MSNBC reporter and author Daniela Pierre Bravo had no idea how enthusiastic readers would become about her new book, The Other: How to Own Your Power at Work as a Woman of Color. As the undocumented daughter of immigrants, she shares personal obstacles she faced in academia and the workplace. She quickly became aware that women all over the world identify as "the other." These are women who've experienced themselves from another person's perspective, and are trained to please and make accommodations while internalizing a sense that they're not good enough. On this week's Motivational Mondays, Daniela shares why women must always know their worth. MSNBC reporter and author Daniela Pierre-Bravo had no idea how enthusiastic readers would become about her new book. As the undocumented daughter of immigrants, she shares personal obstacles she faced in academia and the workplace.  Daniela quickly became aware that she had touched a chord in women worldwide who identify as "the other." She says they've experienced themselves from another person's perspective, and are trained to please and make accommodations while internalizing a sense that they're not good enough.  When you've been defined through actual actions by people as "the other" and been physically treated differently, it's not imposter syndrome—it's reality. Jeffrey Castillo Reyes AKA Digital Jeff is an artist, director, storyteller, alchemist and co-creator of Leaders Create Leaders with Gerard Adams. Jeff was drawn to the camera from an early age and he had to grow up very quickly when his first son was born and he got married at 17 years old. A few years after that he had his own studio which he ran for a long until going back to school and eventually becoming an educator himself with the goal of being the greatest teacher in the world. However, at 31, Jeff felt stuck. He felt a calling to produce a film called Hustle New York so he set out the Big Apple with a list of 12 people he wanted to meet and interview including GaryVee, Gerard Adams and more. Fast forward a few years and Jeff has now co-created the popular YouTube show Leaders Create Leaders with Gerard Adams and the two have traveled all over the globe telling the true, untold stories of some of the world’s greatest leaders. Mark Faris has been convicted for two felonies against a major computer company for mail fraud/wire fraud and money laundering. He spent ten and a half months away from my family in a federal prison camp and halfway house. It was unacceptable, illegal, irresponsible, and arrogant on his part BUT life changing.  As a result, Mark is now embarking on a new mission to educate, teach, and enrich others to avoid taking his path; embracing the idea that personal and business ethics are very much attached at the hip to each other. His purpose is to selflessly and tirelessly communicate the values of accountability, honesty, integrity, and Christian principles to others, less privileged than him, in ways that improve their lives and the lives of others.
