current edition of My Backstage Pass. It's an insightful conversation and one that offers a full explanation of the track Grayson took in formulating his career. In other words, it's a discussion that's well worth witnessing. On this week's show, we encourage anyone who's undecided as to who they're going to VOTE for - or if they're even going to VOTE - to exercise the sacred right and privilege to VOTE. Reckless Kelly boasts an indomitable career all their own. Led by brothers Willy (vocals/guitar) and Cody Braun (vocals/fiddle/mandolin/harmonica), they're often referred to as an “alternative country-rock” outfit, but in truth they're much more than that broad description otherwise implies. The group first formed in Stanley, Idaho in February 1996 and then moved toAustin, Texas, where they quickly became one of the leading lights of that fabled music scene. The Brauns, who got their start by touring with their dad in his Western swing band, Muzzie Braun and the Boys, also include lead guitarist Casey Pollock, bass guitarist Chris Schelske and drummer Jay Nazz. Of course, anytime a label is put on a particular artist or ensemble, it tends to confine them to a particular genre. Braun offers his own perspective on the ramifications of being typecast in any one particular way. “It's been interesting to watch the terminology evolve over the course of the last 30 years,” he once told an interviewer. “It seems like the terms have changed to fit the artists, and not so much the other way around. The term ‘country music' got hijacked to the point that actual country artists are now called ‘Americana,' as well as bluegrass, folk, and most things that don't really have a home on commercial radio these days. The folks at Americana radio have done a great job of keeping the genre rooted in real honest music, and for the most part, they've managed to keep the truck - nuts country crowd out of it. We're psyched to be associated with the Americana title, but if someone asks I usually say we're a ‘county-rock' band.” He provides further explanation when he shares his thoughts with Lee and Billy on the new episode of My Backstage Pass. Learn more about Willy and Reckless Kelly at https://recklesskelly.com Podcast producer/cohost Billy Hubbard is an Americana Singer/Songwriter and former Regional Director of A&R for a Grammy winning company. Cody Braun is one of the guiding lights in Reckless Kelly, a band long known as one of the beacons of Austin's much fabled music scene. Along with his brother Willy, he's played an essential role in the 17 studio albums the band's released over the course of the past 30 years, all in addition to being an astute producer and multi-instrumentalist as well. It's little surprise then that the band's new album, The Last Frontier shows off his skills to the fullest. As always, it's fueled by earnest intent in the form of fiery rockers and the occasional sobering sentiment. Those attributes came quite naturally considering that he and his brother inherited their genes from musical forebears — specifically their father and grandfather. That family factor seems well in keeping with Reckless Kelly's musical mantra, which, despite its lengthy history, has always maintained clear consistency.Lee and Billy have the pleasure of speaking with Cody on this new episode of My Backstage Pass as he shares his personal investment in making music, finding his creative potential and simply doing the things he loves in a family way. Charlie Overbey, once labeled the “Punk Rock Spy In The House Of Honky Tonk" by none other than Lemmy of Motorhead, has redefined the outlaw ethos of Americana music. That's never been more evident than with the release of his new album, aptly titled In Good Company. A revisit to decades of writing and recording sessions from studios around the world, it is, in effect, the perfect summation of a career that stretches back nearly 30 years, with guest contributors that include such superstars as Nils Lofgren, Marcus King, Jaime Wyatt, Charlie Starr, Rami Jaffee, Jimmy Vivino, Duane Betts, Eddie Spaghetti, Chris Masterson, Danny B Harvey, and Sarah Gayle Meech, it confirms his standing as one of the more important figures in the cow punk movement…and more. A renaissance man of sorts, Charlie's also made his name in the fashion industry with his well-received line of custom hats, Lone Hawk Hats, which finds him as a one man entrepreneur. They've been worn by artists such as Lainey Wilson, members of the Foo Fighters, Sheryl Crow, Marcus King, and Tim McGraw & Faith Hill from the popular television series “1883.”On the episode of My Backstage Pass, Charlie makes a return appearance and speaks with Lee and Billy about his new album, his career in general and his non-stop flow of continuing creativity. THE VIBE with Kelly Cardenas presents NEVER QUIT - TRISTAN TRITT Tritt went to the West coast to study music production and artist management after high school. However, he soon realized where he really wanted to be was on stage performing. Tritt started playing guitar at a young age - getting lessons from his local guitar shop and from his dad. In addition to growing up on the road learning from some of country music's greatest talents from side stage, Tritt also counts Motörhead, Ozzy Osborne and Stone Temple Pilots as some of his musical influences. He is forging his own path by melding his favorite things and is very clear when he says “I'm doing it MY way.” Tritt believes being “genuine and authentic” in life and music is a top priority.Georgia native, Tristan Tritt, is a Rock artist, songwriter and musician. If the name sounds familiar it's because Tritt is the oldest son of country music legend Travis Tritt, and the brother of country artist Tyler Reese Tritt. However, Tritt's heavier Rock driven performances have surprised fans who expect him to lean more towards his family's Outlaw Country music roots. https://www.tristantritt.com/ BESTSELLING BOOK “THE VIBE- the missing ingredient that changes everything” https://a.co/d/0PzQk6F JOIN THE VIBE COMMUNITY Https://store.kellycardenas.com/kelly-cardenas-membership BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE PODCAST MERCH http://KellyCardenasMerch.com Thank you to our sponsors FINDLAY VOLVO CARS LAS VEGAS Findlay Volvo Las Vegas Tableone hospitality Tableonehospitality.com THE MINA GROUP https://www.michaelmina.net Https://www.Secretknock.co Cardenas Law Group https://www.cardenaslawgrouplv.com BLING SHINE SERUM-The #1 seller of over 15 years and the only product to be endorsed by my MAMA!
