There is an excitement in the Pirates clubhouse and have a lot of guys that embody the blue-collar aspect of Pittsburgh. Mangum has an exciting style of play with speed and defense the backbone of it. Evgeni Malkin was ejected from the game last night against Buffalo. Joe compared it to a rock fight. Joe thinks people need to relax with the Malkin talk and him snapping has nothing to do with his contract.
Malicious Malkin
We are 1 day away from the NHL Trade Deadline as the surprise Penguins are all of the sudden a buyer. But how big of one? Will the Pens go after someone as notable as Vincent Trocheck? We may see Kyle Dubas take it slow and not go overboard, even though the Pens need center help. Shane Wright was a name we broached – a center with the Kraken that is freshly 22-years-old and had 44 points last season. What should the Penguins do with Evgeni Malkin? The guys think it only makes sense to re-sign Geno after the season if he plays well and helps this team make it to the playoffs. Did Kyle Dubas already have another plan in his mind about Malkin before the Penguins season played out? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray could foresee Aaron Rodgers giving the Steelers an answer off-the-record like he did last year as this thing could string out for another year. Ray admitted that some of Rodgers' comments yesterday made the situation a little bit more ‘murky.' Ray doesn't expect this to be a question mark until June again this time around. Ray isn't sure how likely it is that any of the outside free agents would come in and be the Steelers QB. Ray talked about the chances Will Howard and Mason Rudolph have to steer the ship. Ray reminded the guys that they will not give Howard the keys without having seen him in any game action. The guys noted that Jacoby Brissett, despite a 1-11 record last season, had numbers eerily similar to Rodgers in 2025. Ray thinks Kenneth Gainwell will explore his market in free agency after winning team MVP. Chris gave Ray some WR names to pick from and he chose Romeo Doubs, thinking he'd be around $15M/year player. How much would the Steelers have to offer Calvin Austin to get him back? Ray said the versatility of Jalen Ramsey allows the Steelers to explore multiple avenues when it comes to the defensive backfield this offseason. Which WR is the best in this draft? Ray is surprised there wasn't more news around Carnell Tate running a 4.52 40-yard dash. Ray thinks WR is the first move the Steelers make on Monday, either via trade or free agency.
In this hour, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson react to the weekend the Penguins had, and they wonder if C Evgeni Malkin has it in him to play at least one more season. Also, how aggressive will the Penguins be at the NHL Trade Deadline. March 2, 2026, 6:00 Hour
What does the future look like for Evgeni Malkin? Following Saturday's shootout loss, Geno shared with the media that he will not be going over contract stuff with Kyle Dubas and the Penguins until the offseason. What should happen? Is it as easy as a 2-year deal for the Penguins legend? It's hard to deny what Malkin has done this season after we thought this would be the swansong. A slew of topics from today's show. Makai Lemon reportedly ‘bombed' his interviews at the combine. Is he going to fall in the draft and/or be there for the Steelers at 21? Should the Steelers draft him?

Paul Steigerwald joins to discuss the Pens win last night, Stuart Skinner's presence and if he could be traded, what the Pens need to get into the playoffs, the needs at the trade deadline, if Vincent Trocheck is an option, Anthony Mantha and others on expiring contracts, if Malkin might resign in Pittsburgh.
Ray Fittipaldo joins to discuss his takeaways from the combine, Ty Simpson and Drew Allar, why the Steelers are so high on Will Howard, WR options in the draft, the ugly Steelers report card, will Gainwell be back, how he graded Metcalf in 2025, Queen's future in Pittsburgh. Recent history shows we can't write off Simpson to the Steelers. It's suddenly better times in Pittsburgh sports. The Pirates are the biggest story in baseball, and it's a positive for once. There's nothing fluky about the Pens at this point. Dubas has quickly turned around the Pens. There's even some excitement about the Steelers. Joe is completely right about the reaction if the Steelers draft Ty Simpson and Limits and Donny are completely wrong. The Steelers report card is horrible again. There are only 5 toilets. There's hope, and the Pens are getting results right now too. Callers chime in on the optimism. Drew Allar discussion. Shelty used the word incrinkulent yesterday. I make up a word "fellendoofer". A caller used it immediately. Callers are very happy on this wonderful day. Nick Farabaugh joins to discuss the Cowboys franchising George Pickens, he heard that Ty Simpson was impressive in his interview, the big stories for the Steelers at the combine, the possibility of the Steelers drafting a tackle, Vega Iaone, what the kicker market means for Chris Boswell. Farabaugh uses the word "incrinkulent". A look around the NFL - Anthony Richardson is seeking a trade, JaQuan Brisker, tall vs fast for WRs, random 49ers trivia. Who would be best on TV - Tomlin, Rodgers, or Cam? Kevin Gorman joins from Spring Training to give the latest on Konnor Griffin, how the Pirates have three unicorns, how Griffin has looked in the field, the schedule with the WBC, how Griffin lasted to No. 9 in the draft, his interaction with Sheltie yesterday. The Pirates are one of the biggest stories in the MLB. Things are way better with the Pens. What will the Pens do in goal this weekend? Looking at the slate of the WPIAL basketball games.
