About Kara Marie A photographer for a decade and dreamer for a lifetime, Kara Marie is an award-winning photographer and boudoir photography educator with 2 studios in Austin, TX. She believes whole-heartedly in “girl power” and her life's work is to make sure women know how important and special they are through high-end photography experiences laden with stellar customer service and pampering. She is a capital “F” feminist until it comes to spiders…then it's a man's job. Traveling often and rocking head-to-toe black always, she is an often-too-busy career mom raising 2 incredible boys alongside her husband who is a brilliant business man and highly involved parent in his own right. What's Covered in this Episode This episode is one of my faves, for sure. Kara is super funny and easy to talk to, and one of the most focused, hard-working women I've met. Her commitment to her work and bringing her visions to life is quite inspiring. In our conversation, we talked about... Why Kara focuses on boudoir, and why it's important for her. Why it's worth it to hold out for the boudoir photographer you want. How Kara keeps her work fresh and interesting with a very regimented schedule (she's booked out for the rest of the year, ya'll!) Balancing life with a husband who is also an entrepreneur and two kids. What Kara is doing to expand her experience in 2018. This episode is really candid, funny, and inspiring. Kara is one of my favorite entrepreneurs right now and you will LOVE this conversation. Enjoy!! About Jenny Joy Jenny and I met in Todd Herman's 90 Day Year in 2015. She is a force: mom, serious entrepreneur, focused, intelligent, so beautiful (inside and out), and a real joy to be around (pun totally intended). The first time I saw her picture and bio, I was hooked and knew I would have to connect with her. A few months later, we did connect and I'm so happy we did. I believe we have many soul mates, people we are supposed to meet in this lifetime, and Jenny is one of mine. I really think you'll enjoy her story and appreciate her perspective. Topics Covered in this Episode: In our conversation, you'll hear how Jenny went from accidental homeschool mom, to serious homeschool mom, to entrepreneur... shedding layers and making BIG at each stage. We talk about a surreal moment where Jenny's world stood still as she shifted. The shift? For the first time in her life she realized her happiness is a factor that should be considered. We also talk about... Life as both a labyrinth and a rosebush, Continuing to face your fears, Choosing curiosity as a response to fear, and Switching into the essence of who we are Let's Continue the Conversation! About Sunday Sunday is a woman on a mission. When I met her in January 2017 at my New Year Retreat for Women Entrepreneurs, I was so drawn to her bubbly personality. Once we talked, I quickly learned about the challenges she's faced over the past five years. Sunday's life was changed forever in April 2012 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of surgeries, radiation, and chemo therapy, she earned the title "breast cancer survivor". But she didn't stop there! In 2016 she competed in the #1 ranked reality TV show Survivor. Learn how Sunday navigated the ebbs and flows of a tricky diagnosis, and how it impacted her relationships (she is a married mother of 4 children who, at the time of her diagnosis, ranged between 12-18 years old). Topics Covered in this Episode In our conversation you'll hear about what it's like... Navigating relationships in entirely new terrain, Making decisions upon decisions upon decisions...at a time when you're feeling the most unclear… And how it feels to not be able to take care of a family the way you're used to. But then you'll hear how Sunday used this experience to create an amazing experience for herself and now step into a life she would not have otherwise known. Hero moments, Second baptisms, Turning hard moments into big big blessings. And how Sunday developed a real love of towels (30+ days on a remote island tends to have that effect). If you're going through something in your life, or have been through something in your life, or know someone who is going through something in their lives, I promise you'll love hearing Sunday's refreshing perspective. Listening to this interview, I laughed and I teared up a little too. Sunday is such a cool lady and I'm honored to share this conversation with you.
