On this week’s show my dear friend and co-presenter David Pilbeam and I reflect on October’s podcast episodes, exploring the ideas of compassion and internal leadership. There were some really interesting ideas in both of these episodes which, on reflection have many complimentary areas to them, which were not apparent when recorded separately. Hopefully you'll get a lot of value from listening to this episode. Please leave us a positive review and subscribe!
If you are in a group or a team, you will have plenty of opportunity to lead, even if you are not the official (nominal) leader of the group. But will you? And what would need to be in place for you and your peers to step up and lead in a way that adds value to the team and helps you get closer to your goals rather than end up in anarchy? In this week's Success iD podcast, team coaching expert Patrick Ballin looks at what we mean by 'Internal Leadership,' why it is so important for high performing teams and how to create the right environment for such an approach to succeed.
In this episode I take some time out to explore a really important concept that has arisen in several guises over recent Success iD episodes and that is the idea of compassion. Perhaps the time is right for us as people keen to lead ourselves and others to start to take this concept seriously and think about how we can apply it in our leadership practice to others and ourselves. In this episode I reference the second book David Pilbeam and I have published Leader iD. You can order your copy of the book from Amazon by following this link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Leader-iD-personalised-discover-leadership/dp/1292232633/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Leader+iD&qid=1570206599&sr=8-1