Tyler Kennedy didn't think Toews and Makar played great for the Canadiens in the Gold Medal Game. How close was Sidney Crosby to playing? Bob wants to do what it takes for Crosby and Malkin to go back to the postseason.
Hour 1 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: TK didn't think Toews and Makar played great for the Canadiens in the Gold Medal Game. How close was Sidney Crosby to playing? Bob wants to do what it takes for Crosby and Malkin to go back to the postseason. Tyler Kennedy thinks the Penguins should give Avery Hayes a chance on the top line.
Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson wonder if Evgeni Malkin can go back to the "good old days" and carry the Penguins while Sidney Crosby is out with injury. Also, should the Pens consider adding another center to bolster line depth?
Sidney Crosby is going to miss, at minimum, the next four weeks. Jay thinks it's a big loss and the whole team needs to come together to overcome not having Sid in the lineup. Dan Muse has done a good job getting the best out of players, and this will be a real test. Jay thinks Evgeni Malkin has been on a mission to be great, but it's unrealistic that Malkin can carry the Penguins.

Post-Gazette Penguins insider King Jemison breaks down the latest news and notes around the team. This show is presented by FanDuel. Should the team be expecting a suspension for Bryan Rust after his high hit on Brock Boeser at the end of the Penguins' 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks? How would the team potentially handle his absence? Is Evgeni Malkin OK after doubling over in pain after being bumped by Anthony Mantha during the celebrations after that win? Or is something more concerning going on there? What do we know about the injury to Jack St. Ivany? King tackles those topics, then breaks down more from the team's recent road trip. How good has Malkin been? How is this team winning in different ways? Can they actually make the playoffs — or make some noise if they get there? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. We start the show with a big question, Are The Buffalo Sabres Good? Sitting third in the Atlantic Division, can the Sabres snap their playoff drought this year?Sticking in the Atlantic, the Toronto Maple Leafs are struggling sitting five points out of the playoffs. Are Toronto's playoff hopes over? The Detroit Red Wings are a team that has surprised with their record so far and with an abundance of cap space could we see the Wings make a big splash before the Olympic Break or at the deadline to vault this team to another level in an Eastern Conference that remains relatively open for the taking? The Boston Bruins continue to hover around the final Eatern Conference playoff spot. Bruins' backup Joonas Korpisalo has been sensational since the beginning of 2026 with a 4-0-0 record, sub two GAA, and a SV% over .940. With Jeremy Swayman heading to the Olympics, could we see more starts by Korpisalo and a tandem forming similar to when the Bruins had Swayman and Linus Ullmark? The Pittsburgh Penguins are giving Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang their storybook farewell. Considered at the beginning of the season as a team that could turn the chapter on their veterans and rebuild, the Penguins currently sit second in the Metro Division and are riding a four-game winning streak.A big question for Penguins' GM Kyle Dubas will be what to do with Malkin? The veteran forward is a free agent after this year but has shown he still has gas left in the tank. With Crosby under contract still for next season, could we see Malkin resign and ride off into the sunset with his long-time teammate or will Dubas look to turn over this team to some of his younger prospects climbing the organizational ranks?Malkin and the Penguins' situation brings up the topic of development and is it better for younger players to grow with other young players and go through those growing pains together or is it better to have a group of seasoned veterans in the room to ease rookies into the league and pass down their wisdom? The Anaheim Ducks have had a rollercoaster season but sit third in the Pacific and are on a seven-game win streak. This mix of veterans and youngsters could be the blueprint for other teams going into a rebuilding stage or trying to breakout from their rebuilds to get back to contention. Evan Bouchard had a monster game Saturday posting six points, including his first ever hat trick in a 6-5 overtime win over the Washington Capitals. How rare was Bouchard's night for NHL defenders?Nikita Kucherov now sits third in NHL scoring and with Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid stealing a lot of the spotlight, it's hard to overlook the Russian winger's impact for the Tampa Bay Lightning who have had a slew of injuries this season yet still sit second in the Atlantic Division. Does Kucherov not get the attention he deserves on a national scale?Pat joins the show for another edition of Buy or Sell: Carter Hart and Adin Hill will be the goalie tandem for Vegas come playoffsVegas to win the PacificA big trade will occur before the Olympic BreakLastly, the guys discuss all the new faces that could be in the playoffs this season and if this parity is good for the NHL or if the parity devalues the Stanley Cup?0:00 - Intro3:15 - Are The Sabres Good?6:40 - Are Toronto's Playoff Hopes Over?11:15 - Red Wings in the Market12:05 - Boston Bruins15:00 - Pittsburgh Penguins15:20 - What Does Dubas Do With Evgeni Malkin?17:15 - Development21:40 - Anaheim Ducks28:00 - Bouchard Hatty35:30 - Nikita Kucherov38:40 - Buy or Sell50:55 - New Teams in the PlayoffsYou can get involved with all the NHL futures action over on bet365 by using the promo code NATION at bet365.comConnect with us on ⬇️TwitterInstagramWebsiteDaily Faceoff Merch Hosted on Acast. Learn how to JournalSpeak ➡️ LEARN HOW: https://tinyurl.com/2ph33u2s In today's episode, I sit down with Deb Malkin to explore what it truly means to reclaim your body, your agency, and your sense of safety from the inside out. Deb's story of overcoming years of debilitating knee pain isn't just about symptoms resolving—it's about a paradigm shift. We talk about what happens when you stop assuming your body is broken, and instead begin listening to it, partnering with it, and seeing it as a safe place to return to. Deb learned to align with her body rather than fight it, and the result was profound physical and emotional transformation. We also dive into internalized weight stigma, body image, and the external pressures that shape how we view ourselves. Deb brings so much clarity around the harm of cultural narratives that tell us our bodies must look a certain way to be worthy or healthy. We talk about how those beliefs create nervous system activation, fear, shame, and pain—and how shifting into compassion, curiosity, and trust becomes its own form of healing. This conversation isn't just about knee pain. It's about liberation, empowerment, and remembering that your body is not a problem to fix—it's home. In this episode, Lisa and Andrea discuss:Navigating family dynamics when college students return home for holidays and extended breaksBalancing student independence with household expectations during time at homeCommunicating effectively with teens and college students to reduce conflict around schedules, curfews, and responsibilitiesSupporting student identity development and deeper conversations during the transition homeKey Takeaways: Parents should set expectations early—before the student comes home—about rest needs, schedules, and non-negotiable family commitments.Curfew conversations work best when approached collaboratively, using “horizontal parenting” to negotiate reasonable times and communication.Students may return with new beliefs, identities, and peer relationships, so families should create space for deeper conversations and respond with curiosity rather than judgment.Parents should avoid tasks like laundry or over-caretaking, as these can unintentionally undermine the student's developing independence. “Colleges are ready to welcome messy, unfinished, unbaked, totally underbaked students. And those first couple of years are about figuring out who they are.” – Andrea Malkin BrennerAbout Andrea Malkin Brenner: Dr. Andrea Malkin Brenner is the President of AMBrenner, LLC and Founder of the Talking College™ brand, a speaker and college transition educator with 25 years as a “college insider.”Episode References:Use Andrea's Talking College Cards to spark meaningful family conversations about college transitions: https://www.ambrenner.com/shopSubscribe to Lisa's newsletter for weekly tips to connect with your teen or young adult: flourishcoachingco.com/newsletterGet Lisa's Free on-demand video: How-to guide for your teen to choose the right major, college, & career...(without painting themselves into a corner, missing crucial deadlines, or risking choices you both regret). flourishcoachingco.com/video Connect with Andrea:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andreamalkinbrenner/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ambrennerllcWebsite: https://www.ambrenner.com/ & https://talkingcollege.com/Book: How to College: What to Know Before You Go (and When You're There) by Andrea Malkin Brenner and Lara Hope Schwartz: https://www.amazon.com/How-College-Before-Youre-There/dp/1250225183LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrea-malkin-brenner-phd-135b43178Email: andreamalkinbrenner@gmail.com Connect with Lisa:Website: https://www.flourishcoachingco.com/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@flourishcoachingcoFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/flourishcoachingco/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/flourishcoachingco/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/flourish-coaching-co

Episode SummaryErin and Rachel hop on down to 1920's New Orleans, where Disney's first Black princess spends most of her time as a frog in the Louisiana bayou. The Princess and the Frog (2010) provided much needed representation, but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of its race, class, and gender politics. Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. The guys asked TK why he doesn't go on the Morning Show, but he's present on the others. Tyler said the weirdest guy he played hockey with was Brent Burns – sighting the extensive reptile collection and the quirky things he'd do. How many players are more superstitious than Sidney Crosby? There are reports that Evgeni Malkin will have a sit-down with Kyle Dubas to discuss future options, which could mean more Geno in a Penguins uniform.

In this episode, Brook Olsen is joined once again by Dr. Craig Malkin, author of Rethinking Narcissism, to explore the lesser-known counterpart to narcissism: echoism. Through the lens of Greek mythology and modern psychology, they unpack how those who fear being “too much” often find themselves entangled in toxic dynamics with narcissistic partners. Dr. Malkin explains how echoism—marked by self-silencing, people-pleasing, and a fear of taking up space—is a survival response rooted in early family systems. Together, they discuss how cultivating healthy anger, reclaiming agency, and practicing mindful disengagement can break the cycle of negative intimacy and lead to lasting change. A must-listen for anyone navigating high-conflict relationships or healing from emotionally abusive dynamics.
